Chance for us to get over the horror show last week and nothing less than a win is good enough imo.
With the squad we have we should be doing better than drawing with PAts from 2-1 and losing to Bohs from 2-0.
We need to be winning matches against title rvals or we risk another year of being there or there abouts in a league where no one pushes on....rant over.

Another week where every match is impoertant in this crazy league.

I think you're being slightly demanding with that. A draw would hardly be a surprise, though I do think you'll win.

We've the shortest odds of any team PD team this weekend. I can understand why, but Waterford did beat us earlier on at the Brandy, and I just can't trust us not to concede. In saying that, Waterford have shipped seven goals in their last two games, so we should be scoring at least.

We need to be take it to teams we are so passive at the start of games go for the throat attack attack attack, leave Daniel on the bench please, he is tired and play the young fellas.

Be interesting to watch the midfield battle in the Shamrocks v Shelbourne game on tv. Hope for a capacity crowd and an entertaining match.
The first goal will be vital in the game in Galway (hopefully it is the home size). The recent rain should help with the condition of the pitches which I am sure are not that bad really. Crowds should be up on last Friday with the decent weather today.

Bray 2 up after 11 against Kerry. Kerry have made 3 subs in 16, 17 and 20 min.

That's bizarre. Can't remember ever seeing anything like that. Has to be a mix of injury and tactical you'd imagine?

Rovers take the lead in the live game. Kearns really won't be happy with that - close to howler territory

Rovers should have been 2 up, up the other end 1-1. Shels had been miles off it. Game on now.

Pretty much damage limitation already by that stage - the way Kerry have been playing in recent games, if the new squad is falling flat, might as well go back to the local lads.

An entertaining game, but a lot of basic errors for the last two champions I thought, from Kearns for the opening goal to the daft backpass to let Mipo in in the 90th. Caffrey should have buried his second half chance and asked questions later (was there a handball shout when the ball was on the ground? Looked it, but no real call for it) and Kearns also got away with a big fumble in the first half.

Interesting to see how the two get on in Europe this year - those are the sort of mistakes you get punished for in Europe, but we've been benefitting from them in recent years.

Love the drone shots of the match on VM.

Shocking again from rovers. We can kid ourselves but it's just not good enough.
Club with the biggest budget by miles looking very average. It would be in.possible to have this squad not tipping around the top of this division. 2 points from 3 matches. I'm gutted but not surprised
If anything sums up the abject level of performance from this group it is that 7th place is 3 points off the top.
Something wrong for this group to be so bad

Dreadful first half from Harps in Cobh, but a good bit of fight shown in the second half and created plenty of chances, so some positives to take from it. Cobh playing some really decent football at times. Treaty next week is huge for us already.

A very good first half entertaining and it would have be wrong for Pats to win in on the penalty. Bohs were absolutely fantastic and deserved at least a draw but to win it was even better and Bohs POSSIBLY ever so slightly deserved the win more than Pats. Ref made a few terrible decisions. So in all a really good entertaining game with a soft penalty, one not given , a red card and another late come back. What else would you watch on a Friday night.

Three games in a row Bohs substitutions have been game changers, it shows Bohs have the ability to change and adapt as well as a don't lie down attitude. These are the things that make it difficult to be beaten. Buckley hitting hard and winning tackles, giving directions to other players and pushing them on is also a big part of what's happening. He may not have 90 minutes in him but he has enough to pull every bit of energy out of every other player and they respond to him. What a week.BOOM

Obviously Bohs had to go ahead and win the game but Kenny relinquished any control of the game by randomly reverting to a back five and deciding to cling onto a 1-0 with a third of the game remaining. I'm not exaggerating when I say that almost every single outfield player either approached him or motioned to him to ask what the plan actually was as they looked lost with what he'd done. Everyone in the away end was stunned by what we were watching.

The fight not to lie down be beaten is fantastic. Really impressed with what I've seen in the last 10 days. Prior to that there was good football and poor results or poor football and a win, but lately I've been impressed with the quality of football and their will to win. I'm a firm believer in supporting our manager at all costs but there is a breaking point in every person. If the team fight like fcku and loose I can take but when they roll over I loose the will to live. Reynolds said he had the players and quality he wanted and lately he's prooved to us he is correct. They now have to do this week in and week out and that's the hard part.

I think I was at a different game ….. we controlled the game against an average hard working Shels team ( with JB again picking up motm)…. Had enough chances to score at least 5…. Shels in fairness caught us out very badly with two decent crosses which we should have cleared … aside from that they created nothing …. Also it was a good entertaining game ( aside from Duffs usual childlike histrionic behaviours; he’s doing a fine job but at this stage his sideline carry on is becoming an embarrassment )

Didnt see the game but Kerr and McCarthy's tactical defaults late on in games that a side wasnt being battered never worked (5 at the back or in midfield and cede al bunch of metrics). It was groan all round and then a goal conceded. Not sure why Kenny would decide to retreat like it unless Bohs were really pushing on and even then Kenny's to a fault belief in his selected system and players make this a shift in his managerial characteristic ,went to a plan B???! Interesting though.

Bohs deserved that one after a what can only be considered from our point of view as an absolute balls up by Kenny. The second half we aspired to be dreadful and Bohs were the much better team. There is a mix of lads in our squad not doing it and others not up to it. I don’t rate Baggley at all but he isn’t on his own. The minute Forester went off the midfield went missing.

The minute Forester went off the midfield went missing.

He was in a protective boot at the end too which doesn’t look promising in terms of a speedy return with 2 tough games next weekend against Galway and Derry

From a Bohs point of view hard to disagree with that. You approached the game very defensively as soon as you got the goal. The time wasting from your keeper was ridiculous and Breslin was the unfortunate one to pick up the card for the time wasting, in the first half no less! That really came back to haunt you with the 6+ minutes added on at the end and the Breslin second yellow. Quite why you went so defensive is beyond me as Bohs are a hard working team but not exactly prolific. We are also ropey in defence with the fullbacks being our biggest weakness. Just bad decisions from your coaching staff all night.

On Bohs that is probably the hardest working team I've seen out there in a long time and I think the fans (myself included) are really starting to appreciate that. I don't know if we can keep this up and trouble the European places but it's nice to be looking up the table instead of down it. I think we need to bring in some reinforcements for the wings (Dayle Rooney just isn't up to it this year) and while Brennan has potential I think he still needs to put on a couple of KGs of muscle before he's a consistent performer in the league. The fullback area is just a disaster, Flores is not a full back and Mountney just doesn't have any pace to cover wingers anymore. Get a couple of lads in in July if at all possible and we might see the defence become a bit more solid because I think in Grehan, Cornwall and Kavanagh there are 3 good CBs there but they are let down by the fullbacks.

Think mountney has to play myself, he’s a gritty experienced pro who reads it well. Seldom loses a 50/50, Flores was very good tonight, bucko was brilliant at pulling it together when he got on. This along with cornwalls covering was the vital nous and cuteness we lacked before. Surround these lads with plenty of pace and we look ok.
Agree about young rooney he’s just not reaching his level, I’d maybe stick Archie in there instead, very clever baller.
Thought Rossi and colm w were brilliant.

It's nearly a carbon copy of the goal Rovers got to go 2-1 up last week late on. Everyone at the front post, loads of room at the back post for the opposition.

Disgusted by our 2nd half performance, why we went so defensive so early is beyond me. Forrester is an important player for us but we should be able to cope with him going off better than we did.

It's a real pleasure to watch Colm Whelan at the moment. His linkup play is amazing and clearly a step above this level. Without the injuries you'd have to think he would be elsewhere by now but we'll take him for as long as we can.

Delighted for the lad. I remember hoping we’d sign him when he was still with UCD. He’s had a tough time with injuries so very happy to see him get a run of games and also find some of his old form.

A massive 3 points for us against Drogheda considering we flopped badly in our last 2 home games, and have 2 incredibly tough games next weekend (away to Pats and home to Bohs) which we’ll do very well to take anything from. 3 points closer to safety tonight.
At times tonight we showed we can play football, and when we do, we’re not a bad side.
Moses Dyer has been some signing for us, and delighted/relieved he finally scored at home as all his 5 previous goals have been in away games.
The league table is mad viewing at the minute - great to see!

Great win for Waterford after 7 losses in a row. The Block E ultra fans released a statement during week calling for more effort from players if they wanted to keep their support and had a Step up or step out banner before the game. The players seem to listen as they worked hard all night and deserved the win. Both goals were a bit scrappy as was Derry's late goal.
Derry were poor. 2nd time this season we have beaten them which isn't a great sign for a club who would expect to challenge for league.

As soon as a mentioned a Derry turning the corner this week....

At a loss to explain how we followed up our two best performances of the season with that tripe last night. So flat, no energy, weak shots on goal. And the defending....
The first goal was horrific to concede. Ball bouncing around the box, Maher in the middle of nowhere. I'd have no issue if he was dropped on the back of that performance.
At least we managed to score at the death, save a bit of face, and not let Waterford have their first clean sheet of the season.

Serious work needed between now and next week. It's bizarre that we're only three points off the top, mad league.

Same. From the outside looking in, he acts like a spoiled child and loves to blame everyone else and everything else rather than taking any responsibility.
