View Full Version : Would You Boycott Tolka???
Seriously - if he gets another "slap on the wrist" and warning for this fiasco would you and your clubs fans be interested in just Boycotting games at Tolka Park???
At this stage the FAI, the clubs, everyone is running scared from these bullies - only a points deduction or a boycott by their only source of income (away fans always out number the home support at shels games)
I get the feeling people are not prepared to put up with these antics anymore - time to stand up and be counted cause the FAI/EL certainly cant control these clowns.
enough is enough.......

I agree with the motivation, but I don't agree with the tactic. I go to Tolka to support Bohs, not to admire Shels' dismal brand of football, and equally dismal standards of personal behaviour on the part of their current crop of officials.
Any boycott would surely invite retaliation, and that's the last thing the EL needs.
In the absence of any means of censure or any will to discipline these goons from the administrators maybe its the only tactic left?
how many more incidents
the suspicion is that basically Ollie and co are in cahoots with the lovely EL office - anytime they threaten him he hits them over the head with the rule book (which his da wrote according to Ollie) - does anyone feel it a tad odd that Ollie and his poodles can publish the official fai match report before the matter has been adjudicated on
is the tail wagging the dog????

The FAI are the only ones who can tackle Ollie. At this stage, their tolerance of his antics is beginning to look foolish at best.
I hope that their silence on the specifics of the latest chapter means that they are being very careful before they throw that book at him.
Eight points deducted would be good for starters. :p

15 points deducted would be nice!
I haven't bought anything (bar the match ticket) off Shels in years, and I doubt many Pats fans do. It may be time to step up from this token protest if no action is taken this time...

Yeah pretty much every pats fan I know buys nothing but their ticket (and you’d be amazed how many students we have following us)
I think its more that Ollie threatens legal action if anything comes up. The league/FAi always relent as they know the rulebook is a shambles

Well as somebody who goes to alot of neutral matches if they dont clash with the drogs, I'm never going to a match in tolka again if the drogs aren't playing there

I wouldn't boycott Tolka, but if action against Ollie is not taken then i think that every Eircom league club which has been on the recieving end of any of his "actions" (effectively all of them) should ban him from their grounds.
I think Oily will get 1 month ban same as Seery, league will make empty threats that won't accept any similar incidents in future...
Don't think i'm ready to boycott yet.
League will need to resolve this matter quickly for once...

I thnk it would be great if you boycotted Tolka, but if you did that would it stop you all coming on here and moaning, the amount of Shels related threads at the moment is stupid and nearly all are started by non-Shels fans

Why not just put pressure on your own club to have him barred from your ground the next time you play Shels?

Do Shels own their stadium either as a matter of interest?
Loads and loads of Pats fan have boycotted the last couple of games we had in Tolka. About 4,000 of them I'd guess
Who to believe the media or a convicted criminal? I agree its a tough choice

Well Dalymount may not be ours, but it looks likely that Oily might be finding it a bit difficult to gain entry the next time we host Shels there in a few weeks time.

In a word NO.
And the sad person is not me but a certain gentleman ;) who cannot accept criticism of either his club, his team or himself.

Maybe, but to boycott a ground over it and not see your own team play down the road because you don't want to see him get 15e seems a bit much.

Been there, done that....17 long years ago.
Incidentally, does anyone think Shels 05 is a wee bit like Rovers 87? Big spending, domestic dominance not paying off in Europe, wheels falling off the wagon, odious CEO type and most of all - about to make a ridiculous decision that will effectively leave the club homeless.

Ah, you see the bit €15 is still in my pocket and not his.................IIRC taking cash at gates is not permitted under club licensing yet the big gate at the Drumcondra end is used, no counting of patrons entering,no ticket issued with the cash going straight into a pocket. How can that be accountable?

The type of turnstyle we have is supposedly allowed under the UEFA license. The fact that we're able to produce offical attendences for all games on here (Bar the most recent one anyway) means they obviously work.

That's my point, there is no turnstile at the gate, so no recording of how many pay and enter at that location.
Official Attendance = Actual Attendance? Never!

That gate, as far as I would be aware, is only open as an exit towards the end of the game, or if it is an ALL ticket affair and tickets are taken on the way in. You enter by the turnstiles NEXT to the gate...

I would think that was perfectly obvious, if I've never used a turnstile therefore I must have used the gate, and have always done so. Let me repeat I've never used a turnstile in Tolka.
Seriously Slash/Ed, I always had you down as intelligent and reasonable but the expression "head in the sand" seems to infect everyone connected with your club recently, including yourself, sadly.

Well I have certinaly never seen anyone walk in through the gate, even in all ticket affairs, since the UEFA license came in. Maybe I have got my head in the sand but I have not seen it happen, even as a season ticket holder I have to walk through a turnstyle.

What has Ollie done to upset us??
Attacked a derry fan for having a Pizza= Judas banner, got taken away from the cops at Richmond Park for giving the fans the finger and starting a fite on a few lads coz we scored in the last minute, the incident against drogheda the other nite with the cameraman, getting us deducted 15 points when Roy Dooney made it clear we werent the only team to have an unregistered player and the FAI gave out 2 sets of medals and gave us compensation to put down the claims because we were right,
When u tink of the general secretary from the other clubs he's the 1st person you'll think of, why because he's in the media for the wrong reason, he shud be sent back to mountjoy he's a disgrace, i've only been buying the match ticket since i was 13 and now im 17 and only the match ticket. Ollie shud be hit in the pockets, i dont know about boycotting bt definetly no programmes or food in the ground, OLLIE MUST STOP THIS CARRY ON HES A SORE LOSER!

He is the first person you lot think of due to the success of Shels over the last 10 years or so.
getting us deducted 15 points when Roy Dooney made it clear we werent the only team to have an unregistered player
Thats funny!!
It goes to show how far you will twist any incident to put the blame on Ollie.
I know Ollie is no saint but when you made silly statements like the one above it shows me that what drives you in not RIGHT from WRONG but some problem you have with Ollie and Shels. Im not surprised yu are unhappy at the 15 point deduction but go to Pat dolan and ask him all about that
OLLIE MUST STOP THIS CARRY ON HES A SORE LOSER!
I am beginning to think its all you lot who jump so easily into things that you have no knowledge of that are the sore losers.
I actually didnt think there were any Pats fans left who didnt blame PAts and Dolan on the points deducion.
If other fans in the league are 100% honest they will actually say Ollie done the right thing over that and the league is better off because of it. I dont expect them to post here but I have heard it said.
