Well if Noel O'Connor or Aidan Ryan are anywhere near the place, I for one will not be attending any games next season, despite all the effort put in to saving senior socccer. Had enough of that s**t over the last few seasons, thank you very much! :ball:
I think NOC knows he's not liked or wanted on the terraces anyway

I think NOC knows he's not liked or wanted on the terraces anyway I agree, NOC/AR had their chance to take Lims to to next level and failed, I don't believe in going back especially when those names are being mentioned, more to the point though what kind of a team can they possibly put together at such short notice, are we going to see players who played senior soccer a few seasons ago (who now play junior soccer) coming back, like Rossi, Hartnett and the like, are the likes of Chukka, Paddy, Robbie, Tommy, Derek and other of the better Lim Fc players going to sign up for Lim 37, would hate to see them go elsewhere.

No Manager has been appointed and any mumbles about the town are just that mumbles. 5 managers were interviewed and the process is not yet complete.

I hope so old keeper i really do. A wrong appointment could ruin all the good work done by the soccer limerick group in the past months. Fingers crossed and i hope that the licence application is successful.

Here here, and I'll go one further by saying forget about Noel O'Connor and his side kick anyway. Appoint them, and wave goodbye to any hope of a following at Jackman Park. I seriously hope that those conducting the interviews and making the appointment are privy to what went on at Limerick with the aforementioned over the years. Don't undoe all the good work lads....... Mike Kerely would be a no no as well, but bareable if it happened.
And don't for the love of god hand out long-term contracts! :D

I agree with the sentiments on NOC but that siad I think its important that a new management team has appropriate coaching badges.
I hadn't thought of Ray O'Halloran to be honest - I think he manages Balla now? I am completely biased in supporting him because of his ability as a player and his long years of service to the club in what were really ****ty times.

I think he stopped managing Balla 2 seasons ago. He is not managing anyone at the moment (I think).
Im not sure if he would be the best person for the job but he does have a lot of LOI experience as a player and may have some contacts in order to get players. He would also have a good knowledge of the junior league (if he needed to go there to get players).
Are there many options for the managers job? Does the new setup have the financial backing to get in a top manager?

Don't think you'll find too many Limerick fans who are hostile to Mike Kerley
Looking back in hindsight in his two seasons with the club he did well with a good side and no money and then did terrible with a terrible side and no money. Kerleys sides always tried to play good football aswell
NOC on the otherhand, in his second spell in charge, did poorly with what was widely percieved among Limerick fans to be a good side. His teams also played a brand of football which alienated a lot of Limerick fans. He also had damaging rows with fan favourites like Derek McCarthy
Having said that on a personal level I've never had any problem with the man and you'd be fairly hard pressed to find a Limerick fan who does have a major problem with him

How about not using CAPS when you type? It'd also help if you could speak English, this forum is not a mobile phone.
As for what you are saying, you'd want to be sick in the head or know very little about football to want NOC back for a third unsuccessful stint as manager. He made a royal balls of the last team he had and clearly doesn't have the personality or man management skills to run a team. As just a coach, maybe.....but I would not blame any long term supporter from walking away if NOC was back again for a third time with two failures already behind him - that's taking the p**s. And the comments are in no way personal

the new manager should have a good knowledge of the local junior soccer scene regardless, because imo this is where all the footballers will be drawn from.Everyone wont be happy of who is picked but im sure will have the support of the majority.

Surely its one of Foot's rules that we aren't allowed use garbage english? i.e. text speak? Anyway I'm with gael on this one, if Noel O'Connor is involved in this as manager then I'm taking my chips off the Limerick 1937 table (can we try and get Soccer Limerick to call them that instead of 37?). I've had enough of watching his souless brand of football for this lifetime

Heard from a reliable source that Tommy Lynch is set to be the new manager. Manager of what, exactly?? Until the application is actually approved and Limerick 37 are part of the Eircom League, there is nothing to manage. That knob Drew actually has a pretty good case on paper, given that none of the established clubs like Cork City, Shels, St Pats, Derry, etc had to actually apply to be a part of this new league, and Delaney did kinda shaft him. Now, I pray to jesus that he gets laughed out of court, but you never know...
Also, I have my doubts that the Soccer Limerick application is strong enough financially to be accepted. There are massive issues concerning funding and finance.
I hope it is accepted for the sake of football in Limerick, but I wouldn't be accepting it as the done deal most of ye seem to be on this site.:ball:

IMO he doesn't have any case at all. He may have a case that he wasn't given a license - that could be argued isuppose but he has absolutelt no basis to a claim that the FAI should have invited him to join their new league. The league agreed participation agreements with all clubs already in - the FAI cannot be forced to sign a particiaption agreement with anyone. The licence and the membership of the league are two distinct things. Even if Limerick FC got a licence it does not mean they woudl automatically be accepted to join the new FAI league. If the FAI wish to sign a participation with an alternative Limerick club then that is their perogative. It might be unfair on DD but it is absolutely not illegal. And being granted an injunction is not an indicaiton that he has a case - IMO next week will see a finding for the FAI.:ball:

With the court case ongoing and no licences been given out, limerick 37 cant start anything till this is sorted. Appoint a manager, sign players, then no licence awarded? not a good idea

Does it really matter? No
A few weeks ago we were facing having no club in Limerick. If we have one this season it'll be all about building and looking to the future anyway so if players want to go elsewhere, let them go...obviously we'd prefer if they didn't, but remember most of these guys sprang from the junior leagues in recent seasons anyway, so there'll be another batch to pick from.....

Well said!
And, depending on how things pan out (personally for the players, organisationally for Limerick 37 or FC), some of those who have signed up elsewhere might return on loan during the season, or in full next season.

If it's Paul McGee you're referring to, he palyed against FC Groningen (now in the news as their player Clarence Seedorf's brother is in talks with Fulham I think), but never played FOR them.
The Dutch team he had a short spell with was FC Haarlem

Joe: While he remains the clubs all time leading goalscorer & was a legend ON the field, Ski had a short and unhappy spell as manager of Galway United. He also bossed a couple of Junior Clubs around Galway AFAIK.

no. he helped out occassionally with the training for the strikers. Ski was a great player, but isnt a manager, bad decision if true. Something tells me he exaggerated the truth a bit on his CV !!!
