Dundalk haven't produced merchandise that was on the lager side since their days being sponsored by Harp.
At least there's one awake EYG ;)

Yeah I think the same...Reckon it will be one that young people will be tracking down online to wear in 20 years time!
Yep. It's like the rovers purple one from 1993/94. So popular they brought it back recently. Absolutely horrendous looking really, but in a great way. One of my favourites.

Have they ever heard of lighting when taking a photo?

Yeah, in terms of a green and gold mix, hard to top the 2024 home:

That Kerry away jersey is class.
The new Bohs home jersey will only appeal to those that remember Billy Young and that outstanding 1976 team.
So hopefully more XL's than M's on the O'Neills assembly line.
Presumably the Kneecap jersey is next one to be "revealed."
I like both Kerry jerseys to be honest! And that 2024 version.

Re club merchandise, there is not one tee shirt on the Bohemian web site. I have 6 or 7 that I regularly wear but there has been nothing new for about a year. Are your clubs the same?
Sizeable re-stock and a few new designs up now.

Also new away just dropped, nice too.
Away one (Kneecap) is gorgeous.

I don't think it's as nice as the previous Bohs Palestine kit - nowhere near it tbh - and personally I think it more looks like Kneecap merch, than Bohs merch; for context, I'm thinking of when Skint records sponsored Brighton - that was a seagulls jersey through and through.
This collaboration doesn't sit right with me for some reason and I can't really get to the nub of it. I've no issue with Bohs maximising their commercial revenue, but I dunno, maybe it's having that common denominator between the two commercial arms of this venture not sitting right; I hope Bohs benefit from this as much as Kneecap will.
(if any of that makes sense).
Interesting - and I couldn't stand the Bohs Palestine kit. Aesthetically, I much prefer this one but I'm not sure I see it in the same league commercially as some of the other ones but I also don't see how it benefits Kneecap that much (like, no more or less than Fontaines for example). Is your problem Dan's involvement on both sides? I think ACLAi's involvement keeps it all passing the sniff test.

Lambert is COO of Bohs and heavily involved in the commercial side of things . He’s also manager of Kneecap and regardless of where some of the money from the release of the shirt goes , it’s also going to benefit the band he manages publicity wise .
I’m not sure how that passes any sniff test

Honestly, hes accountable to the members and the members via the board. i think beyond that there seems to be an acknowledgement he has put trojan work into the club and that the bands hes partnering with dont really need the PR. But thats an outside perspective
It sure doesnt seem that anyone meaningful has a problem with it so in the round thats their right

There’s never been a band in the history of music that didn’t need the PR or else why would they have managers and agents ?

Is there any point discussing/commenting on a new kit on this thread, without providing a link to it for everyone else?

This works on the assumption that Bohs are a bigger name/brand than Kneecap. Which is surely deeply questionable.

Sorry - got it in an email from the club and I’m not on social media. Here’s a link to an article: https://m.independent.ie/sport/soccer/league-of-ireland/bohemians-unveil-new-kneecap-jersey-for-2026-season/a361964127.html

Yes we'd a similar Umbro one in 2006/2007 I think. It's nice and simple as you say.

Very weird photoshoot for a new shirt. Did the player who was supposed to be in that chair not show up or something? :D

What’s the story with the black crest for Rovers ?
'The Home Kit as usual has our famous Hoops, with a black neck and sleeve trim. The blacked out crest is a nod to our 1993/94 home jersey. Each green hoop has a cross stitch threading as well as tonal green design detailing. A jersey that combines old and new for what is sure to be a fan favourite.'

Same price as Derry City, though we seem like outliers at this point.
Shelbourne, also O'Neill's, charging €75. That's the same as GAA county tops, and most IL jerseys.

Youd wonder what the margin is on a kids kit at €50 euro that they all seem to be. Prime candidate for a loss leader for the clubs youd think

Crazy prices.
£100 for English Premier League tops has started to become a thing too.

I've seen higher. Seen a United one in sports direct for €150 couple years ago. Could not believe it. €75 might be a lot for LOI but I'd pay that a thousand times before being gouged like that for English tops. Not like they desperately need the money either..

3/10 First Division clubs without a main sponsor on their kits at today’s League launch (Athlone, Longford & Wexford). Not a great look so close to the season. Anyone know if they will be sorted by opening week?

We haven't had one for a while. It actually is literally a great look as the kits look so much better but I know what you mean.

28/01/2026, 9:47 PM
Anyone know why that is? Is it just a trendy thing to do now? Roma are the same and I think Chelsea too.
I was worried last year that Bishopgate might be pulling out or something and that was the reason for their absence, but I guess not?
I like a good sponsorless jersey anyway, much cleaner. Very rarely does a sponsor enhance a jersey
Longfordian
28/01/2026, 10:12 PM
I'm guessing in our case they may have reduced the money they're spending, and the ground name sponsorship probably gives better value for money given we're not going to be on TV or have pictures of the shirt in the media very often. For the likes of Roma and Chelsea I presume they're holding out for more money than they're being offered currently.

Sponsorless jerseys do look nice but a brand on the front is a commercial part of football globally. Not a great indictment of the First Division if 30% of its clubs can’t find a sponsor who think it’s a worthwhile investment. The FD does need a revamp of sorts to get more attention.
Chelsea are holding out for 60m a year, fair play to Longford and Athlone if they’re doing similar!

I'd have thought Wexford wouldn't have any bother having a sponsor on theirs so I'm surprised at that, whatever about us and Athlone

i think most people would agree its a nicer look but I also think theres and element where you should have something on it in an era where even your local parish GAA club has something on the jersey, it doesn't communicate confidence to have no sponsor, it screams the club is struggling or and i do think this is valid, has no cache in the community
The goodwill piece is important because calling it sponsorship is generous with the implication that there is any commercial value to be returned from the deal, its closer to charity or philantrophy
