Just heard that they lost both appeals, although not from an official source but a reliable one, so that would appear to be that

Have Clonmel lost their appeal or is it still going on?

What do they hope to gain? It shows a total disregard to other clubs. They made a mistake - get over it.

I have to agree with whitestripe...
A mistake was made, ruling made, get over it... It is totally unfair to the other clubs to keep dragging this out...

I sincerely hope that they have'nt pulled out. If Towns arbitration is unsuccessful does that make Ballynanty champions by default? Towns decision to go to arbitration was based on the FAI's response to the appeal which completely failed to deal with the issues mentioned in the appeal. Apparently they decided that the TSDL may be in part culpable due to errors in the registration process:confused: The decision was not lightly taken and whilst aware of the delay it causes to the other clubs involved the commitee feels that they owe it to the players and supporters of the club to explore all avenues for a satisfactory resolution.

in fairness they wouldn't go this far if the didn't think they have and very good chance of winning but was is to stop pike appealling the decision if it was to go in clonmel's favour best thing would be to f@*k pike and clonmel out and let maymounth and balla fight it out then in 2 years when the pike clonmel thing is resolved we can start again

They are saving face !!!!!! look they either fcuker up or honest mistake but I must mention.. Paul Tobin didn't play in MJC Final last season with Michaels because of this and the Balla and Pike lads didn't play in this one so its not as if it's a new rule... come on have some dignity !!!!

I don't think Pike did anything wrong so why throw them out?
I feel that based on the various Clonmel Town posts here that they made an honest mistake, especially in the Cup Tied players case. But honest or not a mistake was made that other clubs did not make... I think their continued appeals is really turning the neutrals against them...
Also if they somehow win on appeal does that allow Balla to play their cup tied players in the final (If it's ever played)?

Have to agree.. All Clonmel are doing now is giving themselves a bad name - one which will stick with them for years to come if they don't give up this already lost cause

why don't ye just give the money ye are throwing away to charity. I mean in all fairness ye surely know ye aren't going to get anything out of this. Just hold ye're hands up and take responsibility for the mistake that was made.

This is bringing the good name of Clonmel Town into disrepute. its a waste of money and if they come looking for money from me this year they can eff off. Think what 5 grand would do for schoolboys etc. Its not like they are flush with cash. This is irresponsible and a waste of scare resources.
And that's before you consider what it is doing to the other teams, the competition as a whole etc etc. Can CTFC please cop themselves on?

Does anyone think that after this shambles and what has happened in previous years that the FAI and Munster Junior councils might sit down and sort all these rules out?
Next season each club should be told to get a hold of both rule books for the FAI and MJC and if any of the rules are broken then they are gone from the competition.
Then clubs cant be coming along and going "ah sure it was an honest mistake".

why is everyone giving out about clonmel? especially the pike contingent? pike would do the exact same, pike started all this by objecting to being beaten on the pitch, maybe they should not have played but on the day pike were beaten and i think they should have left it there

i think that when clonmel lose their appeal they should be thrown out of the competition for a couple of years so that the next time they try anything like this they will think twice about it, especially since they are in the wrong

Pike knew in advance of the match that both players were ineligble but decided that they were in a win-win situation. Win and say nothing or lose and protest. Now thats real class:rolleyes:

Sorry to burst your bubble but Town are entitled to pursue this within the structures of the appeals process and are not liable to any further sanction.

Oh ok so now it is Pike's fault for CTFC playing 2 illegal players... I didn't realise that it was up to all the other teams to check that all CTFCs players are eligible for every game. Maybe that's why none of the other teams that CTFC beat in the MJC objected...

pike turn up to play with their best eleven leaving out our best centre forward as we know he's illegal
clonmel turn up to play with two illegal players, but sur they're ****ty rules so we wont bother taking any notice of them.

Where exactly in that statement does it claim that it's Pikes fault????????? Town played the players so obviously it's Towns fault. Thats not in dispute. But which is worse, the team that made the genuine error in playing them or the team that knowingly allowed it so in the event of a loss they could lodge a protest? Were Town at fault? YES. Were Pike honourable enough to point out the mistake beforehand. NO Come down off the cross and give someone else a go.

So if Pike had said to ye before kickoff that those two players were illegal, ye would have said "thanks for that we better change the team"?
And a genuine error? Thats what your saying now. But is that just because ye were caught?
How come all the other teams knew the rule but ye didnt?

If I may ask a question? Did Clonmel know that Pike were aware that they were going to play two illegal players?
