I see Greenmout Rangers have withdrawn sad to see a club go mid season.

City clubs just don’t have the same heart that the country clubs have, a few bad results at the start of the season and Greenmount pretty much gave up and now are gone altogether. Clubs like them think they have a divine right to be up near the top of the table every season and have absolutely no interest when they’re not. Country clubs like Banteer, Donoughmore, Rylane, Los Zarcos and Bweeng have all been through the **** but you never ever see them so much as concede a game.

Well said. Heard of watergrasshill travelling to away games the other side of the county a couple of seasons ago with 8 or 9 players and they still stuck it out.

In fairness to Watergrasshill they have turned things around big time they are having some season one of the best in all the AUL

We have been very quick to blame the Aul for the demise of the league, but there are times when we have knowone to blame but ourselves.

Temple 1st team folds in a season where they can't be relegated and their 2nd team in a season where they have a chance in the 3rd division now suddenly become a Premier team an loose the chance to win a 3rd division . Greenmount , ex MJR champs, Prem champs,Aoh and Mossie champs gone as well. I know some of the lads who played with both and it must be heartbreaking to see happen in front of you.

Can't blame the Aul.

To all those who put in the hard yards to keep things going I salute you .

Temples situation is a strange one there A team were in trouble last year.

And then for them to fold now isn’t overly surprising but surely some of the B team should have been brought up to add to the quality and numbers in pre season seems like bad management within the club.

I’m also lead to believe that their B team were asked to go to the 2nd division as they had finished 3rd in the 3rd division and refused.

Greenmout another strange one very good second division team last season.

Yes a poor start but not a bad side still had the Saxone & City Cup to play for hard to figure.

AUL have their work cut out for them it’s the City clubs that are letting them down in the main as the lack of loyalty by players causes clubs numbers to fluctuate too much.

The county clubs biggest issue is the GAA but they do a much better job of holding things together.

Word on the street is Temple are keeping both teams in the league. Surely this is a huge boost for the second team with then still in the AOH there own league cup and also undefeated in the league. This should be interesting with Gratten also breathing down their backs in the title race. Game On!!

Jason Bourne

Whoops , I did say It would get worse,,,,,Aul is a bit of a embarrassment now.

Grattan(with an A) an Boher are 1st and 2nd , ,,,,,,,so its more of the chasing pack on their tails than breathing down anyone's neck. Watergrasshill will have a say in this too and possibly Rathcormac .

How are they keeping both teams have the rules not been broken?

Games called off as a result?

Jason Bourne
04/02/2023, 4:19 PM
The rule book is freely available, rule 24 , parts A,B & C .

The current carryone is a farce .

I say again , it could get worse.

There are a few old souls in the crows nest of the HMS AUL

The ice berg is far away but getting closer , but sur its miles away they say, we are the HMS AUL , nothing to worry about.

In a blink the ship is past savin an all we have then is memories of a once glorious thing. The HMS AUL.

Yes , it seems to be inevitable .

The AUL is a bit like this forum , dying a slow and painful death. Couldnt tell you the last time i went to a match , must be the start of the season I'd say . Just think the standard is awful and not worth my time anymore

While standards have dropped over the years due to numbers dropping, commitments, etc., there are still some good teams who want to be competitive and put in the work.

Cocahford, Springfield, Corkbeg, Grattan, City Wanderers.
UCC, Killumney, Grangevale.
Cathedral
Blackstone, Shandon, Los Zarcos.
Temple B, Watergrasshill, Grattan B.

You've other clubs then trying their best.

Then you've other clubs who's interests aren't great and call off games willy nilly. Thankfully that should be happening less now.

Looking forward to the Cup Finals and business end to leagues.

Grangevale reinstated in the AOH after Temple deemed to have played an illegal player.

The Temple Secretary must be fairly busy!!!

Wow, rules applied, I'm surprised.

Glenthorn beat Killumney, that side is open. Coachford huge favourites after Grattan knocked out.

Coachford are a long way off in that league. Their first step is to pass Temple and in that league it’s a lot easier said than done. Strand also beat watergrass hill so they also have to get respect off Coachford. Churchvilla too I wouldn’t go saying coachford are the favorites just yet it’s the cup you never know

Coachford are top, six games in, conceded 1 and scored 25, they're not a long way off anybody. Team to beat in all local competitions including AOH.

Had an Italian friend once who played ball, he said Scudettos were all that mattered because 2 teams play a final only one team wins a league ,,, took a while for me to understand that.

Cute fella in fairness.

It’s cup season in the AUL with the first final of the season on Sunday morning with the St Michaels Cup final between Blackpool and Rathcoole. They played each other in the league last weekend with Blackpool winning 3-2 but I reckon Rathcoole will bounce back and get the job done at the Cross..

In the Saxone Cup, Rylane play Los Zarcos tomorrow in the quarter final with the winners looking at a home draw against Bweeng, who shocked Shandon, in the semi final. Looking at the league table you’d have to fancy Los Zarcos to get over tomorrow and beat Bweeng at home to reach a cup final for the second year running.
On the other side of the draw Boscos face Blackstone in the semi final in Dungourney tomorrow. Always a tough place to go but Blackstone should have enough to get over the line. I’m going to go with Blackstone beating Los Zarcos in the final.

In the Presidents Cup a lot of the big boys in division 3 have been knocked out so this is wide open and a great chance for a day out for some small clubs. I’m not sure of how the draw is playing out but looking at the teams left I’m going to go with a Churchvilla v Ard Na Laoi final with Churchvilla winning.

I’ve heard a few murmurs that there may be no City or County cups this season, has anyone heard anything about them?

0-0 after extra time even game to be fair

Huge result for Boscos especially when you consider they were added late to the league.

My understanding is the County and City Cups will be played.

Well done Rathcoole, another good club that’s kept going. Was at the game yesterday, Rathcoole full value for the win and should have had the game wrapped up in normal time.

Saxone Cup is wide open now with Blackstone gone, all 3 teams left will fancy their chances. I haven’t seen Boscos play this season but I’m presuming they have a lot of lads that were in their premier side last season?

Great win for Rathcoole & deserved winners in the day.
Not the biggest club in the world but a lot of hard work goes in there so a great reward yesterday for all that.

Saxone Cup has thrown up a lot of surprises already so anything could happen.

Boscos are pretty much their division 3 team from last year with a few extra additions of quality from their Premier team from last year thrown in.

Game on Sunday should be a cracker.

Coachford beat Grattan well last season in AOH. Grattan did the job this season in MJC.

Let's hope for a great game.

0.0 out the Cross,,,,,Grattan on top , Coachford look a bit shell shocked to be honest. Coachford have have haf to do more defending in 45 mins than they did the whole of last season.

Small crowd.

2nd half should be a better.

It will be interesting to see how the AUL handle this.
Will be no place to hide a big crowd, full set of officials and a lot of the committee in attendance.

No place for either side to hide

Lads this is brutal for the AUL. With what went on with Carrigaline too it’s a bad week for Cork football. From what I heard Coachford instigated it with sub keepers behaviour on the bench but I wasn’t there so can’t say for certain. Match has to be replayed but obviously not out in the cross.

Nothing todo with the league in thus case both clubs will have a lot to answer for.
And after seeing some of the videos some players will have a nice few weeks off

Average Baller

Haven’t seen any videos but I seen on Facebook Grattan have said that a Coachford player who happens to be a member of the Gardaí assaulted a Grattan player in the tunnel.

06/03/2023, 10:52 AM
This is only going off the videos and more could have happened there is a fair amount of punches and kicks thrown.

You would imagine multi games ban in coming for a nice few lads.

And fines coming for both clubs.

You would think it will hardly be replayed they must play each other twice in the league also.

Could be a n interesting few months ahead.

Which squad can absorb the suspensions best?

Certainly not the leagues fault.

Up to them now to punish however.

Coachford and Grattan shouldn't get another final replay in my opinion.

Can’t imagine there’ll be many games this weekend with the weather, have to feel sorry for the teams with home cup draws. Hopefully a few will get played.
