Leeside won on penalties yesterday. Tight game again just about deserved to win though.
Is this the semi-final lineup?
Leeside v Lisselton
Clonmel v maymount

what about balla?

balla won 2 - 1 yesterday
tom daly and alan boyce

balla won 2 1. they should have won by six. they had a load of chances. the ref tried to secrw balla. he booked 7 players and sent one off and gave lisselton every free. good win which puts em into semi finals against peakvilla of leeside. any result from this if played yesterday

Roadend

Corbally left that game after them yesterday. 2-0 up with tem minutes to go and gave away two sloppy goals. After that they still had chances to win it but didn't take them. Clonmel have a handy route to the final.

Sorry its actually Leeside v Ballynanty instead of lisselton.
Have to say i agree with Roadend about Clonmel Reaching the final this maymount team isnt as strong as previous years.
The other semi should be a cracker fancy Leeside with home advantage.

from what i heard both semi finals will be on in Turners cross. dunno if this is true. i reckon clonmel will get to the final. dunno about the other semi the 2 teams are similar enough.i reckon balla will shade it though

Pike out of the big two on penos this year, a bit of a sickner but we cant complain. Two evenly matched teams yesterday and if we had gone through then clonmel couldnt have any complaints either. it'll take a good team to beat them

In fairness i think it could be Towns fourth showing in the final in four years, that is a fair achievment!!they look strong fav now, dere isnt much left opposition wise ans i think whoever won between pike and town yes was guaranteed to go on and win it,For me de Munster Junior Final was on Yesterday.:ball: :ball:

Thats a fair assessment of the match alright. Pike are a very good side, the second best side we have faced all season (Killester are just different class). I was very impressed by the Pike centre half yesterday (dont know his name but he was captain). Best of luck for the rest of the season.

Thanks for the vote of confidence but we''ll be taking nothing for granted. Any side that makes it this far has to have decent ability.

Colm Enright. Colm has been playing like that for years now. It's beyond me how he hasn't been capped over the years. Pa McGarry the other center half yesterday was capped during the week. He's also an excellent center half and had a great game yesterday

I would like to say unlucky to the limerick teams that went out of the MJC yesterday. From reports of the games it sounds cruel luck the way they both went out.You deffo need luck in cup competitions.Lets hope balla does the limerick league proud. Can somebody tell me what can be done about officals who try there best to be the 12 th man for there local side ,i am talking about the kerry officals over balla s game.the stuff i have heard is disgraceful.Surely somebody has being on the end of extremly dodgy ref discesions. Is it OT weekend???

Lads I saw the last two games that Leeside played in meself.......now I certainly wouldnt put them down as favourites to win the competition but they could be serious dark horses. Even though they've only played 5 league games, they've only lost one game all season and that was in the fai junior. Hard team to break down and solid in midfield. They were a better team that Peake and Regional, but only just. Need to find their goalscoring form soon though, cant keep relying on the lottery that is penalties! Few teams will score more than one goal against them

Towelie
27/03/2007, 3:09 PM
Agree with Rebelrover.Their 3 strikers have scored goals regularly at a higher level though so that will come. Ballynanty will probably start as favourites but if Leeside do find their scoring touch they should just shade it.Definately the more evenly matched of the 2 semi finals

Pike haved put in an appeal against Clonmel. Supposedly Clonmels centre half played in the Munster Senior cup with Limerick FC last year and was not eligible to play in the MJC as a result , same reason Derek McCarthy could not play. If this is correct Clonmel only have themselves to blaim as this rule has been well documented. Anyone know the player involved?

I was speaking to a pike man and aparently the protest is two fold, first as outlined above kenneth kiely played in munster senior cup and also FAI senior cup for limerick(against drogheda) and secondly Alan Coady( striker) was sent off against st Michaels 2 weeks ago and clonmel never had a game in between michaels and pike game therefore he never served the automatic one match ban which is mandatoty... they had a game scheduled but they got a walk over from st nicolas but seeminly the TS&DL committee never met in between to officially give a walkover(points haven't been awarded on website yet)..

If both are true clonmel are in trouble.. you have to question how the h*ll their committeee and secretary made this mistake !!! its a pity to see this but rules are rules and are there for everyone...

mick noonan is chairman of the ldmc a week and pike have an objection gone in already its a funny old world.a team gets knocked out of a cup these days and the first thing they do is appeal it,junior football is becoming a fiasco

Unbelievable

as regards the rule about ex LOI players i don't think its anything to do with what competitions a player played in its about when the players were "regraded" as junior players they had to recieve permision from the FAI, Local League and the munster concil to play in their respective competitions
the Munster concil did not give that permission so that is why the likes of Derek McCarthy, Davy Ryan and Shane Guerin cannot play

Whats that got to do with anything. If what is being said is true than Pike have every right to object.

Clonmel broke the rules so why not object.

are ye not sick of hearing about appeals?

young boy
29/03/2007, 1:02 PM
people may be sick of appeals but if clubs are breaking the rules they should be punished. if thats the case pike should have played McCarthy and balla should play there 2 lads.

clonmel should get thrown out and pike back in.

are ye not sick of hearing about appeals?

People are sick of appeals, however would you expect pike to let it go...if illegal players were fielded, then the rules were broken, tell me a club that would not appeal on these grounds..(and I dont mean the length of the pitch)

something has to be done about EL players playing junior the rule is obviously not clear its popped up afew times recently maybe the new LDMC might sort it,we live in hope.......
im sick of objections there was a big 1 in 3B recently

young boy
29/03/2007, 1:58 PM
its not the ldmc. it is the munster council who has this rule. if a player plays more than 5 senior games in the eircom league they cannot play munster junior.

this rule is a bit stupid as u can still play fai no matter how many games you play in the eircom league.

Kenneth Kiely was ok to play as he is an U-21 player. The rule only appliers if you are over 21. In relation to Alan Coady, it is a tricky one. Town got a walkover so they can argue that this counts as a game as it wasn't postponed.
Just have to wait and see

In my opion if you played league of Ireland in 2006 you should not be allowed to play junior football until the 2007/2008 season, the fact that you can go from playing LOI in november and then go and play in the FAI junior cup in december is a joke.

If You play 5 or more senior games it does not matter what age you are...

young boy
30/03/2007, 8:21 AM
i think the rule is if you are under 21 it still does not make a difference. if clonmel get away with this and kiely is left play then surely balla can play there guy no.

I think Ken Kiely did play more than 5 games for the senior team though.

So he would have been illegal.

30/03/2007, 11:05 AM
im totally confused kiely played more then 5 games with the senior team last season so he cant play Mun junior this year,if his U21 he can play but players over 21 can play in the 21s.he won the Mun senior last season with limerick making him cup tied for this seasons Mun junior but he played anyway.....now that i think of it,its straight forward enough.honestly im lost

young boy
30/03/2007, 11:23 AM
how can you be lost.

ken kiely has played more than 5 senior games with limerick. he is under 21 but this does not matter whether your 21 or 41. if you play 5 senior games the MUNSTER COUNCIL has a rule saying you cannot play in the munster junior therefore he is illegal.

i watched limerick fc alot last season and im telling ye now ken keily played alot more than 5 games for limerick. we (carew) lost out on a fai cup fianl and prob an fai winners medal a couple of seasons back for breaking the rules stupidly if clonmel broke the rules they should be kick out simple as that. and if they are throw out there commitee should resign on the spot

young boy
30/03/2007, 1:37 PM
leather has got it wrong. once you play 6 games you cannot play.

therefore clonmel are in right trouble. if clonmel do get away with this then BACKOFTHENET and ALLAB are right. the young lad with balla should be left play.

so its either put pike back in or leave other players that are coming back from loi play
