Good game of ball to be honest.. Ogbene playing well, but also showing the difference betwee being a Prem/Championship winger and a league 1 one.. end product poor quality

We should have had a peno too.. Idah was bundled over

We should be ahead based on the play so far. There is no lack of effort from the players. I think the doubters can have their opinions on Kenny but having the players with the manager is a huge plus.

We've had some really good balls into the box. Unfortunately Idah is not having a great game and his confidence is low so he's not getting into the natural goal scoring positions. Very open game.

I think we're lucky not to be one down. That Bazunu save was something else.

Definitely an open game.. some poor decision making by Robinson, trying a bit too hard.. but there are goals here

Better team. Solid performance thus far. Bazunu with one super save and good distribution. Duffy solid in defense, has given the ball away 3 times cheaply….not a long term fixture in a Kenny team once Collins and big Andy come through next year. Midfield ok. McClean, one good cross apart, is playing on borrowed time. Idah lost, needs Jan loan unless Dean Smith fancies him with two up top. Ogbene continues to pleasantly surprise me, hopefully he can engineer a move out of league one in January. Robinson poor, no club form coming into it - he can’t live off his recent surprising goal rush forever - has translated into him taking too much out of the ball every time

Would even consider putting Keane on to replace himAt least he’s match fit and sharp, and this lot are about League 1 standard.

Fair bit to be positive about, but the usual problems in front of goal for now.

This is how a tough 2-0 win looks like, or a 1-0 defeat. Luxembourg growing into it as the game has gone on, but still second best.

Definitely better than the equivalent in Dublin, but we need a chance or two. Ogbene is a live wire but his end product has been poor so far. McClean snatching at that shot from the edge of the box has been typically frustrating. Lots of nice crosses and it only takes one of those to be met with a nice header to give us the lead.

Would have liked their keeper to have done more work, but tentatively it's going ok I think

Enjoyable half. End to end. Ireland should surely have a goal by now and that was surely a penalty on Idah. I think a goal for us would settle us down well.

Idah looks off it. I don't think it's a game that suits him. The game is so Helter skelter and doesn't owe itself to an out and out centre forward. I can see Robinson moving centrally and maybe Parrott coming in off the left. I think that might help us pick of some of these chances that are presenting themselves.

He really needs to work that end product out. We are getting torn up through the muddle every time they break our press. Ogbene needs to work harder on his recovery runs when they break out on us. Overall doing well I think. Such a save from bazunu, I love kelleher but it's going to be very tough for him to get in

Looking at forward options here as we're 0-0 again - and surely Scott Hogan would make a difference here?

6 in 15 for Birmingham - how is that behind Idah, Parrott and Keane? It's better than Robinson even.

Would likentonsee Knight at some stage, he's a better passer than Cullen. Idah not really having a great evening nothing coming off for him.

Oh to have a Robbie Keane in this side.

I'd even kill for a Clinton Morrisson.

Good to see us building for the future by giving the young James McClean a go though.

Cullen suspended - for what? First Nations League game? Or Euro qualifier?

Soft booking; thought it was a good tackle

Even enough really. Luxembourg should have gone ahead just there, but generally think we've been better with the ball. One stupid mistake will be the difference here.

We got poxed there.. I'd not be happy if the ref did that to us

If we lose this, I'm blaming the orange jersies

How do we pick a colour that is a word that rhymes with no other word in the English language

What was that about?

Duffy giving out stink about that yellow, but in 2021 if you jump for a ball and your hand is on the other players head it's going to be a foul and you're probably going to get booked.

Trequartista20
14/11/2021, 8:01 PM
Two poor sides; not much quality on display, with little cohesion or organisation shown by either side - particularly Ireland.

We could easily go on to lose this. We're far too open and need to shore up midfield.

Leaving on ogbene to play in a 2 with Robinson when he has played all his club football in wide areas is just so hard to understand, the lad is totally lost
