Biggest disappointment of the season is fairview rangers they look to be falling apart and turning into a social club.

Very harsh comment on Fairview, trying to rebuild after the failed era prior to the present mgt taking over.No doubt mistakee made up in the Fairgreen but the ship has steadied albeit without success.Surely the biggest disappointments have been Nenagh and Ballananty, the Tipp side pushed for the league last season ,look at them now?As for Ballananty nothing short of a shambles the way their season has panned out ,saved only by the chink of light that is the Lawson Cup.

Harsh maybe but definitely true based on the evidence week in and week out.

Nenagh did not step up an extra gear that was needed to push for trophies but this is just their second year in the limerick league, balla are going for 3 Lawsons in a row they are still way off winning league titles, I can't remember the last time fairview rangers won a local trophy and I think it's badly needed the league points tally doesn't show the ship is steadied.

Great win for Balla today going for 3 in a row in the Lawson. Extra time and penos would have been the last thing Pike wanted.

Good result for Ballananty ,keeps their season alive and a couple of wily veterans played their part in that win.Janesboro continue on their merry way hammering a very youthfull Fairview,Carew fail to turn up to play Holycross,Moyross hammered ...again,Regional beat Aisling though their season is just gonig like all those previous to this one.

It would be a great achievement for balla , pike had a lot of young lads playing future looks healthy.

Did they??

Gary Neville, Jason Mullins, Eddie Donovan, Pat Mullins, Brian O’Callaghan, Shane Walsh, Darragh Carroll, Steven McGann, Eoin Hanrahan, Paddy O’Malley, Cian Collins according to the Leader. Wouldn’t call that a lot of young lads?

TG is correct no young lads in that team and bar maybe one game the youths hav,n been started that much ,coming on off the bench alright.

Adam lipper , Cian power , TJ o Dwyer all participated and Kyle dugig was a sub not used all are playing youths

Gary Neville, Shane walsh and Cian Collins are all young lads some of the youths have played against Killarney Celtic away and northend on in particular scored so very healthy looking , let's hope they can add to the success sat

I see

best of luck to Pike on Saturday anyway. Hope they do it.

Big game the following week v Boro in the Munster junior final too, it would be a big ask for them to do both.

Lawson on Sunday as well, Balla at home to AA. I fancy them to win but lose to Boro in the final. If Boro overcome Geraldine’s which they probably should.

My predictions:

FAI: Pike. The experienced players to win it for them.
Munster: Boro. Don’t think pike will have the fuel in the tank to beat them 6 days after the Aviva.
Lawson: Boro. Too much firepower for either Balla or AA or Geraldine’s.

Pike will have too much for northend and will win , playing the Munster junior final 6 days after the fai gives boro a huge advantage an advantage I think they will need.

Pike worthy winners , credit to pike with so many players missing. Boros top players fail to produce in big occasions.

Some result for Pike,a lot of Janesboro players missing in action ,not a bad game but not a lot a chances either.Super goal from Mcgann and he played well along with a few others who upped their game from last week when like Boro players on Friday night failed to produce.Dont know how the referee gave Boro,s goal. or maybe it was the linesman?.

What a shame to see Granville out of football.as has happened other clubs previously the lack of help and support to the hardwoerking few probably dwindled year on year to the point of no return for those dedicated to the cause .A move by the LDSL to take over tenacy if true vis a great move..Surely Janesboro will be crowned champions tomorrow night.Another walkover given last Sunday by Moyross, too many of these throughout the leagues ,council need to act strongly.

I have to agree , the ldmc need to change it up and add some incentives, giving walk overs takes the value away from any trophy and at this level it shouldn't happen.

robotwarsfan
31/05/2018, 10:14 PM
but even if they do try to run it properly everyone gives out saying "why schedule a league match 3 or 6 days before a cup final", its because they have to due to the weather being so bad this year, even in the desmond league, the premier division and division 2 will still be getting played next week, even a few cup finals, and thats with friday night games being played the last 2 months, although i saw they brought in a rule that no1 can play there last 4 league games until everyone has same amount of games played. would that work in the district?

Couldn't agree more, the league has been a total farce the way it has been ran this year, shame on the ldmc and the fixtures secretary and as for the boros so called unbeaten season what a joke that is with there 'agreed draws' against other teams
Hopefully balla win the lawson the weekend

Well Janesboro didn’t lose a game did they, not their fault the league went the way it did. Poor league this year, if they want to go on about it after missing out on bigger trophies they’re entitled to.

Fairkop
08/06/2018, 7:53 PM
Agree with TG on this one,Janesboro wont care what way league is run and tbf their league run was fair and square playing teams when league was competitive,to win that many games and go unbeaten makes up some league run so fair play to them...if they had lost a couple surely then the league would have turned to farce given the amount of walkovers Pike got.Dont see where Janesboro agreed draws?only game i can make out not played was v Carew park,is that correct?and league was won then,so Boro should celebrate an unbeaten season, has it been done before?.Well done Charleviller ,kept going and stayed up,Moyross have dropped a long way down from the highs of a few years ago.League needs to be revamped to 10 teams..1 up 1 down auto and a playoff for other spot imo.I suppose rumour mill will kick in soon.

Boro win the Lawson. Awful carry on with Aaron Noonan. Obviously he can do whatever he wants but the game is rotten in Limerick.

Treaty Gooner
10/06/2018, 7:41 PM
Didn’t show up for his club in a cup final, story is he’s signing for Balla next season, they got him a job. No such thing as loyalty for years now but that’s low if true.

Fairkop
10/06/2018, 9:19 PM
FFS,Ballananty get him a job and he does,n show up to play against them in the final, poor form out of both of them.Poor final it must be said,Janesboro short quite a few players.Sillt decision by Balla,s centre half Meehan to bring Clarke down for pen, cost them the match imo, brilliant header by Clarke to win it.Some season for Janesboro.

A player that doesn't turn up for a Lawson cup final under those circumstances will tell you a lot about he's character, I would suggest he should look up the history of that trophy, well done boro to come from a goal down short a few players as well. Defensively balla were very poor.

Kennycon
11/06/2018, 6:45 AM
LDMC need to install a much stiffer punishment for walkovers at this level. It takes value away from any trophy

Treaty Gooner
22/06/2018, 10:36 AM
Should be kicking on really, any relegation battles they had are a few years ago now. Shows how it’s all gone though if they’re investing.
Promoted teams will be interesting too, nobody will fancy going to Prospect and Dines have a lot of Premier experience in the squad if they can keep them.

Eddie hickey , mike ahearn and Jason o Connor 3 senior lads, mike and Jason probably need to produce a few trophies but should be a great combination. Eddie brings great experience and winning mentality. Prospect will be no push over

Thought Hickey was with Pike?Very surprised by Aherns appointment ,his spell at the then champions Carew Park was a disaster ,i presume O Connor is the manager.

Treaty Gooner
26/06/2018, 3:53 PM
O’Connor has been a disaster at every junior club he’s been at too but maybe this will be a good fit for him. Ahern was shafted at Carew and he has some rebuilding to his reputation to do too. Eddie has a good pedigree to be fair. Could be a good mix.

O Connor is struggling to get he's managerial career going , he's record is poor with all the clubs he managed but mike could still come good and Eddie hickey great experience.
