I don't go on about the negative, non-managerial sides of Alan Matthews.......
Maybe you should - he might snap up young players and send them to Barclays in the UK?

I'd say if i had a guess Roo69 thinks this of him due to
ANGEL, good honest, innocent god that is Robbie Doyle just a guess though!!!!

I think Kenny is ok myself

Spot on.

Good to see you hold Robbie in such high regard, i can get his autograph if you want ?

I just did'nt like how kenny handeled the suitation, and from hearing Robbie's side of the story and other players at Bohs at the time (some are still there) Kenny was bang out of order with some of the things he said and done.

Alan Kelly - Useless clown of a ref
Paul McKeown - Same
Pat Dolan - Does he need a reason?
Trevor Molloy - after his smashing career at Shels and for generally being woefully over rated
Bohs - Just in general :)
I'd hate Roddy Collins if he wasn't such great entertainment value. Once he's never let near Shels and never taken seriously he's fine.
Devlin - for the reasons stated already

lol @ Rhona Daly :D but I hate the two foot nothing linesman even more, he never gives us anything.

I'd have to say Ollie, Jason Byrne, Dave Rogers, for latter-day offences and maybe Tony O'Dowd for the memories. And Wilfred Wallace was a right hate figure. Made Jim O'Neill seem like Kim Milton Neilsen.

Macy, what Irish player ever went to Barclays? <evil grin>

Roy Keane and Daryl Murphy are the two most recent high profile ones, Devo had nothing to do with Keane's, think he was giving advice to Murphy ?

They went to Barclays? Not exactly a shock they turned down the Halifax with that annoying ad :D

Keane and Murphy are prime example of why Devo's wrong - at least the eL clubs benefitted to some extent....

Apart from hoolie-lovers whose club has the nerve to play in our colours and whose records are stuck in the 'sanctimonious' groove, I find it impossible to really dislike anyone in EL.
Generally, these are the people, most of them hugely under-rated, who keep football alive on this island, and who for their troubles are disrespected, misrepresented and generally given a very hard time for no good reason by relics like Dunphy and ignoramuses like O'Herlihy.
But, to use a phrase overheard at Bohs recently, Frodo is an awful moany-hole. I kinda can tolerate some Roddy, but lately you can't get away from his on telly and radio because he's a lazy sound-bite, and so that's another record that could do with changing.

twas a joke....... :)

Of course there is, but a lot of the stuff happened in front of the rest of the team, i'm just going by what a good few of the other players told me. Most of them actually said they wished they had the balls to do it.

As i said, Deco had NOTHING to do with Keane moving over to England so how can it be wrong ?

What was so wrong with Murphy's move ? in fariness Waterford needed the money quite a lot, even his fee has'nt sorted out there financial problems. Murphy has no football connections with Devo so naturally as a business man Devo would have wanted to get the best deal for himself possible, the more money Murphy was sold for meaning the more monet he earns. I think 100k was about right for Murphy IMO. Don't think he did anything wrong here.

Or is it the fact that he got Murphy a move accross the water ?

Think you're missing my point...

There are two possible scenario's for players moving to england....
1) Scouts send kids over who are unattached to eL clubs, so the eL doesn't benefit. Also a very high proportion don't make it and are lost to football
2) Kids escape the attention of scouts/ decide to stay with their local clubs and progress to the eL (e.g. Murphy and Keane). Therefore, the eL benefitted (even if by derisory amounts), and if they never get spotted the eL still gets a decent player.

Which scenario does Devo most feature in?

Devo businessman now that's the best joke i have ever heard. Devo's best friend/s are the Duff family now where were they 20 years ago and were are his friends from 20 years ago???????? Devo knows were his bread is buttered and its cash not white bread. Not getting at you Roo69 so don't think i am its just you don't really know Devo. he'd send his sister over to the UK if he thought he could make money out of her.

Well i know which one most people would put Devo into........

Totally agreed, a very high proportion don't make it and are lost to football, but it is every young lads dream to go over to england and try make it as a footballer, hence the reason why they go over in the 1st place.

IMO, i would say it's 9 times out of 10 the 2nd one. eL clubs are quite like lower division clubs in england weather we like it or not, if a player is good enough then he will be destent for bigger and better things, and if someone who knows both sides of the game inside out can help them try get the best deal possible for the player and club then i don't see a problem in that.

Anyway, we could go on for hours about this one, lets just say that we agree to disagree :D

On other posts, Mo Farrell is a legend ! as is Eddie Gormley, 2 players that gave everything when they played, very loyal players as well. a lot of time for both players. And yeah Mo is a qualo sparks, our floodlights went a month or so back, match was just about to be called off until Mo, Mo super Mo got them back working

Pat Devlin (for reasons detailed above)
Pat Dolan (one of the most irritating people I've observed from a distance, see him dancing around after Pats beat us 2-1 a few years ago is still one of the most annoying things I've seen)
Pat Fenlon (don't know why really, just annoys me)
Maurice Farrell (a thug and a scumbag, attempts to injure our players two games in a row and challanges fans to a fight)

I guess myself and most other people were thinking much more recent when we did our list, but Kilcoyne should get honorary 1st place....

Why is Noel King so hated? He is irritating but an entertainer and he has the best wishes of the league at heart. His page in the Derry Journal every week is almost totally dedicated to the league and often very critical of the F.A.I in their running of the league.

Didn't he bite Stephen Ward's ear in Dalymount?
That's not gamesmanship or taking pressure off the rest of his team-mates, that's just a scumbag thing to do (and dangerous with it)
It was said he bit him, but I don't think he did a Tyson.
Vicious all the same. Should have a dedicated ref following him around the pitch with cards in hand.

O'Callaghan "scum" - this from a Waterford fan whose hero is Reynolds???????:D:D

O'Callaghan "cheat" - this from a Waterford fan whose team are the biggest divers, time-wasters and hachet men in the league???????:D:D

Now that I've recovered from that bout of comedy and got back up off the floor, I'll repeat that you don't hate O'Callaghan or City, you are simply jealous. Small time clubs are always jealous of their big neighbours.....:D

I would have siad that the other way around. Farrell very competitive, no pulling out of tackles and at times like a man possessed giving 210%. Gormley a competitor who on ocasions (some would say many) let his temper get the better of him.

Anyway.
