Not that it affects the general principle, but I wouldn't be so bothered about him missing this match. Ireland should beat this transitional/experimental Bermudan side with ease, although three of their more promising bowlers (Malachi Jones, Stefan Kelly and Rodney Trott) should arrive from the Americas U19 tournament before the game.
I very much doubt we're going to get a completed game in, anyway. The Antalis Leinster Senior Cup final between Clontarf and Merrion is scheduled for tomorrow at Rathmines. Can't see that surviving the weather either.

It does not make a difference for me, if Ireland were playing Australia or some new nation like the Falkland Islands, he should always be prepared to play for Ireland at all times.

Do the Irish lads get some wages? looks like it's a full time sport.

The county players do. Some of the Irish-based players are paid for coaching by their clubs.

If they don't get paid when playing for Ireland then there is nothing to question about some players not being able to turn up for games.

Morgan wouldn't lose a penny by playing for Ireland. He's a professional cricketer

If it's only his club paying his wages then wouldn't he be obliged to play for them when needs are greater.

Clontarf won the Antalis Leinster Senior Cup after beating Merrion by 126 runs in the final. Rod Hokin was the stand-out performer, scoring 116* out of Clontarf's total of 253/8. He then took 3-21 as Merrion collapsed to 127 all out.

The last game of the international season gets underway at Clontarf in about ten minutes (start delayed due to rain.) Ireland are facing Bermuda in a four-day Intercontinental Cup match and will expect to win handsomely. Bermuda's bowling unit (which suffered plenty of punishment in the recent series against the Netherlands) has been augmented by several members of their victorious Americas U19 World Cup qualifying squad, however.
Bermuda won the toss and opted to field under cloudy skies. The Ireland team is as follows: Porterfield, White, Botha, N O'Brien+, K O'Brien, Cusack, Johnston, McCallan, Fourie, Thompson, Langford-Smith.

White bowled for 5 by O'Brien. That experiment's worked well...
Ireland 7-1.

Ireland 52-1 at lunch. Porterfield is motoring along as usual, 19* off 61. Botha is 28 not out off 49 balls.

261-2 now. Porterfield scores his maiden First Class century. Bermuda's decision to field first isn't looking too clever.

360 odd after day 1, should get to 500 and declare there and put the pressure on the weak Bermuda attack.

Ireland declared on 524-8 early in the afternoon session on day two. Porterfield scored 166, Kevin O'Brien an unusually restrained 50 and Trent Johnston 61.
Rather impressively, Bermuda's Edness kept wicket for 133 overs and only conceded one bye. He didn't have much luck with the bat, however, as he was first man out in Bermuda's innings (caught McCallan bowled Langford-Smith for 8.)
Bermuda are currently 28-1.

Bermuda ended the day on 180-8. A spirited stand of 64 for the second wicket between Outerbridge and Cann gave Bermuda a useful start, but once it was broken, wickets fell at regular intervals. Thinus Fourie was the only Irish bowler to disappoint; he took the new ball and leaked 44 off seven overs. McCallan returned the remarkable analysis of 16-11-14-1. Langford-Smith took 2-40, Johnston 1-14, Thompson 2-36, White 2-9 and Kevin O'Brien 0-17.
Ireland should wrap up an innings victory tomorrow, provided the weather holds.

Yes, the victory is in Ireland's hands now.
McCallan is clearly one of the best bowlers outside the Test Nations.

Ireland won by an innings and 146 runs. Two quick Johnston wickets wrapped up Bermuda's first innings for 192 before Bermuda made a positive start to their second innings. As on day one, Outerbridge and Cann amassed a sizeable partnership for the second wicket, one which was again ended by Thompson trapping Cann lbw.
Langford-Smith returned figures of 5-45, Fourie picked up his first wicket of the match and Andrew White (match figures: 7.5-2-16-5) polished off the tail. Bermuda succumbed for 186.

Nice easy expected win there.
When are the Twenty20 games involving Ireland ?

There aren't any. The Twenty20 European Championships were scheduled to take place in Belfast in July but got cancelled because of the quadrangular series.

Ok, I did not read that, obviously missed that, in any event, when is the next match.

God knows. Probably an FP game next April. There was talk of a tour to New Zealand or Bangladesh over the winter but the ICU can't afford it.

Ireland's Boyd Rankin and Niall O'Brien have been approached by the breakaway Indian Cricket League. Rankin hopes to sign next week. The implications for their continued participation in ICC-sanctioned events are as yet unclear.

North County have won a record fourth Irish Senior Cup after defeating The Hills by 105 runs in today's final at Castle Avenue. North County batted first and scored 259-8 from their 50 overs. André Botha top-scored with 84 but North County were wobbling somewhat after a strong start when the Mooney brothers, Paul and John, came together. Each scored 31 and helped North County to a competitive total.
When Reinhardt Strydom removed Jeremy Bray with just 13 on the board in the Hills's reply, North County scented blood. Nonetheless, The Hills recovered somewhat until an André Botha hat-trick (the second wicket-taking delivery of which shattered leg-stump in two) effectively sealed the game. Legspinner Richie Lawrence took 5-35 and young seamer Eddie Richardson the decisive wicket of Nadeem Akhtar. André Botha was unsurprisingly adjudged man-of-the-match by Ireland coach Phil Simmons.
The victory maintains North County's record of winning the tournament in alternate years from 2001.

Disappointing day for the Hills. Deserved MOM for Botha. Barry Archer and young Patrick Byrne made a fist of the bating for the Hills but unfortunatley they were on the back foot after Bray went for 9. Bragging rights to Balrothery for this year. Glum faces around Skerries last night.

Rush moved a step closer to winning the league on sunday after beating clontarf by 50 odd runs. On a personal level it would be great to see them win the league since my dad was captain when they won promotion to senior B.

Rush: The only place in my 24 years of cricket where we have NEVER got an lbw decision from the opposition umpires and I exaggerate not.

Try playing Old Elvedere. I've never played their firsts or seconds, but their thirds wouldn't even give you a coin for the toss! Have any of you lot played down here?

Excellent wicket in Rush though and the first ever century scored against our club was up there with the ball being deposited over the white walls with great regularity by a guy called Robert Ryan. I think that was his one and only game for the club (banger ;)).

Clontarf moved closer to the Leinster title today with a 49-run win over North County thanks to 48 and 4/43 from Andrew Poynter. Victory (or a rain abandonment, which looks likely) against Merrion tomorrow will clinch the title. Rush are currently top but have completed their programme.
Railway Union's galacticos have been relegated to League B after a badly rain-affected season.
Ireland will compete in the East Midlands group of next season's Friends Provident Trophy. Their opponents will be Warwickshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Northamptonshire. The format of the competition is home-and-away round robin.

ridiculous situation where a team who have a 100% record and have beaten tarf twice this year finish second to them
Sheridan

Clontarf clinched the Leinster title with a fairly close-run victory over Merrion yesterday. Tarf made 177 all out (Cusack 60, O'Reilly 42, Hokin 34) before bowling Merrion out for 154 (Joyce 54, Hokin 4-35.) Their Aussie pro Rod Hokin was due to leave for home today after contributing handsomely to their provincial double success. Hopefully we'll see him again next year.
The Hills finish third after defeating Railway Union, who complete their programme without a single league win to their name. Their all-star squad (including Irish internationals Kevin O'Brien, Trent Johnston, Kenny Carroll and Roger Whelan, with occasional cameos from Niall O'Brien) will therefore play Section B cricket next year. YMCA are the other relegated side.
Leinster have been promoted from Section B; Malahide look likely to join them after pipping challengers Phoenix by a single wicket in the Park. Victory over Munster Reds at the Mardyke next Saturday will clinch promotion.

That 20/20 competition is brialliant. One of the most exciting sports around. Really enjoyed the semi-final between India and Australia played with such passion by both sides. An India vs Pakistan final. Watch the sparks fly.
