No loss, didn't think the players were in any better condition than they were under Derek McCarthy and Derek was hammered for the job he did. Neil Mc just bringing in his own guy maybe?

The players strongly disagree with your assessment.

Strong rumours too that Lee J Lynch is out the door this week unless the club do a massive u-turn.

I remember the League Cup Final where the players were dead on their feet at 70-75 minutes, but they had improved this season right? Did Gamble and McDonald not get along?

According to majority of players I have spoken to which are the majority of players about Joe he is the best fitness coach they have ever had. One I spoke to earlier said he would be a huge pull for players to go to Waterford.

It's not a McDonald/Gamble issue.

Ah stop, the teams fitness was way off acceptable standards under Derek McCarthy, and rightly sorted before it got worse ,massive difference under Gamble.

Not according to the two players I spoke to... they were more of the opinion that the manager got rid of the tubby guys and that brought the average fitness levels up...but look, we could play knifey spooney all night. If he is going to Waterford it won't attract any of our players to go there. If they're paying big money, now that could attract some of our players to go there.

Lee J hasn't been happy with the setup for months, I thought he would stay because of the girlfriend. Nobody will be surprised anyway this club is a continuous cycle of incompetency.

I’ve then heard that Lee Jay said McDonald is an excellent coach and as time has gone on the players have been very impressed by him where as when he first arrived they weren’t too happy with his hard nosed approach. That’s the problem right there though, depending who you talk to you will hear different stories and different opinions. Players will do and say what’s best for them and what they want people to hear. That is at every level of football.

But what has one got to do with another? Maybe he does think Neil is a fantastic manager and is still sick to death of the setup at the club. The players absolutely hate having to deal with the club when it comes to new contracts because it's amateur hour.

Shane Duggan spent half of last season seriously considering retiring from the game altogether because the lies and nonsense he has had to deal with at this club has turned him off the game. I won't be surprised if he does sign back for the handy money he is on but doesn't try an inch and I don't even blame him.

Tosi played for far less than he was on previously and less than he could have got elsewhere because of Joe. Nothing to do with Joe as a coach though just cos he knew him.

Your pretty sure Tosi is not going to stay around?

According to him the offer made to him was one that was quite clearly aimed at getting him to leave as there was never a hope he was gonna accept it.

Wouldn't be like a player to say that. Pay me more or I'm gone. We've been on this particular merry go round for years now, surprised at the naivety of some of you. Disappointed even.

Joe Gamble leaving personifies everything wrong with the running of the club and fans frustration. If Joe's leaving was voluntary or was pushed, either way that's life. The fact that the club hasn't bothered to inform fans on the website or social media is, in this day and age, terrible. It just leaves a negative vacuam to be filled and shows the disdain in which fans are viewed .. The club is a dead duck and all the tea is China won't fix the problems that are endemic .. A huge job is needed in organisational aspect of the club, failing that..it's a ticking time bomb with an ever shortening fuse.

Cos the ones that have seen the same mistakes over and over and over again and think everything is just fine aren't being naive at all.

There is a huge difference between not overpaying someone and not offering them what they are worth and there is a huge difference between playing hardball and just plain playing stupid. If the details of one of our dealings with players this year gets out its just so embarrassing and amateur.

Treaty Gooner

People on here are being naive swallowing everything the players tell you. Things aren't good at the club but they're not good at probably 99% of LOI clubs and it's silly to think otherwise. Where's our centre in Knockalisheen? Where's our training complex in Bruff? Where's Fr Joe? Where's Leo the Lion? Where's Danny Drew? Where's Daithi McMahon? Noel O'Connor? Noel King? Where's everything we said would make everything else ok? Where's the Markets Fi...ok I'll give them that one.

Ugh forgot about editing on phone deleting messages.

Stuff you are talking about have absolutely nothing to do with the fact a key member of staff and a key player are more than likely out the door this week along with the fact none of the others offered deals have signed though. But then talking about something nothing to do with the point is as much a part of Limerick FC off-season as our yearly just missing out on some top player.

More of the whole I have no answer so ill just talk complete and utter nonsense instead.

Who is to blame for the club constantly making a balls of off seasons hmmm that's a tough one. Could it be the club to blame maybe? Surely not its probably the mormons.

I hope this is some kind of plan from the club or McDonald. People can over exaggerate to avoid the point all they like but we are in no position to be losing our best players especially not to one of the only teams to finish behind us last season.

If we stay the same level as last season we go down next season nevermind if we get weaker.

Killian Brouder considering leaving apparently.
Has already turned down Finn Harps, could be headed to Galway United where fellow Newcastle West man Gary Shanahan is at present.

Good move for the boy, a season or two at first division level will do him no harm. We've signed another Cork wünderkind.

Either a great signing or a big worry depending on what he is imo.

Young exciting prospect competing with 3 senior midfielders for gametime= great signing.

Replacement for one of Lynch, Duggan or Hery= Massive worry

Coleman is a very good signing in my opinion. Was a key part of Cork u19 that did well in Europe along with Ogbene. Equally comfortable in midfield or centre half. Talented kid with an unreal attitude by all accounts.

Agree with BWA though has to be first of many

Some weeks ago McNamee was mentioned as a potential signing (http://www.limerickleader.ie/news/soccer/277849/limerick-fc-chase-barry-mcnamee-as-english-sides-eye-chiedozie-ogbene.html) for the Markets Field side, but unfortunately, it seems that Limerick cannot compete in the transfer market once Cork City are shopping ....

We can't do nothing right .. It's the perennial Limerick problem .. But, what are we sending out to bat for us.

McNamee was a terrible miss so he`s going to stay in Limerick but he will travel rather than play for Limerick.
Penalty Kick not converted. If that one can`t be tied up what can????
Lots of players offered quite a bit less than they were on last year by all accounts.
Tosi & Hery leaving would be the nail in the coffin.
Can`t see Dozie staying either.
Also Chris Coleman isn`t a player for next year. maybe 1-2 years time
(will prob make a good 1st division player the year after next)
At least Henry Cameron will remain :D onwards and upwards

I don't think McNamee signing for the league champions an hour down the road constitutes a failure to be honest.

Xmas3Formation
08/11/2017, 4:09 PM
Nah me either it was a fantastic success for Cork City that is.
he`d rather travel 3 hours minimum a day 5 days a week from UL to Curraheen.
why bother trying to sign any top quality players when the league champions are so close.
In the meantime lose half of your current players also.
Fantastic Masterplan

LK37oldskool

Players were offered same as last year. None of them were offered any less. Considering they just managed to keep us up I don't see why they should be paid more.
