Spot on, Sligoman. Thanks Gareth.
The same thing happened in Slovenia a few years ago. This club Korotan died in the middle of the second round of fixtures. They voided the second round and left the results from the first third. I think that would have been a lot fairer even though it helps UCD out.

bit of a shock that. so what happens now to people who've bought season tickets, bought merchandise etc. Do they get their money back?

Do they ****............. that money is long gone methinks ! Unless season ticket holders can get themselves classed as creditors which is extremely unlikely i dont think they or anyone else for that matter will get a penny from DC

at one level my sympathies are with the CHF fans, never pretty to see any football club die.
bit they were are farce and there are serious questions to answer in Merrion Square,
will this hit the Bozo's financially? i do hope so.

Bohs' last accounts asid rent from Dublin City was to be E30k for the year. Someone said here (or somewhere at least) that they were more or less up to date. So they might lose out on E15k. Not huge, especially given the ground deal.

Incidentally, does this mean Killester United get a bye to the Quarter-finals of the FAI Cup? Or will Monaghan get reinstated?

All the premier clubs will lose at least one fixture, one club wont be playing while everyone else is each week,so can all the clubs claim compensation?
dublin city at the end of a long road ,shels have just begun the journey Agreed:(
Well I think it's bad news, I enjoyed following Dublin City FC and am sad that it ended up this way. I had some great times watching the games and will never forget sending Rovers down to the dungeon of the LOI. Or coming from 2:0 down to beat Derry City 2:3. Great days indeed.
Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.
Most of the LOI clubs are in trouble of one form or another, I hope no other team ends up this way.
All the premier clubs will lose at least one fixture, one club wont be playing while everyone else is each week,so can all the clubs claim compensation?College have them twice. Sure we would have beat them anyways so that'll be 6 points please!

Claim it from whom? The only people you could claim it from are Dublin City (and you won't get anything because they're broke) and the FAI for failing to administer UEFA Licencing properly (and no club is going to sue the FAI because the FAI will make their lives hell).

Give Us Back Our Points You A Hole Delaney !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WHo will you support now Derek ? Or will you just stop and go back to the English League ?
Hard too know what I will do, might just concentrate on my junior soccer.
Wont go back to the english rubbish, hard to think I could support another LOI club, would just feel too weird, I reckon I will just go back to going to whichever LOI game I like the look of but it's just to early to decide, I too depressed.

Agreed. The only reasonable solutions were to void their second series of results (were there any postponed first round games?) or void their entire results. You couldn't give every game unfulfilled as 3-0 walkovers as that would be unfair to the teams who had played them twice and maybe dropped points.

I honestly feel sorry for the fans, I don't care if they had 5 or 50, its always sad for something like this to happen, Sneery however is cnut! And give back all points removed, they were won on the pitch, not off it!!!

What, and then at the end of the season the league table shows that 4 or 5 other teams have played less games than the rest? Like I said not everyone has played them twice!!!...but hey, just so long as Shels don't get shafted...
Endai, posted and then deleted a suggestion of voiding the first series...he obviously deleted it when he realised Shels would still be knocked off the top. :p

The first series of games should have stood. Teams earned/lost points and that deserves to stand.
I deleted it after deciding that its just as bad really, well not quite - but its still crappy, it was just another idea that was popping around in the mind of alot of people.

Don't think this has ever happened in Ireland, has it? Or did Drumcondra pull out mid-season?
Aldershot and Maidstone went bust in England in the early 90s - all results annulled. That's about the only local precedent I can think of.

So when you finally get to Tallaght, I'll dust off my walking sticks, stumble down and hope a goal is still worth 3 points...
Of the top few, Derry profit most out of this. Gutted.
Gutted for DC's fans obviously, always a sad sight when something you love dies. Furious at whats happening as a result though, absolutely livid. Shels and Cork literally get punished for winning games.

Fcuking right, not my fault how the draw of matches were made!!! We won those games as did yourselves cork etc...We didn't win, we got beat by them in our ONLY match against them.
If you are going to come up with a scenario that favours Shels, at least try and find one where every team plays the same number of games.
As said above, expunging either the part completed second series DC results or all their results from both series are the only viable options.
ANd if you chose the former option, you get into another home and away row (as there already is with three series of games).

Ha! True, I'm all over the place, I'm understandably upset by this, we played them, beat them, see nothing for it! First round should stand, that better???
Apologies for not seeing past the steam shooting out of my ears!

None of us will ever all be happy. As it stands, if favours Derry more than anyone. Others are disgruntled. If it changes, Derry fans become disgruntled.
It's a horrible situation. I'm sure if it had worked the other way and you lost 3 more points than Cork or Shels you'd be frustrated and angry too. It's only natural - feel like we've just beed robbed.

I suppose we loose a few bob in rent. :(
The Revenue Commissioners have done more for this league in one year than the FAI and the Clubs put together in 50 years.
Rogue clubs (Scumrocks, Shels, Bohs and Cork) straightened out severely.
Makeweight nobodies eliminated.
Screw Niall Quinn I say let them decide who is in the superbundespremierliga A.
