1(a) Do you know what the nature of the agreement between the club and the county council will be?
> Rovers to be anchor tenents with first preference on use of all stadium facilities. There will be NO RENT. The only payment that the SDCC recieves from Rovers is a 50% cut of all adverising revenue in the stadium.
(b) Will it be a full time lease or will it be a rental agreement, ie will the club be able to rent out the stadium for other games/purposes or will any other rental income go to the council, like in the RSC in Waterford.
> Rovers have use of the stadium for up to 40 matches a year. Any income generated by these games goes straight to Rovers
(c) Will there be a training ground attached or will Rovers have to rent somewhere to train (most clubs do as far as I know)
> Yes, plus land given over to the club to build its own clubhouse independent (but adjacent to) the stadium
2(a) Wondering with a new stadium like this would it be worth looking at putting in a Dundalk style pitch?
> Grass pitch installed four years ago
(b) If not, who will be responsible for the pitch maintenance, the club or the council?
> All stadium maintainance to be the responsibilty of the council (including costs)
3 Will there be floodlights? (Not shown on plans)
> Yes
4 What will be the nature of the standing room away from the stand? Will proper terraces be constructed or will it be a mud bank?
> Strictly speaking no terracing allowed, but I imagine a similar situation to what happens at Turners Cross when it fills up occuring
5 Nothing to do with the stadium, but how far away is the nearest LUAS stop?
> 5 minutes walk

Floodlights are clearly shown in the elevation plan (http://www.sdcc.ie/41308.pdf). Dont ask me why theyre not in the final sketch... :o

nice 1 for posting those plans.
Looks like Shamrock Rovers got a fantastic deal with the county council. I didnt think they were going to extend the seating all the way around like that. 10,000 seater capacity is brilliant but one stand will be enough to start with. That would be excellent for any european games as well

Yes, one tier on top of nothing is quite easy.
is it engineering possible to put another tier on the stadium in tallaght ??
How big do you think they need the stadium to be?

10,000 is big enough for the forseeable future but if they could add another tier and make it a 20,000 seater it would be a fantastic facility for future european games.

Is the plan to get rid of the terrace altoghter. if so i think this is a bad idea. everyone knows the best atmosphere comes from a terrace especially turners cross. i think eircom league clubs should look towards putting good quality terrace in especially behind goals. i know it will mean reduced capacity for european games but there will generaly not be more of three or four of them a season. i think there is a fascination in the league with throwing seats anywhere they can. look at tolka park for instance some of the seating arrangements are useless. i would definetly agree with shels building a 5000 seater initially. they are going to have to double there average attendance to fill it. the league should focus on building up ground occupancy and not just building stands there is a better atmosphere in a 5000 seater with 3500 in it than a 10000 seater with 5000 in it

i think some of the german clubs have terracing and seating.. i think some of them can convert to seating for european games. Just look at the San Siro in Italy, they are seats but everyone is standing on them. we would never get away with that here but if we could convert standing to seating for european games it would be the ideal situation

r&d stadium. its deadly, small ,but its all encosed with walls in the corners -good for keeping atmosphere in. very ideal for el designs
expecting an el team to build something like the boras arena is ridculously over-optimistic
as for tallaght, the main stand will hold 3000 or so.and yeah the stadium can go all the way around, fully enclosed 10-2000 seater,if the money is available

italina grounds seats are generally plastic squares nailed to the terrace, with no backing on the seat.makes it easier to stand on
we were told that the main stand will have foundations to support a second tier if need arises for one
