Hull have called a press conference for 11 am tomorrow. I have absolutely no idea if it's anything to do with Roy. Feel free to thank me for this useful information.

That would be an amazing deal IMO.

Personally I think any LOI/IL player is a big risk for English teams especially the lower leagues where the money isn't as plentiful.

If I where a manager, I wouldn't spend more than 250k(sterling) for an Irish based player

Yet English clubs will spend 2 - 3 Million sterling on a player from Norway or Sweden -despite the fact that the Eircom League is ranked higher than both leagues. About time we stood up for ourselves and demanded respect.

We must'nt be silly either -if the amount offered is a good deal higher than the eL transfer record I would take it ( but build in enough clauses so that they can make more money if the player does well ).

Cork City recieve 2 offers for Roy(Southend and Fulham). Nothing much else said about the matter apart from Damien saying he'll give it consideration.

According to BBC Radio Ulster, Fulham have made a bid for Cork City's Roy ODonovan. Not sure of the value though.

Southend United have also made a bid for him. Wonder which club he'd perfer..Southend or FULHAM?:D

This was mentioned on the news on RTE last night. They gave the impression that Cork weren't likely to sell him so I'd guess the offers weren't that high.

Isn't Roy's contract up soon? Haven't been following this story as I think he is a plank and so have little interest in him, but I remember hearing that it is, possibly even this season?

If so then Cork should take whatever they can get for him, whilst they can still get it

gustavo

Seeing as he is doing most of the scoring for them , they might as well not accept offers they deem acceptable and just lose him at the end of the season for whatever price the tribunal gives for him .

How long until he's playing for Ireland?

Row Z

How eager is he to go? could play out the season with CCFC, leave in November and Cork will be due, according to some papers, €240k.
Bit of a gamble, if Cork do will this season with O'Donavon and he leaves with their blessing in November then everyone's happy, titile+€240k
If they dont win anything and keep an unhappy player they mite regret not selling him for more money now.

Don't think you're allowed go to Fulham unless you play for them.

Mick McCarthy & Roy Keane have certain patterns to their signings too.

I think Lawrie is a good coach and would wish Roy the best of luck, if the moved to a decent club.

At least he has signe the good ones and not the wooden ones like Capaldi. How he gets near the team I don't know.

I was just thinking that as I posted. Keane pretty much went out and bought anyone who he played with at United, Celtic or Ireland who was available. Mick still has his favourites such as Breen and Elliott - fully expect Kilbane to end up at Wolves when the time comes to drop out of the top division.

I'd expected Kerr to buy up a bunch of players he used to work with but Pats have signed an interesting mix of players from all over the place (Shelbourne, Scotland, England, Czech Republic, USA)

Surely there's more internationals at Cork now than at Fulham (Northern Ireland doesn't count:p) so you'd have to say it would be a backwards step.

He told the club earlier in the season that he would not sign a new contract. He wants to leave, its just a matter of when...

With Roy we could win the league this season. Without him & no replacement it would seem unlikely.

If he is sold now we could add at least a 10% sell on clause which is where the real money is. We may have sold Kevin Doyle for pitance but at least we got a 10% sell on clause inserted in order to to quick deal. By conservative estimates that would be worth at least 1m euro in todays market.

I think negotiations would start above Alan Bennets fee earlier this season. Would a Premiership side (not Reading) bid <500k for such a young player?

Staunton picks his side based on the club players at paid by, If you are a Premiership sub you are automatically better than say Championship starter.

In Leon we trust ;)

I wouldn't count previous deals as they were all cráp, paid far below the value, chronic history of this with City.

Benno is a defender, strikers imo should always get more return. Roy has scored 20 goals and its only half way through the season. Anything less that <€700 up front is not a good deal for us, end of.

Latest development is that if/when Fulham buy Roy they will loan him to City until the end of the season or until city are out of the running for the league.

IMO this is a win win situation.

Some russian club tried to get roy on loan until november for 200k but City turned it down.

Roy Will Join Fulham for €450,000 and be loaned back for the rest of the season. Deal said to be worth up to €800,000 after 10 apps and an international cap.

20% sell on clause also included.

Amazing bit of business by the Club.

Yeah and Roy could have just signed a pre-contract with them and Fulham would have only had to pay 240k in compo.

If it was that easy dont you think Fulham would have done that? It was Watfords interested that sparked this happening.

He's gone, €450K initially rising to €800K with add ons.
He'll then be loaned back for the rest of the season.
Also i'm hearing a 20% sell on clause.
He'll travel there in the next 24 hours for a medical.

You mean after the Pats game surely?
I'd be surprised if its 20%. That's huge.
Great deal.
Possibly the best part of this deal (http://au.setanta.com/portal/article/football?open&articleid=c9264b8a43db095880257324003f3947) could be a happy Roy O'Donovan working hard for the rest of the season with a spring in his step.
