Shelbourne won the title with a License last yr.
They were champions, end of story.
Should we go back in history and look at the books of ever league Championship teams as far as possible and start redistributing medals?
Although that would be unfeasible, it would be the fair and just thing to do if concerns were raised as to the legitimacy of winning of the title. Going back to the most recent season ought to be convenient enough, however.
Just because Shelbourne had a licence, doesn't mean that they acted rightfully throughout the whole season, nor does it mean that they should remain immune from punishment if they did in fact break certain off-the-field rules.
What I'm not sure of is if they did actually break rules. For example, was failing to pay players for weeks on end permissable under the 2006 rules? Are the 2007 rules any different?
