Excellent bet mate. Togo have lost 7 of their last 9 games including all 3 in the African Nations. They're in disarray over a pay dispute and I'd fancy Korea to take all 3 points.

Michael Owen will be hard at it now, especially with his gambling habit....or perhaps Rooney could clear off his debts with this one (http://www.paddypower.com/bet?action=show_type_by_main_market&ev_class_id=&id=7053&category=SPORTS&selectvcgrp=36589&disp_cat_id=10)

Anyone know the odds on Brasil going out in second round ?
I think that both Italy and the Czechs are capable of beating them.
If they draw with each other and the czechs win on gd the Italians would not be afraid of Brasil. They are never afraid of anyone.
Its worth a sneaky fiver.
Seriously.
I was just going to post the same thing! The Czechs (Koller's injury not as bad as they thought) and Italy were so impressive that I thought you'd get decent odds. 7-2 is ridiculously tight. It might lengthen if they impress against Croatia.

By the sounds of it all they have to do is announce a pregnancy.
Collen is also at 4-1 to be pictured in the tabloids wearing official english jersey not at english game. easy money for wayne. just put her in jersey and tell her to go on the pi$$ with her friends. Bound to make the papers.

Had a little bet on the Swiss V France at 5-1
Seems value, you could hardly split the teams in qualifying.
Mind you, there were a pile of draws in that group.

My luck is definetly not in so maybe forget everythin i may have said before. I have done 3 5 euro 1st scorer/correct score doubles in the last 3 days.
Pauleta + Portugal to win 2-0
Pirlo + Italy to win 1-0
Kaka + Brazil to win 2-0
What are the chances?

Yes the Swiss France draw was a dead cert (with hindsight), I should have
got on that but I got tempted by the big price for a Swiss win.
I always go for a big price so I don't have to put much on so I never lose
much, but then again I hardly ever win either

I was going to back Togo, T&T and Saudi Arabia all to get no points before the tournament started but the match I was least confident in was Tunisia to beat the Saudi's. Saudi Arabia won their qualifying group which included South Korea and I can see them getting a draw today. In saying that, I do hope Tunisia get the win.

It's funny how I can remember the Mexico game as clear as a bell but I
have no recollection of the Dutch game!!
Did it go to penalties.
Maybe Mexico were the only team to beat us over 90 mins?
Off topic I know but just to answer- Holland beat us 2-0 in 90 mins afaik,2nd goal went straight through Packie Bonners hands.

I can't believe they've overtaken Italy. Shevchenko was clean through after 10 minutes and no doubt would have scored but it was strangely disallowed for offside. The ref sends a Ukraine player off after half time and gives Spain a peno for absolutely nothing. I wouldn't get carried away with this result.

Im not getting carried away with the result but Spain look like one of the best teams in it.They have one of the best squads when you consider who they have on the bench.
Italy are not a great side in my opinion.Good defence and Forwards but they dont convince me in midfield.Pirlo did well in the last game but I think he is past his best.

Past his best at 26? Every single Italian player is in his prime bar Gilardino. Gattuso and Cameronesi can still come into midfield. They've been top class the past year easily beating us, Holland and Germany with excellent attacking football. When talking of Italy's midfield you have to include Totti and imo there's nobody in world football better than him at setting up goals. You also didn't see anywhere near the best of De Rossi on Monday. The best is yet to come. :)
I'm not saying Spain have no chance, of course they do but the odds drop based on today's game is a bit mad. Spain have been playing like that the past couple of years.

i think he will not play as well as he did a few years ago when he first went to Milan.Think Gattuso and Cameronesi are over rated, but Totti is still top class.
We will have to see how they do anyway, but think Italy wont go too far.
Ronaldhino may have the slight edge on Totti for setting up goals. Heavy sarcasm added

I think Ronaldinho is by far and away the best player in the world as he has more of an influence on matces than just scoring and setting up goals. He controls games. Totti though is the king of setting up goals. He played 24 Serie games for Roma last season (got injured in February). He scored 15 goals and set up 11 more. Consider that Roma spent almost the entire season without their 2 strikers, Montella (http://soccernet.espn.go.com/players/stats?id=12036&cc=5739) and Nonda (http://soccernet.espn.go.com/players/stats?id=10548&cc=5739), it is amazing how he even managed to set up so many. With those strikers in the team he wouldn't be scoring as many but he'd be getting a lot more assists.
Anyway, this is the betting forum. :)

It was worth a shot. At that price i'd have been kicking myself if they'd pulled off a win. I only put on the minimum bet allowed on betfair €4. There was plenty of money available at that price (about €2000 if memory serves me correctly). They were willing to loose €104 just to win €4 (- 5% tax).
Obviously english fan/fans who believed that no matter how bad the team were playing that they would still win. With the way england were playing in the 1st half I thought they'd only manage the 0-0 draw. Don't know what gave them such confidence.
As it turned out I was wrong they were right and i'm sure they'll enjoy the pint that my €4 will nearly buy.

Just to let you know that you can put any size bet on Betfair. To put a €1 bet on do the following. Choose your bet and put the odds to something ridiculous which won't be matched. Then change the stakes in your bet to €5 and there'll be 2 seperate bets (one for €4 and one for €1). Cancel the €4 bet and change the odds of the €1 bet to something that will be matched.
It does come in handy when you want to throw a euro or 2 on a big long shot. :)

You are better off using a Laser card as there's no fee for taking the money off or putting it back (hopefully) on to your card. There's a fee I think its 1.5%
for credit cards.

I was going to back the Czechs but I as a bit busy and Ghana scored
before I was ready to lay it. I decided to give it a miss after that (could still
have bet in running).
Gonna put 15p on the USA to win for a laugh.(9-1)
I think it is a good idea to watch the first five minutes and then bet in
running though, at least you can then see which team has turned up and which team has not AKA Mexico yesterday.
