View Full Version : Kits 2018
Pat’s and Derry best of the lot so far. No real secret to creating a classic kit: keep it simple. Still holding out hope for the new Dundalk away. Though going on current cx+ form it’ll probably be brown with a lace tie-up collar.
Indeed. I think the Pats shirt is lovely. Simple and classy. That's all you need. And return of the white sleeves, which was a must really.

That Limerick shirt would look a lot nicer without that diagonal thing going on, and just had the dark green stripes across all the way down.
Bohs away shirt is class. Limerick is just more tired teamwear from Umbro. Hopefully they’ll launch a new teamwear range in the summer.

I'd say it's only ok.
Last year's away one was a lot nicer imho.

Yes for purely design standard but I like the throwback collar and the design in the material. Very early 90’s!

I'd describe the Bohs away one as 'very ordinary' tbh.

How many teams are now sponsored by gambling companies? Seems to be more and more, plus the FAI’s deal with Trackchamp if that’s still a thing. It’s a good thing there’s been no issues with match fixing or anything like that.

Limerick away with that very over-used Umbro template. Their Hummel kit was excellent, I'll never know why they leave a forward thinking manufacturer to hook up with dull teamwear.

Loving the Derry home shirt. Completely knocks Cork’s version of the Adidas jersey out of the water in my opinion

Derrys shirt is quite nice, when Adidas get it right they really can produce lovely stuff (stripes will always be a personal favourite for me). And as much as it pains me to say the bohs away is a nice kit as well, fair is fair. The Rest (including our own - Rovers) are pretty uninspiring.

The UCC logo with a load of text below it would ruin any design.

Sponsorship logos ruin a lot of kits. The design and size of the logo on the Derry shirt is an example of how to do it right.

I like round collars and the kit supplier logo on Derry's home jersey is usually black rather than red, so there's a lot of red on this one, but it's still a nice jersey.

Limerick home kit. Very plain, nothing special. White band around the neck should meet at the front.

It's like they changed their minds halfway through designing it. Limericks is miles better even if it looks like they used Pritt Stick to put the sponsor on.

Are Waterford - aka 'The Blues' - really going to play home games in a shirt that is almost entirely yellow ? Or have I somehow got the wrong image ?

I like the Limerick one, classy and simple, Waterford one is dreadful, maybe for an away kit to have something like those squares, but not for the home top.
Actually as both are blue, are Limerick and Waterford both all blue? as in shorts and socks.

We’re all blue for the home kit usually. Yellow and blue away shirt and last years whute away shirt as the third kit as far as I know

Yes I’d agree with above photo, Waterford top looks a bit better in that.
On the subject of Limerick and Waterford, I’d say it’s a good few years since both last played in the Premier Division at the same time?

1992-93 season ? After which Waterford went down in a play-off with Monaghan.
Though Limerick were the ones who were more absent from the PD than Waterford in the following years.

I like it, same colour scheme as the last Umbro away shirt.
The sponsorship logo is more subtle than on the home shirt and the crest is back to it's normal colour.
