Depends on where you get it...

Apple Crumble and Apple Pie are the same thing where I come from, but the apple tart is different....slimmer and the crust is crunchier....
Apple crumble is only apple crumble if crumble is used. Hard to believe, I know.

Its very simple and we shall have no more silly debate

Its Bun

and i am prepared to use violence against the cake people.

Ah no no need to go that far. We'll just throw 'them' onto to some godforsaken island and Nuke it:D

But you do need cases to make Fairy Cakes...

And are Jaffa Cakes really cakes or biscuits...no doubt at all...they're biscuits!!

Is is Apple Pie, or Apple Tart...........

The list goes on and on and on......

1. No you don't. They're handy, but not essential. Cases are essential for Rice Krispie Buns though, 'cos they'RE BUNS!!!
2. Jaffa Cakes are cakes, hate to have to say it. McVitie's did a demonstration for the English Inland Revenue or someone showing they were cakes to avoid people having to pay the extra VAT on biscuits as a luxury item. This included baking a huge oversize Jaffa Cake as a cake, and letting them go stale. The definition apparently is biscuits go soft, cakes go hard. The Jaffa Cakes went hard. End of.
3. Apple Pie and Apple Tart are not the same thing at all.

From Dictionary.com

apple pie: pie (with a top crust) containing sliced apples and sugar

Apple Tart is a small pie filled with cooked apples, usually having no top crust.

So stann is right on both counts:cool:

Stann....I sense huge amounts of pent-up aggression from you when you talk about Jaffa Cakes.......did you have a bad experience as a child...were you deprived of Jaffas...do you need to talk about it????:D :D

Apple Tart doesn't have to be small though technically you are right, pie is the one with the crust on top and Tart has no crust on top.

Jaffa Cakes are minging. How could u possibly want to eat some sticky jam on a hard spongy thing with fake choc.....yuck....after all meat and mushrooms, Jaffa Cakes are the next most evil foodstuff.

BohsPartisan

Correction, I don't eat meat. There was some meat I liked before I went veggie.

'Fraid not, Joe, saw it on QI if the truth be told! That man Stephen Fry is the fount of all wisdom in this world.

And sorry Magicme, have to say that I love 'em! I think it's the very fact that they are made of rubbish chocolate on rubbish sponge with pretend orange that makes them so great! There's too much of this natural food crap going the rounds, bring back the E numbers I say. But then I like meat too so what do I know...

Now where was I... ah yes, BUNS!!!!! :D

And Cola Cubes.

Kola Cubes used to hurt the roof of my mouth.
Boiled sweets shouldn't be cubes.
There was these other hard cola flavoured sweets with a slightly chewy centre, in a roll. Frosties (http://www.treasureislandsweets.co.uk/acatalog/Frosties.html) they were great...

They're cheaper here... (http://www.handycandy.co.uk/cola-frosties-p-154.html)

Stingers are still available and will be on sale in the Monaghan United Shop tonite....see the treats you are missing out on DFX?????

I didnt eat sweets as a kid....except on Sundays when my parents would let us buy a bag of roses or a roll of munchies when we got the papers and they would be duly shared between my parents, my bro and I.....thats how I got to 18 without needing a filling!

steno

 They nearly had me there, thanks d f x-.

Cake:a sweet, baked, bread, made with or without shortening, and containing flour, sugar, baking powder or soda, eggs, and liquid flavoring.

containing flour, sugar, baking powder or soda, eggs.

Don't think you add these to make Rice Krispy Buns, They're just choclate and Rice Krispy's

Bun:any of a wide variety of variously shaped bread rolls, usually leavened and slightly sweetened or plain, sometimes containing spices, dried currants, etc.

sometimes but not always. Also slightly sweetened with choclate.

Since both are classed as a bread-like food that cancels each other out,
So I think Rice Krispy buns wins hands down:cool: :p

Peadar
