I find the android box great for watching it on the TV now. I was hooking up the laptop to the TV last season and was a pain in the neck. I had trouble with getting the chromecast to work and the Smart TV browser didn't work either.
What browser are you using on the android box? I tried it but for some reason it is always blurry. Have to cast from my android phone to the box and it's fine. Doesn't make sense to me

It's a complete disaster for me, constant buffering on laptop or casting to a TV, I can stream other sport no bother at all, switched to skorlive this evening, at my wits end with it.....

Commentators are fine. Big issue is the lack of replays. Very strange that they can't manage that.

I used google chrome, but I have to adjust the picture quality in the bottom right hand corner for every game. The 720 was perfect , I'm not sure if they broadcast the games in 1080 ill check the next time I use it.

How are people getting chromecast to work ? I was trying to cast from my iPad to the tv, but there is no cast logo showing up on watchloi. Chromecast is working on other things from my iPad to TV, e.g YouTube.
According to Watchloi site it’s supposed to work with iPad.

I had it on the laptop, it was ok in terms of buffering. The lack of replays was annoying as others have said. John Kenny wasn't too up to speed with our players but I'll give him a pass on that since RTE are only loosely aware that there is a First Division.

I have a chromecast app. It’s not an official one as far as I know but it allows me to screen mirror the iPhone to the chromecast and it works pretty well.

I cast from my phone to TV. The cast button on WatchLOI doesn't work so I go into the Chromecast app on my phone and select "cast phone screen". Anything on your phone's screen will then be on TV. If you get a text message it shows up on the TV too so if you've anything to hide that could get you caught!!

Biggest talking point of last nights Sligo v Dundalk was Mark Byrnes "goal" getting ruled offside!
Plenty of talk about it on social media(was it? Wasn't it?) but was awful that WatchLOI were unable to clear things up with a simple thing like a fooking replay.
Shocking,absolutley shocking!
Thought otherwise the coverage was decent and commentary was excellent. But come on WatchLOI,stop this NO REPLAY siht show now - PLEEEAAASSSSEEEEE!!!

I haven't been able to see the disallowed goal for Sligo yesterday. Soccer Republics highlights of all games on twitter seem to be just the goals and then the final 30 seconds leading up to the full time whistle. If they can add the irrelevant final play sure a disallowed goal can be added too ? I'm really losing patience I have to say, hopefully the product is improved as the season goes on.

Observations from the first weekend of watching a full scehdule of games:
1) Realised that it is super annoying that 3 games were on at the same time on Saturday ? Why? Just stagger them like last year. Makes no sense to me. Give me (an avid Dundalk fan) a chance to watch other LOI games and use the platform more.
2) Before the Sligo/Dundalk game, for the minutes before the game, the camera focused on an empty pitch, with the microphone on, and chatter in the background. I felt embrassed having it on, like catching the production when they werent ready. Have some infographics or something (or highlights from last year/last week). James Rogers at Dundalk argus makes the point that there are journalists inside the ground who are passionate for the league, who would probably love to speak on camera. Give them 5 min before the game at half time. Its really not rocket science.
3) (maybe minor) Like most I guess, I watch replays of events on twitter (due to its absence on the plaform). Yet, the Rovers/ St. Pats highlights was geoblocked on RTE. For the life of me, I dont know why league games were geoblocked on RTE player before WatchLOI (FAI cup games werent), and why highlights of action are internationally geoblocked now. You swear they do their best to hide the league as much as they can.
Overall, WatchLOI is a great service as without it where would we be. The second commentator is great. But there just seems like a dedication to not improving/ doing the little things wrong.

This is so annoying , i was watching all 3 matches on 3 different devices and every time i left the room to use the Loo/ get coffee/ say hello to wife etc i came back wondering had there been a goal in any of the matches and checking the internet for score updates on my phone.
I know this might sound like whinging but it would have been so easy to make this better 2pm 4pm 6pm kick-offs and a scoreboard and a graphic up on screen pre match with the teams.
Streaming is here to stay, i can honestly see Rovers streaming all games next season for an individual charge per game even if people are allowed in.
A few hundred people at a tenner either home fans that cant make it or away fans that dont want to travel would pay for a stream of excellent quality like DFC put out for their pre-season match with Bohs.

Its a throw back to football coverage in the 80's where you had to wait for the score to be flashed up or commentators mentioning goals. Its very very basic effort being made - so much so that 2 commentators is a waste and they might as well just stick a camera on the game and nothing else for minimum cost.

Its a pity as I met Adrian Eames at our game as he rang club looking for stats on our players so he got a number for me and rang. Absolute gent was a good few mins on the phone to him. He was in commentary box with a camera man and laptop and soundbox. Its the bosses that run it that are the issue!

Watch LOI with replays as speculated today!
I'm guessing the coverage will just get relegated to LOITV.
I think it'll be an acceptable alternative as long as it's temporary. There's no point speculating on when fans could be back but people will be disappointed if this is the only coverage for the rest of the season.
To be fair to the FAI I think they've done as close to as best they can in a pretty dire situation if they manage to provide coverage of every PD and FD game this season.
I'm not sure if clubs would have been in favor of WatchLOI being available in normal times for fear of it affecting attendance, but I think LOITV's product is just about bad enough that clubs might be happy enough to have it there as an alternative option. (Would probably need to pay closer to the equivalent of a matchday ticket)
Personally would be absolutely devastated to lose the streaming services as an exile, my interest in Irish football has grown tenfold since actually being able to watch games for the first time in 5 years or so.

I did notice earlier tonight that Watchloi has clamped down on fans watchin same game with same a/c but in diff locations. Me and the younger brother were able to do it successfully earlier this season but not tonight. Pauro was able to log in and view it but I logged in with same a/c but couldnt view it at all. Think their server must ave detected us!
I was never able to do that as I tried it a few times to save the 5er and swiftly saw the phone screen light up with the Father in laws name as it had then kicked him out of his stream, gave him a message about having it open on another browser, which was me 3 miles away.

Down in the first division LOITV has been like this from the start. Not that I’d be sharing it around but if you watched a game on your phone and then want to watch the next game on your tablet or any different device, you have to delete the previous device. Slightly annoying if you’re in a rush at 7:45

Worse, even logging into pay for a game on your phone or computer meant you had to delete the other devices, and then login whatever device you planned to watch the game on and delete the phone or laptop you used to pay for the game on. Frustrating process.

This seasons WatchLoI experience certainly has shown how key replays are to watching a game on tv/online. Ive found myself at games previously half expecting to see an incident again (fellow supporters filling in the gap) so not to do so during tv coverage was just rubbish. I look forwrd to Dundalk doing their own production again and available on a central platform - how it should have been done from the start imo.

Now that I've had almost 24hrs to overcome the trauma of seeing my beloved team lose a game (#prayforPC👏) it's clear that Rovers were completely unbalanced in how they were set up-I'm assuming due to injuries. Gary O'Neill was alone in playing the defensive midfield role, and combined with Grace looking like a new born giraffe learning to walk, it gave dundalk an option on the break numerous times. Rovers miss a LOT of chances in every game they play-neither Greene nor Gaffney are 20 goals a year guys, so the midfield and Burke need to step up.
2 more games until the mid-season break, which could be coming at a good time for Rovers, but that depends on the next 2 results I guess.
As for everyone else, it's clear as day that dundalk have the players, but the farcical nature of the club gives the players an easy out, particularly the established ones. They can finish 2nd or 8th this season but someone of note and actual managerial ability in the dugout is needed soon for them to salvage their season.
To me Sligo look best placed to challenge Rovers for the league , especially with Bolger running their midfield and the exciting kids up front.
Its a mystery to me how pats are as high in the table as they are, having watched them a few times now - For me both Dundalk & Boez are better than them.
I'd rate O'Donnell as a manager and he's getting a tune out of them for sure, but I don't expect them to finish in the top 3 this season.
Boez have 3 exciting young players in bury, tierney and coote, and some hard working midfielders but the laughable stocking up front and their woejus back 5 will cost them a European place unless the July window brings some personnel changes.
I think Higgins will do a good job at Derry, Drogs recruited well so will avoid any relegation worries, and Harps are Harps and could go far in the cup given a decent draw.
Waterford seem determined to join their munster brethren cork in the 1st division, and Longford will struggle but could survive a play off and remain in the division.

Sounds similar to what most Irish Legue clubs have been doing this season, with the majority of them using the 247 platform. Quality of production all down to what each club was willing to pay, but great graphics, instant replays etc for those that paid the extra.

The national league in England was the same , a bit hit and miss. The coverage would vary by club to club some excellent but others barely watchable.

I'm not sure about that. They won't have High Definition. The commentators won't be as good. WatchLOI was better than anything I saw last season. (Bray's was particularly awful). Apart from the lack of replays, which seems inexplicable, Watch LOI offered a level off professionalism which the clubs' own coverage - good as some of it was - never really matched.

Confirmation of the Premier Division's switch to LOITV platform.
I believe the new platform makes it easier for clubs to source their own production (i.e. multi cameras, replays, etc.). In the First Division Athlone and Wexford had made that step on the old system, and I expect more FD/WNL clubs will step up to that on the new system.
