View Full Version : Pink t-shirts on blokes... wrong or what?
Metrosexual is just a marketing gimic to get blokes to buy cosmetics and other products that they wouldn't normally have bothered with. Growth has peaked with women, so now the companies have to target men.
Pink t shirts doesn't make anyone gay, just makes them look it, imo. Saying someone looks gay isn't an insult - and if the "metrosexuals" take it as one, maybe they're not so confident about their sexuality as they like to make out.

though it seems that wearing pink over here does make you popular with the ladies..... :(
Don't think it's the t-shirts specifically. It takes confidence to wear certain outfits. If someone looks confident, then often others will find that attractive. This is also true for women.

Definetely wrong, I dont see the point in it really(it doesn't suit guys like). I was at a comedian a few weeks back and my friend was wearing a pink t-shirt, the comedian made a joke about how he was brave wearing a shirt like that :D .

Spot on. And it's the same with the "men's" magazines, such as FHM, Maxim and their like. They sell themselves as lads magazines, but just look at the advertising that goes into them, the various articles about personal grooming and the pages dedicated to cosmetics and fashion.
The woman's market is saturated and now blokes are seen as a prime target, regardless of sexuality.
As for this stupid mohican hairstyle, both girlies and lads can be seen with it.

I know a few women who would disagree with that one. As Eire06 said, its like any item of clothing, certain colours/styles etc do not suit certain guys with certain build/colouring etc.
However, Ive seen some fit blokes wearing pink and it looked good. All depends on the individual :)

But were you interested in the individual? If so, why didn't you approach him, or was he with his (male) partner at the time? :D
I think they look deadly, baby pink and baby yellow tshirts and they get you noticed alot quicker too!they're not just for blondish fellas pauro, they look great on brown haired fellas too!
Thumbs up from me

I said I saw some fit blokes, yes I was more interested in the individual than his shirt  , I assumed they were not gay, but I dont approach fellas anyway, so its not an issue. :) I was merely pointing out guys can look nice in pink.
Living in Brighton, I knew alot of gay men who would not be seen dead in pink, in much the same way alot of straight men would :)

Old enough, thank you. And old enough to know a pink shirt doesn't look quite right on almost all fellas.

I thought I was getting stick!
Orlaith on Big Brother asked Anthony if he and Craig were an item.
He replied, “Don’t say things like that. Look, just because I’ve got a sun tan, like to wear pink, I’m a hairdresser and a dancer, it doesn’t mean I’m gay…”
Poor chap. :D

Been a fan of pink for a good while now, regularly wear pink shirts and ties to work (never together though-too much). Always like to stay ahead of the posse tho so I'll probably stop wearin in the next month or two, just bought myself a Miami Vice style white blazer so that should do me for a few months.

its just wrong plain wrong , the guys that wear them think it makes them look cool and stand out from the norm , but if you have to try that hard to be cool then you aint !!it shows a complete lack of imagineation when you just copy the trend .
pink shirts should go also this chicken run hair cut thats in fasion should get the door too . wearing wristbands because of the colour not to support a charity
agree with that.
cant stand this metrosexual boll*x. lads i know even use GHD's. i had to enquire as to what the fvck a GHD was a while back.hair straighteners apparently.

Its just one of those things,"metrosexual" is just a buzzword that makes some fellas feel like the only way women will be interested in them is if they show their softer side by wearing pink, cuddling teddy bears, listening to westlife records, watching chick flicks etc.Its a media fabrication, think someones having a laugh at your expense, sitting around saying "Hey look,I told these blokes that pink is 'in' and they're actually wearing it!HAHA,god they're such sheep when it comes to fashion."
Look there's nothing wrong with being gay,but pink is a female colour.theres just somethings (straight) blokes dont do,not a big deal but just basic facts-
1)Dont wear high heals
2)Dont wear dresses/skirts
3)Dont wear make up
4)Dont wear pink
Simple!
P.S. Don't shoot the messanger! "You guys" :)

Paul, I think you'll find that I wear what I like.
Never once woke up in the morning and thought, 'I can't wear that. Paul wouldn't approve.'
It's only a colour on a garment, ffs.
You really need to get over the whole gay thing.
Men spent decades not taking care of their health and looks for fear people like you would accuse them of being gay.
The metrosexual male is here so get used to it.
Eh...no I don't go around accusing guys who 'choose ' to wear pink t-shirts etc gay. To me, they look gay, but more importantly i don't think it suits guys, because personally i don't like the colour itself, so for me it is personal preference. Don't know why you say i need to get over the whole gay thing, I don't know what you mean Peadar, i am not homophobic if that is what u mean. Yes, i don't like this metrosexual look, it is revolting. Guys can look after themselves without looking like fairies. What were men doing for decades that was so unhealthy for them? smoking drinking, are they not still doing that now? For me, there is nothing worse than a sunbedded guy with plucked eyebrows and tight pink t-shirt and jeans hanging half-way down his arse FFS! Has someone slagged you about a pink t-shirt peadar, has a raw nerve been tweaked there???? :D heh heh.......... The metrosexual guy might be here, well good for him

That's because in Belgium, people drive on the other side of the road. I agree with your stereotypes point but we're really only kidding about in this thread, Gerrit. ;)
I had to laugh at the Shels V St. Pats match on monday.
3 'cool' dudes walked up behind the goal dressed as ponces - hair all flash, wearing poncy gear, poncy ear rings and one had a pink t shirt  .
I swear to god, we though Busted had just walked in :D
Don Vito introduced me to pink threads. I'd be in favour of them but they're not very common around Longford...

Whats more worrying is that there are some Irish fellas out there persevering with check shirts months (even a year) after they have gone out of fashion. You just have to be ruthless lads, just like sometimes the best thing to do if you win the league is to dismantle your team and bring in new signings let the check go.
On a side note they can still be worn with a suit for another few months at least.
