First squad of year https://www.fai.ie/ireland/news/ireland-u16s-osam-names-squad-for-romania-games . No okoflex from arsenal seeing that he was born here and lived here till 12 this would be a proper kick in the nads if the Brit's snatch him. No parrot or the 2 Utd forwards so maybe we r just leaving out attacking players!! Really interesting to see Hodge from man city in there. He played at 15s last season but then played with Brit's and has played loads for them this season. Really surprised he is back in the fold maybe a good sign. I am nearly sure he is eligible for the under 15s this season

It was a fitting end for Timi Sobowale to lift the cup for the school today as he will leave us to continue his education and progress his footballing career at the Manchester City Academy. We wish him all the best and it is great to send him on his way with no less than three Munster titles.

Very interesting to note the amount of players with schoolboy clubs. Sobowale and Healy are with clubs in Munster. Troy Parrott is already with Spurs (not Belvedere) and Jimmy Corcoran listed with Cherry Orchard. Any other player listed with an Irish club is listed as being with a LOI underage set up.

http://www.fai.ie/ireland/news/ireland-u16-osam-names-squad-for-swedish-tournament. Latest 16s squad. Very surprised to see Hodge in he has been a mainstay for the brits since playing for us last season seems odd to include him unless he is still seriously considering us over the brits. Likewise Riley who seems to be a first choice Also for England. No okoflex perhaps he has decided to stick with England at 17s next season and does not want to waste someone else's place

The keeper from City seems to have been signed from norwich and been involved with england as well. The victory shield is in ireland in november i think supposedly in kerry

Here's my answer on that Louie Barry. With a tweet like this when he was 10 there is no way on Earth he should be allowed to pull on the green jersey.

Goals from the Bulgaria match here.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZUugIiT2INI

Four quality goals there, with slick passing, fast breaks, and forwards making space for themselves before finishing with aplomb. Defending for the Bulgarian goals left a little to be desired. Came away with a 1-1 draw in the second tie, after Osam made eight changes: http://www.fai.ie/ireland/news/ireland-u16-oran-crowe-header-earns-draw-in-bulgaria

barry obviously looks exciting and Is first choice also at this level for england. Do people agree with this policy of using under 15 and 16 to Let dual players try us out before they have to make a decision(not Final) At under 17 ? Interestingly The brits Play Dual Player s At these levels constantly

Well beaten tonight. North were better side. McCormick in midfield was our best player. Barry was electric for 20 mins end of first half they shifted him wide left which unsettled us cause he didn't track back once. Harkin has some lovely skills out wide but is miles off it physically at the moment. we went long way too much and didn't play through midfield like we have the last few years at this level.

https://www.fai.ie/ireland/news/ireland-u16-osam-names-squad-for-friendlies . New under 16 squad interesting quote about the high quality of the squad given that he has been in the role since 2015 so has had all the years starting with the age group who were this seasons 19s.

The 3 English based lads played 15s last season. Stephen Ireland s son is in this age group I think for England who they are playing

The two lads who played against Chelsea (Ferguson and young Glory) are included. You’d have to imagine there’s serious potential there...

Looking at the names in this thread, I wonder how many of Hodge, Everett, Delap, Ireland, Egan-Riley, Barry, Okoflex, Cirkin and Kavanagh will end up playing for us.

In reality, there's only going to be so many Irish-qualified members of the England senior team at any one time - last squad had four by my count (Keane, Rice, Kane and Wilson), two of whom were never part of our set-up. So I wouldn't worry about losing too many, especially if we remind them how many senior international caps Jack Grealish has and compare that with Callum O'Dowda's numbers ;)

Corcoran has been in training with Dundalk actually. Although not sure they need another goalkeeper, or a smart move for a young lad looking to play football.

The issue at PNE seems to be that they don't have a reserve/under 23 side. So if you come through the youth system there and you're not exceptional at that age, you're out the door fairly quickly. Not ideal as some players are later developers and don't get a fair shot.

If Aaron McCarey can’t get a game for love nor money, Jimmy won’t have a chance.

Seems mad with McCarey really, I mean without seeing him play recently, he might be the best keeper in the league... Yet he’s playing about 3 games a season

“We moved to Ireland and spent seven years there,” says the now 46-year-old whose second son, Cian, now playing with Brighton, was born here. During his time with the association, he subsequently managed the under-16 and under-17 national sides and he retains strong links to Ireland both personally and professionally.
