Heard Darren Whelan from Park going to Olympic

I heard that he was going to Newtown..Good signing for Olympic if he doesgo to them..Hes the best in Shannon, but that wouldn't be hard cos i wouldn't rate any other keeper in Shannon. Derek Byrne is on his way to Newtown aswell as Tom O'Hare.Anyone else on the move???

That is a bit unfair on Skinny.I saw him a lot last season and would have easily rated him in their top three.Ask any of their players.The only thing that baffles me is how each season he can be lobbed at least once.Why,with his height does he not learn to stay on his line........maybe his height makes him think that it is not possible!!!!!!

I'm not trying to be unfair to Skinny or anyother keeper in Shannon.I just don't Think that (Shannon) has many really good keepers with Whelan an exception.He is the best at organising his defence and he can be HEARD doing so.

Yeah...he was on the sick bed in hospital for 3 days my friend...keyhole surgery so i believe..Was down at a few of our games sporting crutches.

Shelbourne , firstly the skinner rumour is only a rumour , pub talk, and secondly you can say what you like as long as the thread you are posting it on is the right one. Personally I would never censor a wise man like yourself , there are moderators on these sites to do this on my behalf.

I heard he wasnt able for the gaa anymore..not fit enough..he played 1 or 2 games last season with Park AFC. Would be a good substitute for Newmarket anyway:p no idea who is managing Newmarket next season...

I heard that Darren Whelan, David Russell, Con Collins, Crusher and Tom Carmody may all be lining out for Avenue next season. Don't think there will be much change at the bridge next year. Heard the Skinny rumour but not from anyone in the bridge.

have it from a good source that Liam Murphy (aka crusher) is returning back to his roots of Newmarket. Don't think he would give Avenue a look in .... (maybe when he's about 40)

I know from talking to him that he is not returning home until November or december and by that time no matter what team he is playing for, the fai and munster junior cups will be well under way. Plus the fact he hasnt played prob since sept 05 so fitness wont be up to standard also.;)
