Tolka presents an even tougher situation for bohs now, will be a not insignificant decrease in capacity when (if) they move there temporarily for Dalyer to be redeveloped.

Surely the new stand isn't unsalvageable though and a quick fix can get it up and going again? How much damage could have been done to it?
Should just demolish the other end imo at the very least it'd make room for food trucks and such and at most they could put a temporary stand there.

Would Tolka be a significant decrease in capacity v Dalymount? Over 3,000 there on Friday, plus the Lego stand should hopefully be back in operation before too long, pushing capacity towards 4k, which must be similar to Dalyer.

That all said, it's a crying shame that Bohs and Shels are turning people away in grounds that would have hosted double or triple their current capacities a 10-15 years ago. Great to see a sell-out and a vocal, engaged Shels fanbase on Friday.

Good crowd in Tallaght on Friday too....we could be looking at a sellout on Friday coming. Dundalk end will certainly sell out, if 1,000+ seats are left empty again like last time Rovers will surely be tight for tickets in the home end.

How many away fans were in Longford on Saturday night?

Not as many as expected NavanBohs. At a guess perhaps 20 I stand corrected but I did speak to a Shamrock Rovers fan at half time looking for a match programme as I do some volunteer work with the club. They werent vocal thats for sure.

About on the mark for us tbh.

900 down from our 1st game against Derry.
Usual boxes ticked for drop in attendance.
Liverpool on the box.
School tomorrow.
Not a big travelling support(1st match maybe 250-300 from Derry)
Cold night.
Oriels a kip etc :p

Since Rovers B/II or whatever it is called is effectively an U19/17 team it’s only players parents who attend even home games

I'm hearing there were 600-700 Rovers fans in Waterford last night, it was definitely a big crowd but can someone more familiar with the RSC say if that seems right?

Atmosphere should be electric as we will sell as many tickets as we are given aswell. After Season Ticket holder sales end today, club only expect to have 1/200 on general sale in morning.

Only 4 premier division games this Friday (sligo on Saturday who should get good numbers too) but we could be looking at bumper crowds depending how corks fans react. Derry you'd expect a near sell out and same in shels for a Dublin derby.

Shels vs us looking certain enough to sell out. Because (I think?) they allow some home fans in the Riverside Stand now too because the whatever it's called stand is out of use we're getting less of an allocation than we otherwise would have of around 750. Should well sell out before Friday.

We had 1/2 the Riverside Stand Friday and received 800 tickets.

Regardless of restricted capacity, it's great to see a time where we're talking about regularly sold out League of Ireland games.

That'll only drive the demand for higher capacity grounds, especially will put pressure on DCC to get something done with Dalymount and Tolka, and might put a push on SDCC to get Tallaght completed.

Definitely 2,343 confirmed last night for Dlk v Cork. As TT said, that's 900 down from the first home game, Monday's are a hard sell though. Lots of DFC fans like me working in Dublin, others living there, always think anything over 2k is not bad for a Monday.

Friday night, anything under 3k is poor.

Nesta99
26/02/2020, 1:12 AM
To regularly break 3k I always think a good travelling support is needed, of which there is an irony with the standard of the away section.

Derry you'd expect a near sell out.

Weather this week and a poor performance last week will see a drop off for us imo. I know just myself of 7/8 people who aren’t going to bother on Friday. Would be pleasantly surprised if we broke 3k again.

Not a Cork City fan, but there was just shy of 4k at the Shels game. I reckon that'll halve on Friday, they'll be going well to get 2.5-3K.

The Brandywell should have a decent crowd on Friday night. But the performance for the Harps game was so poor - and the away crowd for that bigger than at any other Derry games - so I'd be pleasantly surprised if it was close to a sell out.

My guess is that 3,000 would be a very good turnout for it (depending on how many Bohs bring).

I honestly don't think full houses at Dalymount and Tolka will put any real pressure on DCC to be honest. The council officers will neither know nor care, and we're still talking small numbers of people here after all.

The Councillors will feel a bit more pressure, but the finances will still be king on all of this - not whether there are 2,500 or 3,000 people at a game.

Was only talking about this as the Dlk v Cork game on Monday, Cork have had the biggest crowds in the period 2014-2018, but they also have the strange one of the biggest drops too, I think 6k + at a few of the Dlk games in these periods (along with other home games) then it dropped by maybe between 2k - 3k. Must have a huge floating support in the city.

Some reports are suggesting Tallaght could see its record attendance tomorrow night for a leageu game. Currently stands at just over 7k, Bohs game last year.

For this to break, Dundalk would need to take 1k (max I would think), and Rovers would need 5,500 with 500 nuetral maybe? Thats a big ask for all groups, but it might happen.

Kingswood Rover

Rovers Got near 5 k last week if you deduct the 200 cork fans from the 5100 gate and on an absolute **** night, Record attendance is a distinct ****abolity

Probably only about 7,000 seats though once they add in those ridiculous buffer zones.

The 4th stand which is being built next year will increase capacity to 10000 which is a theoretical 2k increase but will really give an increase of nearly 3000 as the away fans will get the new "north stand" and Dundalk or Bohs could bring 2k fans if the demand was there.
No need for buffers anymore and even the seat kills in front of the south stand could be drastically reduced.

There's been a few pitch incursions in Tallaght since the new stand went up, can understand why they the front few rows blocked off but it's a bit ridiculous putting seats in just to cover them

Less than 150 home end tickets left in Tallaght, I think capacity after seats are blocked off is 7500.

Just over 3,000 at the Brandywell tonight. Sections F G H I J and K were rammed with people two deep standing behind the seats as most of the stand was full. Great 2nd half with a great atmosphere.
