Hello one and all!
We at theLimerick.95mb.com are organising a Limerick2000 for the home fixture with Cobh in September. The basic idea is to get 2000+ into Hogan Park and have a sea of blue supporters in the stands. We're going to promote it as a family friendly event and hopefully it will be a success. Earlier in the season we promoted theGalway500, an initiative to get 500 Lims supporters to travel to Galway to cheer on the blues. The point was to create a buzzing atmosphere to what would have been just another away match with a few Lims supporters making the match. If your supporters were to start up their version of theGalway500, ie theLimerick500, and get as many Cobh supporters up to Limerick we could have a cracking derby atmosphere. We believe 2000 Lims supporters is very achievable so if ye managed a few hundred we could have a sizeable visiting support and a bit of banter!
For us theGalway500 was about galvanising support and picking ONE major away match to get sizeable support as opposed to 50 max here and there over the entire season. If your supporters were to travel to ONE away match this season, pushing this match as THE one to go to would ensure that it would be a success in terms of support and atmosphere. Also the close proximity would mean it would be very achievable.
If anyone would like to contact me for more details or ideas on this please email me at thelimerick@hotmail.com
Thanks...

Would have liked it better if ye had made it a Limerick 2000 when ye came down to us ..instead of Limerick 30 .. would have been good if we could have arranged a large group going both ways for both fixtures which would benefit both clubs. Still good idea.....any thing that promotes the games atmosphere has to be good overall. When is that fixture on? Send on any info on same to webmaster@cobhramblers.com to get it posted on our website.

Best of luck with it but i don't think ye'll manage it tbh.For the Galway 500 yee had about 80 -100(max) and 2000 fans is a lot to ask.Instead of stating a figure why don't yee just try and get as many as yee can without giving an exact number. That way if yee got a crowd of roughlu 1400-1600 it wouldn't be looked upon as a failure because that size of a crowd is one that many premier clubs would aim for.Anyway good luck!

I agree with you, getting the numbers both ways would probably have been the best way of going about it... We tried organising a Galway500 earlier in the season but a poor run of results and the club criticising the move (on financial grounds) put a bit of a dampner on the whole thing. Don't think anyone really had the stomach to push something like that again so soon. The Limerick2000 though is very much achievable and I cant see what the club would have against it. The signing of John McGrath and some good results of late have boosted supporter morale so it should be a cracking athmosphere. To have a significant Cobh presence would make it all the more electric opposed to it being a bit one-sided, a bit of banter would really add to the whole thing. If both teams are in the same league next year (obviously the premier!) we would definately look to organise something for the away fixture in Cobh... could be start of something regular for both sets of supporters... I'll be in contact with all the relevant info during the week

Any Ramblers fans fancy going along to this match in Limerick. Should be a good crowd / atmosphere as LFC are pushing it as a 2000 supporter match. Is it possible to get a coach load or people driving to give us one of the biggest away supports of the year. JK we need your help on this one.....Is there enough people interested for Supporters Club to organise a seperate bus?
