You play very well, very skillful on the wing harpbear :D
:D
Did you get your lawn cut yesterday!!!;)
Here you haven't changed a bit.Still as passionate in the game. Good to catch up with the Swinford boys again. Mike kept pulling the Swinford badge toward me. The result suited youse more than it did us. We're near the top ya know. Great when you can enjoy the game like that. What did ya say to Gill that got both of youse booked. I was ready to get in their for the fistycuffs but sadly it wasn't to be.
We were chatting about the famous Bombers fistycuffs recently. Aah different times.

Managers who take money from junior clubs are always on
the lookout for the next big job.
Judging by the goings on at Finn Harps there may be a job going there for him but they wouldn't have him back and I dont even think Dykes would be so silly to consider it. For anyone who wants to get an idea of the 'crap' associated with Senior football and what they are getting themselves into just take a look at the goings on on the Finn Harps forum at irishfootie.net (http://www.irishfootie.net). The money just isn't coming in, they cant default on a tax payment and the club is torn apart.
They have no loyalty,
and it only leads to bitterness in clubs.junior teams are
scraping together to fund their teams from lotto and
a huge amount is being lost to people who have no heart
in the club.I wonder if the people who are gathering this
money are happy with what is going on.:ball:[/QUOTE]
I can tell ya at the Bombers we may not have much money but me have a great bunch of people who keep the club afloat with lotto, flag days etc. Were it not for that support we wouldn't have the fantastic facilities we have and the equipment etc. It runs within tight margins but I wouldn't have it any other way because we choose as we know we have to live within our means. You can never forget the people who got you to where you are and this often happens when clubs raise their sights. Its Junior Football after all. I see it in Senior Football where the clubs may forget the community they belong to.

Dont wish to harp on what was good or bad about the game on Sunday only to say that it was good for Mayo Football and all those who are involved with the game.
To be fair to Celtic they put alot of hard honest work into making there grounds exceptable to the standards what was required by the F.a.i.
and if nothing else it was agreat day for those who did turn up.
what I did notice on the day was the number of other Mayo Clubs that turned up to suport Celtic. the same could'nt be said about there own town.
everyone no my veiws on dykes felt on the day he lacked the confidance to play 2 up front and paid to much respect to rovers.
I supose his biggest fear was to get beaten by a bigger margin.
For Celtic its back to the drawing board and its up to Dykes to prove he has a future with Celtic?
I think he will see his contract out this year then move on to bigger and better things.

sinabhuil did you get your challenge game? I did phone to offer but got no reply. Are Cross developing as you hoped? It is good for Mayo football if we could get a strong team in what is a big catchment area.
Jaun Pablo what is happening in Ballinrobe? You were a lot of peoples tips for promotion, is it just getting used to the new manager or a transition year? I am pleasently surprised by Glenhest. After relegation they were in danger of slipping but they seem to have steadied the ship.
Division 1 seems to be very interesting this season. I thought Charlestown were going to run away with it but it seems they are stumbling and Manulla B are putting in a run. At the moment everyone else seems to be taking points off each other. I think this one will run to the wire.

The Blue Bombers are on the move in Division One. Great to see. Looking good for Manulla B though but it has opened up. Big weekend coming up and could be very defining.

Thanks mate. Only got the message on Monday. O2 w??????.
Team progressing. Smallish panel means we are not strong throughout the team. Some players have not committed as they said they would. However, except for the first game, we are competing well. Silly mistakes costing us games. Also a little naive when it comes to the physical stuff. I feel the future is bright with a better squad next year. Dont' completely write us off yet. Our home pitch also a problem - too small and too bumpy.

Glenhest Rovers always did well in the second tier following relegation and nearly always got promoted the following season.

Glenhest Rovers will get promoted this year back up to the super league. very well organised side, physical and can play abit as well - very fast strikers.

There is a very interesting football link from the FAI website. It is mayo.fai.ie and it is to do with the Mayo Soccer Partnership. On it you can check out your tables, results, fixtures and all the news that affects Mayo football and there will be reports from the Kennedy Cup next week on it. Definitely worth the look. Do NOT type in www. when you are checking it out.

Fahy Rovers lost 3-1 to castlebar
celtic last night in milebush. An early goal and one either side of half time for Celtic secured it.
Joe keane was outstanding for Fahy and surely deserves to get a Mayo call up soon.

WAS WATCHING THE CASTLEBAR TOWN V CHARLESTOWN GAME - IT WAS A CRACKER. one stage town were down 3-1 and fought back, they only had two subs, seemingly a major injury crisis in the club. They relay very heavily on their keeper and tall red head in defence. They impressed with their will to win,on another day charlestown would have torn them apart.

looks like ballina could do it this year, unless westport can turn things around. celtic have alot of ground to make up, it could be a bit much for them. not lookin good this year for S&F, losing big name players makes a huge difference. other teams no looking good, ballyglass & manulla.

Town keeper is very big, very agile and very good. The big red head is a good player who sprays the ball wide and rarely seems to be caught for pace. Young Maughan is also a good passer, pretty fast. He could do with working on his fitness. :p Nice team who have been good to us since deciding to join the league.

Jaysus I don;t think agile would be a word that Castlebar B team would have used from what one of their players told me.
His brother is the centre half who was a striker for Castlebar B team for the last few years I think.

He has not signed yet, few lose ends to tie up from what I hear
irishyop,i played against C/Bar Town for charlestown and we could have scored at least 10 goals, but only for their keeper,he is big,but is very agile. doesn't say much for celtic when they play a centre half as a striker - credit is due for castlebar town, they really stuck it up to us and its nice to see a castlebar team with just castlebar people.fair play the town.

Its town who have turned him from a striker to a centre half. From the games I have ever seen the lad play he was always up front and I think that 3 or 4 years ago he was top scorer for the C or B team.
I was at your game against Partry there, who are the 2 lads who play up front for ye, one has bleached hair I think, where has Jordan gone to? He was due to make a come back for ye this year according to himself but I did not see him that day against Partry.
Did ye have a player called up for U17? Where was he playing that day?
Can ye hold out for Promotion?

I don't want to sound to hard on Cross Celtic even though they have just joined the Mayo League.
But The Mayo League has standards when it comes to pitches and to say the lease I was very disapointed to see how poor the condition of Cross football pitch was in.
It looked nothing like a pitch with thristles growing everywere grass looked like a medow. apart from a nice set of goals and cornor flags I would not have reconised it.
Now the league its seem to have lowered its standard to allowing a club to play in these conditions.
I would just hope over the comming days that you might get out there and cut the pitch and maintain the high standards that we have maintained over the years in promoting good pitches.
As I said dont want to be hard on ya, but for everyone sake just take a good look.

We were let down with original pitch. Farmer let us use the field at Knock. However GOOD NEWS.
Problem rectified. New pitch obtained at Glencorrib village community sportsground. First game commencing 2 July vrs Swinford. The old pitch actually worked against us. Try to get a pitch in a GAA dominated rural area. Not easy. Fair play to Mayo league and Glencorrib Community Pitch trustees.

Had ye to buy a pitch Sinabhuil? I can imagine how hard it is alright, the GAA have a local lotto there already do they? So I imagine it is hard to creep in on that!
Best of luck with it. I am sure it can only get easier!

What is happening in Mayo football? Has everyone lost interest? No one seems to be posting on these forums, the soccerbot tables are not being updated and they don't have nearly half as much data as they used to carry (top scorers and club stat breakdowns) and the teletext is notoriously slow to update.
Are the league committee just not bothered informing the public of the progress of the leagues. I know lads in Austalia and elsewhere who rely on Soccerbot (or used to) to keep them informed of our clubs results and standings. I know that results are e-mailed to members of the clubs but this doesn't help the rank and file or the fans.
This forum has become very muted with a distinct lack of debates (not insults or verbal attacks, there is a difference). At one time it was being paid attention to by the league and I am sure it made some rethink strategy but again that I am sure is not the case any more.
Come on everyone there is still a lot of football being played out there and a lot happening and if any of the league management committee are reading this update soccerbot and keep it updated.

I can understand your unhappy with the league but what can 5 members of a league do,with all the other jobs they are tied up with.
ie going around europe checking nets and cornor flags. working for Eircome league getting team sheets for the media.
Soccerbot was got so the league could put its fixtures together and tables even though Jd is been paid enough to provide what you require
You could offer yourself to work on the Mayo League and give them a dig out while others are swaning off around around europe.
