Our unbeaten run will continue this week, guarantee it!!!!

Key games outside of title challangers for different reasons. UCD are due a win and I think could rebound a bit and get a result in Cork. The rest of the games will go some way to show where clubs are at Sligo have picked up some good results now, Derry need the win and Pats expectations will be tested again. Obviously an important game in Dalymount, Bohs have been a difficult game for Dundalk more often than not over the last number of seasons.

Will be very pleasantly surprised should we get anything out of tomorrow. Fully anticipating another bleak performance and team selection.

Heading up but don’t expect much from the game after last week, I’m on the fence still but reckon the tide is turning slowly against Kenny. It’s a tough run of fixtures ahead so it will be interesting if can bounce back.

I'm expecting nothing out of this game, but I hope I'm wrong. Considering our style (or lack of) play, is Kenny MoN in disguise!

He's no Michael O'Neill.
From the highlights against Waterford Pats looked as if they had a lot of chances but no Christy Fagan type player to finish them .

Interesting that despite being the most densely populated area in the country LOI clubs wise there isn't a single game on in South Dublin this weekend. Wonder when that last happened? Probably before Cabo joined the league?

Another interesting evening ! Dundalk starting to build up a head of steam so hopefully we can put the brakes on them. I would expect Derry to win at home but if Pats in the mood it could easily end up a draw. Would also expect Cork to grind out a win at home and add to their mini revival (large oaks.....)
Waterford to edge Saturday nights fare, just.

Lovely day in Dublin so hopefully people will get out and attend a game

Thinking about going to Dalyer as a "neutral" to get my football fix.
Its that or Tolka

I would guess that Bohs fans will be talking about Dundalk's dark arts/referee after tonights game!?

Bohs are good but missed Ward. When he came on they looked more dangerous against a solid defensive perfromance. Plenty of endeavour from both sides, Dundalk passed and played at pace. Foraged well down the wings but didnt make that count as often as we could. Looks to have been a great travelling crowd, on top of a sold out Jodi Stand it must be close to a 3.5/4k gate. Good 3 points and the 2nd goal was absolutely key as Bohs were taking control. Top of the league after a 13 point gap and a whole midfield out injured so we have little to complain about.

UCD like Harps need a miracle now. A point was kind of no good to either Derry or Pats. Lets see if Sligo can keep results rolling v Waterford tomorrow.

joey B
10/05/2019, 8:58 PM
Favourable result in Cork for us,UCD on a bad run now,6 defeats in a row 1 goal scored in that run aswell, fairly safe to say we're both playing for a play off even at this early stage.

Two great goals at the Brandywell. Nothing else after. Pats goal might even get worldy status, some hit.

Another alarmingly underwhelming win from Shels against a still very poor Athlone team. After an atrocious first half effort we improved in the 2nd to go 2-1 up, then our penalty taker misses for the 2nd week in a row and then we get away with murder in stoppage time when Athlone's striker scuffs what should have been tap-in off the post and wide

Men against Boys in Dalymount.
Some bitching and diving from the men though.
Some amount of nastiness from the full timers too.2-0 ahead and another boot left in on 93rd minute to break Conor Levingstons foot. That Georgie Kelly is another piece of work.
Almost hope that Rovers beat you to title.

Was a hard fought game, both sides went in 100% for every challenge

No bad tackles from either side

Better team won get over it

The moaning from Bohs fans is becoming very tiresome. Sometimes lads you just lose to the better team, it's not always the refs fault or cheating from the opposition.

We've been beaten twice this season and no complaints over either result, better team won on the night.

The game in Oriel we were by far the better team, and you got a penalty because Kelly/Gannon (can't remember which) took a dive outside the box.

Last night, you were the better team, but it could have been a different result with a referee without a history (https://www.irishmirror.ie/sport/soccer/soccer-news/referee-influenced-dundalk-manager-stephen-10235768) of giving you questionable (https://www.derryjournal.com/sport/football/derry-city/it-s-time-to-meet-the-man-in-the-middle-insists-kenny-shiels-1-8472423) decisions. Jarvis should have been sent off for two yellows, there was a blatant handball in the run-up to your first goal, and you got a penalty after Duffy took a tumble loosing control of the ball while our two arguably more valid penalty claims weren't given. Professional performance by Dundalk, but I think this tweet (https://twitter.com/seidodge/status/1121808637582876672) from when you were further down the table shows how you've a habit of getting decisions.

Waterford and Sligo draw 3 each in the RSC,sounded like a good game.
Big result for Cabo beating Longford in CCS a bit of a mental league this year.

Great entertainment in the RSC last night. The second half especially was crazy with all out attacking football from 2 teams who just went for the win. Both keepers saved a penalty and it could have been 5 5 with some bad misses from play as well. Anthony Buttimer's unpredictable refereeing added to the madness but a draw was probably fair.

There was no doubting who deserved the win.Dundalk have an amazing ability to work and press relentlessly up the pitch for 90 plus minutes.
It's the unsavoury side of their play, which the Ref chose to ignore, that I had an issue with on Friday, with the resulting serious consequences for one of our young players.
Leahy almost suffered the same fate as Levingston when Georgie Kelly left his studs in when Leahy was clearing the ball in the second half.
No doubt Dundalk posters see this being pointed out as "whinging"

Here's the other view of the Kelly/Leahy incident. It happened right in front of me. Kelly never made any contact and it was play acting from Leahy. He wanted to get Kelly sent off because the game was slipping away and Bohs weren't going to get back into it 11 v 11

This is how i seen as well.Bohs also were kicking-out in frustration early in the match as they couldn't keep up with the pace.Took them a while to catch up.
Great goal by Georgie, back to the goal turns and smashes it in!Hoare waited in the clouds for Dundalk's 2nd :D keeper at sea.Pen miss inspired Dundalk.
Great crowd up from town.Great atmosphere despite a poor enough match but we were handy on the pedal for most of the game.Micheal Duffy still doing laps round Dalyer!Bohs record against us in the league is dismal.

The ref was bad, and allowed Dundalk dictate decisions (including over ruling his own linesman at one point) BUT Dundalk were much the better side and fully deserved the win.
Giller is right about the peno and Long about the result.
Seems anyone who doesn't buy the Dundalk are "perfect" narrative is a whinger 🤨
They are a cracking team (and IMHO will walk the League) but they do often get decisions (Connolly must have more MOM awards than any other name at Oriel 😁).

I didn't notice the Conor Levingston injury that you mentioned so can't really comment on how it happened. Was there even a free kick awarded?

As regards the Georgie Kelly / Darragh Leahy incident, there was certainly no contact, no foul and no free. No reaction from the ref or linesman either.

There seems to be hysterical reactions from Bohs fans after every defeat.

"Hysterical reaction"
- YOU doubted it was a penalty at Oriel
- Dan McDonnell mentioned the Jarvis hand ball in the lead up to the first goal.

All hysterical reaction ????

Connolly is a useless ref who had a poor game even by his low standards. That's taking nothing from Dundalk it's simply stating a fact. Get over yourself FFS

Pity the high morals of Bohs fans don't stretch to the derby games. Not a problem when you're getting the decisions
