I've only got vague info on this but there's an article in the Star on Sunday entitled 'League Learning Valuable Lesson' with a sub heading 'Third level opportunities keeping home grown players going abroad'. It begins by going on about Bohs connection with DCU and after a few paragraphs says:
The Gypsies aren't the only club to have gone down this route and UCD of course have set the precedent in this regard. The five year plan they are currently implementing is centred on an academy being established on campus and after Pete Mahon turned down the opportunity to manage Shelbourne, he will be an integral part of that.
It sounds promising but that's all it says. Obviously this is the stuff Sherro or Shakespeare (can't remember which) was going on about in the media after we kept Mahon,
