Scores again, off the bench.
When's the squad announcement...?
Replaced Conor Washington on the 37th minute and only lasted 8 minutes himself before getting injured.

Idah, Parrott and now Kelly - the Irish striker injury curse is working overtime
Quite a serious hamstring tear is how the Rotherham manager described Kelly's injury.

Back from injury today; came on with 20 to go
Not as long on the sidelines as I'd feared from JR's post above thankfully

Picked up his Masters degree too I hear.

Kelly has a muscle tear in his calf, which will keep him out of action for 4-6 weeks, according to manager Matt Taylor (Yorkshire Post, 23 Dec).

Scores against Burnley after coming on as a halftime sub to make it 2-2. Fourth of the season, but the first since October. Ogbene with the assist. Then sets Ogbene through a couple of minutes later but the keeper saved
Obafemi given his usual ten minute runout at the end unfortunately

Scores in a pre-season win against Parkgate - as he did last year as well I think.
Washington and Ogbene - their two top scorers last season - have both moved on, so maybe he'll get more playing time this year. Be nice to see if he can make anything of if it comes about.
"A second for the Millers and a very popular scorer!" is an interesting comment on their twitter - though popularity never scored goals of course.

On the mark again in a friendly against Mansfield. Trialist with an assist and a goal so far as they lead 2-1. Christy Pym in nets for Mansfield

Has a hattrick now, with Trialist providing another assist
Be great to see if he can get a run of games this season. Still 30 to go in the match

Good to see Kelly back in the squad for tonight's home game v Coventry, after a lengthy absence.

Came on for the last three minutes and set up Rotherham's second with a lovely chested assist

And first goal of the season this week, ten minutes after coming on as a sub to earn in the relegation six-pointer against QPR. Leaves them five points off safety with a game in hand, and a point ahead of QPR. A draw probably no good to either team really, but better than defeat.

First league start of the season tonight, but they're 2-0 down away to Hull inside 10 minutes...
Christie starts for Hull; McLoughlin, Connolly and Vaughan on the bench

Drops back into EFL 1, signing for Carlisle Utd for an undisclosed fee on a three-and-a-half-year deal. Kelly (27) made 48 appearances for Rotherham in the last two years, 44 as substitute. He scored 6 goals. (BBC Football, 1 Feb)

From one relegation battle to another. Pity he never got going at Rotherham after that great start. Injuries didn't help, but he was around long enough that ultimately he didn't break through. 3.5 year deal is a good one though and he should be a regular starter now you'd reckon - even if I'm League Two best year. Be interesting to see how it works out

Finally scores his first Carlisle goals today, after 18 injury-hit months at the club. They could be vital though, helping his side from 2-0 down at home to Newport to 2-2, and then they won it in the last minute. They're still bottom of League Two though, but you've seen clubs at the bottom put a run of form together and stay up on the last day before.
If they do go down, then it'll be his third relegation in two years (from the Championship and League One with Rotherham and Carlisle last year, and now from League Two with Carlisle), an unusual accolade to add his possible unique double of LoI First Division and Premier Division medals in the same season in 2018 (with UCD and Dundalk)

Not sure if mentioned before but he's dating Irish heptathlete/pentahlete Kate O'Connor

Five goals and an assist in five games now, helping Carlisle (under Mark Hughes) finish the season strongly, but they're going down as it stands and even if they get a winner late on adding Cheltenham.
Don't know if he or Hughes are going to stick around for next season. But he could tear up the Conference if he can keep clear of injury
