I have never in my life gone to a Sligo game and I was wondering do they really have a big support? As the thread on which club you support shows they have the second highest amount of users on Foot.ie! So is it just that they have a large internet fanbase or do they really have one of the largest fanbases in the country??
You should have seen the crowd they had in dublin last thursday - unbelievable support numberswise
Would they have more support than any Premier sides(excluding U.C.D)?

I was at a match in the Showgrounds earlier this season and was extremely impressed with the level of support for the team and the standard of the ground itself. Easily the best stadium and group of fans in the First Division.
Hope to see Sligo in the Premier soon. they would be a fine addition to the league

ATM, they would get bigger crowds than Longford, UCD, Waterford, Harps and about level with Pats AFAIK.

Ye it would be very good if one of the Dublin sides went down and Sligo came up as it add more interest to the league and spread the league across the country a bit more

Anyone getting a smell of sour grapes :p . We get lot of support down here, we actually took around 400 to Mons. We get larger attendances than Pats now aswell, and we'd be getting the same as Bray if it wer'nt for the away fans. Fans in the First Division dont travel.

Wonder if many are making the trip North on Saturday, they are playing us for Pat McShane's testimonial.

After what happened at Institue we'll be lucky if the team turns up, let alone any fans.
I see Sligo have a game on Friday night so its safe to assume there wont be may first teame in attendance on Saturday

at the match in the showgrounds 2 weeks ago against Kildare County there were 1700 at it. probably the biggest attendance (at a first division match anyway) in a long time. then we hed about 3-4hundred in both monaghan and dublin too! :)
