Do you want Rovers to stay up or go down?

It all depends, If they face Dublin City then i'd probably prefer rovers to stay in the premier division, even though i can't stand Shoddy roddy,
If they face Cobh then i'd prefer to see cobh in the premier, i love the long away trip's it get's rid of another Dublin team's (i think there's far to many) as as i say i can't stand Shoddy roddy, No problems with rovers as a club and the 400 club have done great thing's but it would be nice to cut down on the dublin teams just slightly
Thats my opinion anyway:D

love for Rovers to go down, there support would be great for the smaller clubs, as there gate receipts would improve, i.e. Monaghan, Killkenny etc.
Love to see Home Farm,(Dublin) up, so we can send them back down again.

If Rovers sack Roddy, I would like them to stay up. It will show that the club once the most famous and feared in Ireland still have some ambition and respect for themselves. If however, they persist with him, then I wish them all the ill will they deserve.
Cobh would be my preference of the two that could come up, but that looks very unlikely now, given Saturdays fixtures.

I'd like to see them stay up. I think they add more to the premier division. My feeling is that Dublin City or Cobh would go straight back down again.
The premier division needs to become more competitive rather than less.
Would love to see rovers come down for the same reasons as grasshopper

JoeSoap I'm Really not too worried about our current form
A little birdie tells me that a considerable amount of money will be pumped
into the club over the coming months and as ive mentioned in other threads
we have secured the services of jason mcguinness and declan obrien already
so I feel fairly secure in saying that we will soon be on the up and up again
I really hope the homeless go down but unfortunaltely I dont think they will......... Still It's a funny old game init so who knows
miracles do happen just ask any liverpool fan

go down. nothing against rovers, just have always wanted one of the bigger clubs (4 dubs, derry and cork) to go down, and give div 1 a bit of a higher profile - even if its only for one season

I hope Rovers stay up .The 400 club put alot of hard work to keep Rovers afloat and to be honest Rovers always bring out the crowds at turners cross.

I don't know.
I'd like to see Cobh go up but I don't want Dublin City back. Also, I'd prefer to see teams with big attendances in the Premier. And what the Rovers fans have done is inspirational.

I would liek to see Rovers go down - it might change a few attitudes in the Premier to the First Division. My worry is a certain element among Rovers fans. I can just imagine that a certain element in Limerick (not fans just scumbags) would love a hop off of a certain element of Rovers "fans".

Would like them to stay up in one way as they are a great club. On the other hand it would be great to play them again if they got relegated. Then would have a few games with big crowds ie Rovers, Harps and Galway

I hope they go down and Cobh to come up. 1 less Dublin team and atleast 9 Munster Derbys altogether if it happens. Dublin City have the advantage for the play-offs at the moment, but Athlone won't want lose their last game of the season eatier.

I can't see any board of directors in the premier wanting a 22 team league. It would be an absolute farce and I would hold eternal grudges against any First Division club who would be voting for it out of complete self-interest and selfishness!

its absolutly mental that they havent a format in place for next season. only the FAI.
We should be discussing the season after next at the very earliest.

Stay up please , we need all the points we can get next season and got feck all from Dublin City this season , after 6 years in the wilderness I would not wish the first ddivision on anyone although if they are relegated there would probably be a 22 team league next season.
hope they stay up so we can renew our rivalry.
Q.) What rivalry is this you speak of? :p

Even if rovers stay up, will they get a licence from the FAI, or has the UEFA licence gone now???

What part of the ground are your esteemed committee members selling off cheap this week?
How could Cobh or CHF get a Premier licence?

think it would be a worse premier div without them, so for me its stay up.

Why shouldn't Dublin City get a licence? If its the fact they don't own their own ground - well that applies to Rovers too.

We will get a license because the club is run properly now.
It takes two thirds of the clubs to vote for the format next season. So for example if 15 clubs vote for a 22 team division then thats what we'll have.

Well assuming that all the first division clubs would prefer this, that still means that 5 premier clubs will have to vote for it. I don't think that will happen somehow.

It's not about voting, it's about clubs failing to get a licence. If any significant amount of clubs fail in their licence application, the whole process will be deemed null and void and the 2 divisions merged into 1.

unlikely ill admit, but the so caleed 'yo-yo' clubs, those who are regularly up and down, yourselves, harps, sligo, ucd, home farm might hedge their bets.
improbable, but certainly not impossible.
If they are playing Cobh then go down if they are playing Dublin City stay up.

The current season is better for yoyo clubs as they get boost in attendances when bottom of the Premier & then top of the first division. Would Sligo or Harps get 5000 at a mid-table 22 team division?
Besides how do you fit 42 league games into a season with 2 week break.

wouldnt be so sure. i used the phrase 'hedging'. 1 guaranteed home game v Rovers, Cork etc a year vs possibly 2 every second season or so.
I dont know the voting intentions of individual clubs, but i wouldnt assume prem clubs will vote against the 22 team set up because they are prem clubs.
