Great start for the eighteen-year-old, marking his debut in English senior football with his first senior goal in Torquay's 2-0 win over King's Lynn: https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/58936477

Good news thank you. Interesting to see taylor Croasdale playing for Weymouth. He was at Chelsea and one of the leading scorers at under 18s level at tge same time glen mccauley was also scoring frequently for Liverpool youth teams. Just shows how things can change in a few years even when you have serious talent. Really hope mccauley can find a club in the league of ireland to get himself established

Had a successful loan spell at Torquay judging by their forum comments, and the few goals/assists he got. Very promising. Qpr recalled him and he’s on the bench for FA cup today. Whether their plan is to keep him or loan to L1/2 for rest of the season remains to be seen. He has all the raw ingredients to be a very good striker, pace, power and finishing. And an early successful introduction to senior football will stand to him

Anyone with insight here? Doing okay in the conference, gets recalled (qpr or agent pressure), agent creates some bogus transfer rumors, and now he finds himself with no real pathway to senior football until next season. Unless some bizarre injury crisis at high flying QPR. What happened? There didn’t even appear to be a league 2 loan attempt that fell through which was the original thought

No real insight but I certainly wouldn't be too worried about the recall, especially considering he appeared on the bench for their third-round cup game - actually QPR's squad only has four strikers listed so maybe they thought it's worth their while having him has back-up after he made an immediate impression on loan. He won't turn 19 until summer and already has a couple of senior goals under his belt and while it would be great if he could get some time before the end of the season or an emergency loan, even if it doesn't happen he's still well on track.

Well let’s see what kind of first team football exposure he will get between now and the end of the season. Right now to me, it looks like a terrible decision. He was doing okay starting games in the conference at 18. Let’s see what he does between now and May

A baffling decision, seems like a waste of a second half of a season to me…

Actually looks like he joined Aldershot Town 2 weeks ago for the last few games of the season. No appearance yet, and only 5 games left.

Sinclair Armstrong (19) will travel with the QPR squad for their season opener at Blackburn. (West London Sport).

Remember the days when a teenage Irish striker coming on as a 77th-minute sub for a Championship team on the opening day of the season would cause great excitement? Now we're all like "meh, Costelloe played 73 minutes, Omochere set up a goal six minutes into his game": https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/62274838

Good to see, I like the attributes on Sinclair. Just a shame he didn’t get an additional 5 months of conference football last year, very poor decision was made either by his agent or QPR. Hopefully he will continue to get championship opportunities, looks like qpr are crying out for firepower

Came on for the last ten minutes plus stoppage time of the mad tie between QPR and Sunderland and boy, did he have an impact. At 2-1 down, he tried a bicycle kick to get an equalizer, but completely missed the ball. But a few moments later he was sent a pass to chase down the left and showed awesome pace to completely leave his marker in his wake - he forced a save from the Sunderland keeper which led to the corner that QPR's goalie came up from and scored from. He's definitely becoming one to watch

Another terrific cameo from Armstrong, coming on for the last quarter against Blackpool defence to try to save the game and the Tangerines' will be giving up prayers of thanks that, somehow, he did not succeed - ran them ragged and bullied them physically and every time he ran after the ball it looked like something would happen - definitely has a taste for the audacious, nearly catching out the 'Pool keeper with a snapshot from a ridiculous angle - got to be in the U21s for the playoff and could be ready to step up to senior duty by the time the Euro qualifiers roll around - it's just a shame there may not be a chance to blood him in unless we can organize a couple of friendlies during the World Cup

He seems to be a disrupter. Very raw, but physical, athletic, dynamic and just wholly mad. You wouldn't want to have to have everything riding on him converting a chance late in a big game but he really imposes himself on a game. Could be a real wild card for the U21 playoff.

All that said, he is young though.

He had a good cameo at the weekend and will have improved his chance of getting more minutes off the bench. Thought he had the keeper with that powerful shot at the near post when most though he'd go across goal or look for a team mate.

Have seen others say it was a bad miss at the end but think he was stretching to get on the end of the cross so was never gonna get good enough contact to keep it on target.

Won the penalty which put them one up and Cardiff down to ten men. Played 60 mins in what could be Michael Beales last game before he becomes Wolves manager.

The win puts QPR top too, very little talk about Armstrong considering he started for a team playing to go top. Similarly Szmodics, played for Blackburn who went top last night.

Looks to have done well, this is a guy who could push on. Hopefully he will continue to get first team exposure in coming weeks. He already lost a lot of valuable senior football experience last season

Conned the ref completely for the penalty and got the defender sent off, it wasn't even a foul but it turned the game. His running directly at opponents to get himself into the area was admirable, what came next was less so, but good luck to him.

Big test for Blackburn to see if they sustain a promotion push this season. Mowbury had them playing well and often up around the top of the table last season before falling away to 8th place. Brereton Diaz, whose been the main reason they've performed so well the last 15 months will walk on a free next summer. Feel like they won't get another chance like this to gain promotion once he leaves.

great powerful running to win that pen, very harsh red though. this kid was an absolute animal whenever i saw him underage with ireland and he looks to have kicked onto another level physically since then. apparently his hold up play was excellent aswell. early days yet but hopefully he can nail a starting spot down full time.

Surprising.

Fact Wolves have announced that the current interims will remain in charge till 2023 probably shows no one wanted it. Wolves are only three places ahead of QPR if you list the clubs out 1 to 92, and could end up swapping divisions next summer.

Villa are three down to Fulham, maybe he is on a nod & a wink for that job instead, Gerrard seems lost without him.

After the interview he did with QPR today talking to the fans he'd look a right **** if that were to happen. If he was on a nod and wink would have just kept the head down after turning Wolves
a down.

Don't think he's in rush to leave given he's only a few months into his first senior management job and especially for clubs battling relegation. Don't think he'll be short of offers over the next couple of years.

Burnley look like they'll be drawing their way to the PL this season. 8 draws in 15 games. Either they can't hold onto a lead or struggle to break teams down sitting deep hoping to catch them on the break for a 1-0 win.

Seemed to do ok when he came on after 27 minutes last night. Poor result for qpr. He’s very raw, a lot of fine tuning to do, but there is a player in there somewhere. Will need patience to see how he matures

Good cameo again today by the looks of it. Hull fans commenting that he could be some player in a couple of years with the right coaching. He needs much more first team exposure by the end of the season to get on that trajectory. Hopefully today will be the start of more minutes, although qpr struggling so not ideal environment for young unproven talents to be given opportunities

He was only ok. There was one chance he created himself that the keeper saved at near post. In the coverage I was watching the commentator even speculated that he could be subbed again after coming on because he kept getting caught offside and then got booked.

Hes friggin huge though. If there's a real footballer in him he'd be a great asset physically. A front 2 of him and Ferguson would leave a lot of defenders with bruises

Goal and an assist for Sinclair so far today. Yellow card too.

Goal

Paul Smith darts towards the right byline and crosses low across goal, where Sinclair Armstrong is on hand to convert from close range.

Assist

A long ball over the top releases Sinclair Armstrong, who takes his time to assess his options before pulling the ball back for the onrushing left-back Kenneth Paal, who scores with a fine first-time finish.

Think that's O'Dowda that loses the ball for Cardiff for the first goal. Did very well for the second goal.

I put on the EFL highlights show on ITV last night & it was like the Sinclair Armstrong appreciation show, firstly the commentators during it, then the host and then the QPR manager Ainsworth raving about him, Ainsworth said his ceiling was the very top of the game. He made one run on the left near the sideline with the FB with him and the CB covering, players usually turn around and lay the ball back in that situation but he rolled it between the two defenders and accelerated away from both. Very unlucky not to score again also, one shot hit both posts having rolled across the line.

He looks like he is bigger, stronger, and meaner than last season - he has been very impressive in every game and if he keeps it up there will be a queue of PL teams after him by the end of the season.

He definitely has jumped to the head of the pack as a partner for Ferguson.

That run down the left wing just after half time was quite something. Seems to have a really good attitude as well.

Straight into the Under 21 team next month I'd say, and if he keeps going like that he won't be in the Under 21s for very long either.

Watching it yesterday, I was left thinking he did what we keep hoping Idah will do & it took him two weeks. He bullied defenders with his strength, then had the technique to follow that, the acceleration to get away from them and carried a constant goal threat.

If, and it is a big if I know, he keeps yesterdays performance level then he will jump several others in the queue for a senior squad place really quickly, as Jolly Red Giant said.

All eyes on QPR for the next while so, they have one more & maybe two games before the squad announcement, probably too soon whatever he does.

I think Kenny is pretty stubborn and is likely to persist with the current squad including Idah ahead of any new recruits. A bit pointless as this campaign is already a write-off and we should be looking to integrate obvious talents like Armstrong and Festy. I guess we'll have to wait until he is finally relieved of his duties and this agony comes to its protracted end.

Yeah, I'd be inclined to agree.

One thing to note though is we do seem to have a lot of injuries at the moment? Parrott, Obafemi, Johnston, Coleman, McClean, Smallbone. Then there's guys like McGrath who hasn't got a club yet, and even Scales and Doherty who aren't being considered by their clubs. I think there's scope there to bring a couple of new guys through. Armstrong hasn't done a huge amount as yet and probably a call-up on the basis of two good games is a bit premature - but then our options up front and at wing-back in particular are really ropey at the moment.
