I understand that the arrangement at Lansdown Road is that the FAI, the IRFU and the governent each have a share in the stadium but that the IRFU still owns the land under it.

Would that arrangement suit this situation? Shels get the use of a new stadium but don't benefit from any future land sale?

That is exactly the deal with lansdowne, the IRFU own the land 100%. Now in reality they cannot sell it once the stadium is there, but the FAI have no interest on the freehold. A vital difference than the proposed deal.

If I was a bohemian member, that's what I'd be arguing for.

Thats ablout the size of it but I reckon within 3 years BOhs and Shels will be playing at Abbotstown and Pats and Rovers playing in Tallaght.

And I won't be going to the games...

Speaking with a few of the lads last night and one of them seemed to think that Shels moving to Dalyer was the first step to both clubs merging together. I suppose that it could possibly be seen as that. Make you wonder though .... Shelemians, Bohbourne, Bohlebians, who knows ?? ;)

I have good sources in both clubs and, while nothing is decided yet, negotiations have been started to put a name on this proposed super-club.

Both teams identities need to be well represented so they have decided that "Shel" will definately form part of the new name and "Boh" will be a placeholder for Bohemian FCs great tradition, and since both clubs names finish with an "N" sound it was a no-brainer really

My source in the Bohs Board negotiating team told me that they really played hardball with Ollie and Finbar Flood and I can exclusively reveal to you that the new clubs name will be...

Shelbohrne Football Club.

They tell me they are getting a great deal on the land sale too...
