Neville is a right tosser who showed his "class" by his actions. Anyone see the picture of ferdinand heading the goal in the herald. The jammy ba$tard had his eyes closed:mad: .

I'm by no means a Ferdinand fan (or a Manc Lover!) but that's a little harsh. It's almost impossible not to blink (or close your eyes) when contact is made between your head and the ball - watch almost anybody head a ball and you'll see. If a photo is taken at the right time then it will look like the player has his eyes closed. There could be 10 photo's seconds apart with different eye lid positions in them. I personally didn't think there was anything 'jammy' about the goal. Just my thoughts! :)

Well said Karlos sounds like sour grapes and Neville maybe a tosser but so is Carragher and Gerrard and whole lot of other footballers in the game. I did not see anything wrong with Nevilles celebrations. At least players are showing a bit of passion and love for the club. In this day of Huge wages and mercenarys its good to see somebody actually cares about the club. Not a Utd fan either.

i don't know what many see in rooney, i couldn't keep track of the amount of times he overplayed the ball and lost posession. fairly regularly acheives the spectacular but still consistently fails to do the simple. i'm a united fan and i'd get rid of him and ronaldo and buy a decent f*ckin midfielder. who needs blockbuster volleys from thirty yards if you have the right midfielder(s) to put it on a plate. rooney can be nice to watch when it comes off but overall typifies "back to the 80s for united" it seems

It will be the highlight of another meaningless season for Man Utd. Just like their win at Highbury last season (a year ago) was the only highlight of that season.

They have been in terminal decline since the trebel, they lack quality players all over the park, and even now when they finally replace Schmeicel they've brought an average, old goalkeeper who they'll need to replace in less than 2-3 years anyway.

Out of Europe, no chance of winning the league, news of a major profit slump, and with a massive debt to service things really do look gloomy for them.

NeilMcD

I dont think they have much of a chance in the league as I can't see them catching Liverpool. But there is a 50/50 chance that they will go through against Liverpool. If you take the league games to be a guide. The game will go to a replay and Man Utd will sneak the game at home.

Welcome to Anfield!! We will whup your butts!! Bring 'em on!!! :D Gary Neville will be a quiet little boy by the time Stevie G and the boys are finished with him. :D Bet he won't be running to the Kop ripping the jersey off after scoring a goal; not that he will 'cos he wont!!;)

NeilMcD

I'm sure if the comment was debate-worthy rather than a needless jibe about Liverpool fans, then Jockser or anyone else would've debated it, Neil..

But as it isn't, it wasn't. Get over the "this a free world and do what I want and you can't stop me" childish tirade.

DFX, are you actually reading the thread. Look at Jocksers previous comments. Firstly he says that Man Utd only have the league Cup to play for this season which is inaccurated cause they are still in the FA Cup so his knowledge of football is seriously lacking there. Then Thunderblaser has a go against Gary Neville. Alll I did was state an opinion which is that Gary Neville will probably not go running to the KOp or Liverpool fans as they Liverpool fans have a history of complaining to the police on such issues. I am sure after teh FA have charged him that he would not want the same thing to happen again.

Answer this question

Why is Robbie Fowler a hero for holding up 5 fingers to Man Utd fans and at teh same time Gary Neville is a scumbag or cheat or whatever name LIverpool fans call him for celebrating a winner at Old Trafford in front of the Liverpool fans.

Is this not double standards.

my last 2 posts were tongue in cheek......i thought youd have the intellegence to see that....sorry my mistake!
I have against against nevilles celebration...it shows he has passion for his club just like carra has for liverpool.
The police where the ones who brought the issue up saying it was the wrong thing to do NOT liverpool fans!!!

So is the intelligence remark tongue in cheek then.

Also there were plenty of Liverpool fans on Sky Sports news whinging about Gary Nevilles celebration. So it was not just the police that brought it up in the media.

LOL you name me 1 set of fans who wouldnt go nuts in the heat of the moment if their biggest rivals stole the game in the last minute and their captain runs not to celebrate with his team mates but runs to the opposition fans to wind them up!!!
point is you CANT can you!??!?!
The POLICE were the ones who advised manu and the FA the look into these actions NOT liverpool fans

Sorry Neil but your wrong i am afraid the Greater MANCHESTER Police brought it to the FA yes fans on sky had a go which is their opinion but you said Liverpool fans went to the police which they didn't now don't reply trying to say they did cause clearly it was the Greater MANCHESTER police!!!!

i'd imagine fans of all clubs would get upset - but i can think of only 1 club's fans that go running to media with phone in shows etc. (consistantly - remember rooney's winner in anfield last season and the outrage over his celebration) over the same issue. and then the keyboard warriors (d-f-x above) get upset when its commented on

maybe, united fans would do the same, its just liverpool don't seem to score that many winners against united ;)

Thing is though, Fowler got booked for that because it was seen as un-needed incitement, while neville got nothing (on the day, have to mention that before some smart arse decides to inform me bout the fa charge:rolleyes: ) for a far more over the top performance. And ferguson has the neck to say he's being victimised because he plays for man u:rolleyes: .

It may have wound L'Pool fans up but most would take it on the chin and get over it. So some fans moaned about it on a talk show, big deal:eek: . Is anyone seriously trying to say that you wouldn't have got the same reaction from some fans of other clubs in the same circumstances. THere are fans at every club who get upset over minor things that most fans accept as part and parcel of the game. There is no way it's exclusively L'Pool fans. Now can we move on from this petty argument.

The comment was made more in jest than anything else for fcuks sake. Don't take everything so seriously mate. Has to be said though that for a centre back, ferdinand is poor in the air. 3 goals in 4 or so seasons is pi$$ poor for a centre back of ferdinands size. Know centre backs are there to stop goals but you'd hope for 3-5 a season from him when you consider he goes forward for every free and corner.

Well Liverpool fans seem to always the ones that dominate every phone show. I am not sure what they do up in Liverpool but any time I have the misfortune to accidently turn on a phone show its seems to be a Liverpool fan. They never got off the air during Gerard Houlliers reign. It used to amuse me that you would get some some fool from the the middle of nowwhere in Ireland ringing into Today FM saying "We" and talking about Man Utd or Liverpool or Spurs or whoever it was.

tut tut lads..

I am not one bit bothered about Neil original comments because I don't care about Neville and what he did and what other fans impression they have of Liverpool fans be it right or wrong and exactly why I never commented on it itself. What I have an issue with is Neil's "right to comebacks and debate on it in a free world" type tetchy reaction to jockser's post on it.

Since it seems to be the hot topic, as I said above, I couldn't care less what Neville did, but there is no comparison to Fowler. You don't run 40-50 yards, 'show his passion and commitment' so blatently and then come out in the press and say "I didn't mean to upset Reds fans"....

However I couldn't care less whether he gets banned as it doesn't bother me - I am concerned with getting on with the league. I am also not one bit bothered by the defeat last week because in the long run, we have a much rosier future in my opinion, borne through by the match last week. Any Utd. fan who thinks the long term health of the club is remotely repaired by last week is deluding themselves.

Yes and these for gob****es too. Its double standards on both parts. What bothers me about football is that supporters always go with their heart rather than their head on these issues. There is double standards amongst every group of supporters. If something is wrong its wrong, it should have not bearing on who

I agree Liverpool fans are the biggest supportered club with Man Utd in this country but that just says it all as they both happen to be the most successful. I just wonder how these guys get so worked up about teams in England. Calling them We and it effecting their moods and so passionate that they feel the need to call ilnto a radio show is crazy.

Totaly factually incorrect. Incident was reported by Metropolitan Police who witnessed the incident - report was filed before game was even over if you actually check. The two fans who recived treatment at the game never made formal police statements. Seems to be acceptable excuse when incidents are reported by the Manchester police.

http://archives.tcm.ie/irishexaminer/2002/01/31/story22189.asp

I'd nearly gaurantee that when someone gets a coin hurled in their direction by a player then more than the one person it hit will report it but to suggest they all calimed they were hit by it is laughable but not surprising

There's obviously a huge difference between ten people in a crowd getting a coin fu*ked at them & complaining over ten people reporting someone doing a dance infront of them after a goal ffs.

It should be added that the person who threw the coin was a fu*kin knob and rightly has been banned from Arsenal games for life............

............ but will be granted an excemption when he's playing for Liverpool...!:p

The Arsenal fan was also banned.
