No insult intended.

Study can contradict himself in the same sentence. At least you took a whole paragraph to do that

But as I said it isn't a contradiction to say a draw would have been fair but bohs deserved the win

About 2 second between keeper going down and ball going in, can't blame him for that
How long do you need to see somebody's been kicked in the head?

Anyway, Bohs good value for their win. Thought we did enough to equalise late on but all in all we weren't good enough to get anything from the game. Boyd/O'Connor lashing wide in injury time was a chance that should have been put away. Smashing goal from Akinade too.

Looks like there's a very good chance we will win the league in Ballybofey now. Might head up to Donegal for the weekend and take in Derry -dundalk in case we win it there

Pretty poor game in Uited Park on Friday night but Pats got the job done thanks to an unreal save from O'Malley in the last minute. Drogs look to be gone, our next 2 games are away to Sligo and Home to Harps, we really need a minimum of 4 points out of the two games.

I'm now convinced Rovers are losing games on purpose to get us relegated, first Sligo and ow Bohs.

On another note, Cork are going to win the league and Caulfield will get manager of the season which is absolutely fair but special mention to Ollie Horgan, Harps could finish as high as 5th if they keep going they way they are, brilliant season

The back heeled nutmeg from Dinny C played into the path of Akinade, is worth looking at again and again.Three potential goals of the season in the last two Bohs v Rovers games.

Was a tasty bit of skill alright. The 2 of them linked up well all night. Long may it continue.

Very tricky one for us tonight I reckon. Bohs have been good away from home and will be on a high after Friday. With Akinade back I can see them finishing strongly. I don't think we will go unbeaten between now and the end of the year, but it would be great to get the title wrapped up sooner rather than later.. it won't be real until it's mathematically done for me.

Handy win for Derry last night in Buncrana. Scored after 32 seconds, with a second nine minutes in. It was basically game over that point. Limerick heads dropped, we were content to take our time, passing it about a lot.
Sets us up nicely for our Cup Final in Tallaght on Friday now.

On Limerick, if I was a fan, I'd be worried. They were really poor, created little, Doherty had one save of note to make. They looked very flat. Maybe you could put that down to being two down after nine minutes, but still. They're five points off relegation, would need to be careful.

After the glory in Tallaght on Friday, anything will be a bonus tonight. It will depend on what team Long decides to put out. It will be asking a lot of the players to produce the goods again so soon after that Herculean effort and it wouldn't surprise me if he significantly shuffled the deck.

The bigger game is on Friday at Dalymount. Win that and we would be dragging Bray right down into the mix.

I wouldn't be surprised if Bohs were beaten convincingly by Cork, given how inconsistent their season has been. They've had some great results then often follow them up with v flat performances. And i don't mean that as a criticism. Given that they're part time and have one of the lowest budgets in the league they're having an excellent season.

If Derry can follow up with a win in Tallaght (reasonably likely given Rovers record against Derry & the fact they're struggling badly with injuries) surely that'd be the top 3 more or less sorted for the season?
Also, given the gap at the bottom that's opened up in the last fortnight, IMO its a big ask to see any of the current bottom 3 pull themselves clear, so have we a bit of an anticlimactic end to the season? Cup competitions aside of course.

Ollie Horgan in the Showgrounds again Saturday nite. Wearing Gah kit that had football socks with his phone in one and his wallet in the other sock. LOI hipster of the year award done and dusted.

On Saturday, Ollie attended a club related funeral, then U19 game, then went to Showgrounds and finally went to a supporter event and presented prizes etc. At least a 13 hour day. Up next day for training, then to Maginn for Derry v Limerick. That's just the bits I happen to know about. He never stops.

Well now. That's a turnip for the books. Who'd have thunk it would be Bohs to end the Cork unbeaten run, in Turners Cross too. Complacency from Cork, or are they just missing their talisman goal scorer ?

We should have been 3 or 4 up at half time. Really missed Sean tonight. Second half Bohs came out strong - we got back into it and then the pen. I honestly didn't think it was a pen, or even in the box but as I was at the far end I'll give the ref the benefit of the doubt. Bohs then resorted to delaying tactics as it their right and while we improved the ball just wasn't falling for us. We had a few chances late on but not high enough quality. Sadlier has a long way to go to get to the required level and Campion has a long way to go to find a club that will take him on.

Inexperience at the back, it was a poor penalty to concede, and we were fortunate not to give away another one or two sloppy goals thanks to McNulty. Robbie Williams could turn out to be a very good signing for us because we are short at the back due to injuries. We had the better of the play but Bohs deserved their win. Shane Supple was one of a handful of Bohs players who didn't waste time to his credit, he's a fine keeper.

Too many changes on the City team tonight. No Morrissey, no McCormack, no Bennett, a young CB (McCarthy) who had a mare, and a useless centre forward (Campion) who botched several good goal scoring chances.

Bohs fluffed 2 one on ones first half but scored from a stonewall pen 2nd half. Time wasting antics is what you'd expect in that situation. City not good enough to overcome them.

Some turnaround from Friday. I was trudging out to Tallaght fearing the worst on the back of a three game losing streak. Defeat out there would have thrown us well and truly back in the relegation mixer. But two wins in four days away to Rovers and Cork have us dreaming of Europe.

It really is a funny oul game.

Yeah I was just looking at the table, mad what 2 wins has done for ye.

Next few league games have us coming up against teams fighting at around the bottom, drogheda, Sligo and harps. Very tricky games this time of year.

Outside distraction of an unbeaten season is gone, now let's get this title wrapped up, the sooner the better.

Can't understand why being unbeaten was a distraction, the league is won so the only thing left to achieve in it was to go unbeaten. I'd be very disappointed if I was a Cork fan won't get a better chance IMO

Penalty aside I don't see a difference there. I said that I didn't get a good view and the highlights show I was wrong on the location of it at least. Having seen the reply I wouldn't call it stonewall but it was a silly tackle to be making in that area. Same category as the penalty in tallght this year. Don't give the opposition an excuse in those areas when your chance of making the tackle cleanly is so low. McCarthy is very young though and will learn. He did his leaving cert in June.

I'm gutted to lose the unbeaten run. We're most likely trying to put a positive spin on the loss. We'll never ever have a better chance to go unbeaten. We probably won a lot of games we had no right to win this season, and given the size of our squad and disruption to our team due to injuries its a minor miracle we got this far. 21 games is incredible to be fair. Horrible to lose it at home especially. Plenty still to play for, perhaps we won't win the league in the next week or two but we will win it with a good few games to spare. With the unbeaten thing out of the way no excuse not to put our full focus on the cups once we have the title wrapped up. Hopefully we can give the treble a good run but we have no divine right to either of them, and as Pats/Rovers well know Cup victories are not easy, no matter how badly you want them.

Thats not a dig by the way, just saying that no matter how good a team you have you can find it extremely difficult to win the cup and both teams had their droughts so desire was not an issue.

Well I suppose after every win we got the focus on going unbeaten intensified in the media. It is disappointing to lose it, and at home too. But I guess no one thought we'd get to 23 games to only lose our first game. Drogheda is a good game to bounce back in though, almost certain to go down you would think.

That run went a bit under the radar compared to Cork this season. Both away wins for Bohs and at a key time in their season both years. That said it was felt that Bohs were far the toughest team that Dundalk met that year with even a 0-3 win in Dalymount considered as one of the most blessed 3 goal wins you'd ever see. They would be in command of the chase for the 2nd EL place bar players out imo.

Just for a bit of balance, Bohs were the only team to lose to the record-breaking Galway team in 2011 as well.
