The #Gaffer isn't involved with us bud. We used these games to blood a few of the younger lads from the B team that performed well with them last year.

They played 4-5-1 against grattan and it worked very well for them from what i saw add in the players they were missing robbie healy and keith harris and theyd have a very good squad. Surprised to see they only drew last night. Who is managing bohs now?

How will they tell if they are good enough to play A or not if they don't play them in a competitive fixture???? What better competition to test them out than in the Mossie? Friendlies don't tell much if a player is good enough or not . Competitive games are what shows it

Thats the reason why you play decent teams in Friendly if you have any ambitions to win anything...
Why play shipping league team and win 5 or 6 nil when you can play a Decent 1st division MSL team and get a proper workout..
Alot of teams past 2 or 3 years are playing games against low league teams winning and thinking every thing is gravy but when it comes down to it on A sunday Morning team are not upto it

Agree completely if i was manager of a team id be looking to play opposition that are a level above to see where we are really at. Its the players tho they are so fickle these days lose a couple of friendlies and there looking at other teams battering teams then as you say and they are looking to leave.

I disagree with you on this . Friendlies can be pretty much meaningless other than for getting your fitness up . So many substitutions in games disrupt the flow of the game and you cant really tell anything a lot of the time regardless of the quality of the opposition . You don't get to see a players true worth until they are playing in a game that actually means something

I Agree with you 100% regarding to many subs can ruin a game that's why you tell the lads in training or on Match day look lad's these games are all about getting a look at everyone some peoplemight play 90 some 45 ans some very little time but their is also another game on thursday where other lads will get their chance..
Not play some shipping league crowd win 4-0 Player A got 3 on Wednesday A MJL team win 6-1 Player A got 4 but On a wet Sunday morning down in Rylane getting changed out of a portocabin Player A is moaning about having 2 odd socks and mot getting A sniff... Know your team before league starts..

Friendlies are meaningless unless the you have the fellas signed first day. Mossie is good prep for the league. I think the teams knocked out of the group stages should go in to a shield competition - keep fellas interested through the season.

Not involved with Leeview lads was just wondering as there seems to be a lot extra B teams this year as of friendlies absolutely pointless playing teams when you know ur going to hockey them just gives a false sense of how good you think you are and more than likely will get found out fairly quickly

Could also be used to give some lads game time we all know A Cork team wont win it in the next 10 years..But at least with the 3 games to get out of cork you can rotate players to keep them happy.

Clubs get paid money for being in the champions league . Television rights etc. So to be honest that's a ridiculous comparison . Junior soccer is the second tier of soccer in Cork . Some of the so called junior teams in this country have bigger budgets than some league of Ireland first division teams . My post was a question by the way not a statement. I am curious to know why clubs aren't entering the FAI junior cup ?

I don't think your post was entirely a question in fairness. You insinuate that Cork clubs don't enter because they know they have no chance of winning. Why do up to 600 other teams enter the FAI Junior Cup when they haven't a hope of winning it? One of the biggest attractions of this competition is attempting to get out of your area and going places and playing teams you've never met before I would suggest. And in fairness to Aviva they have really got behind the competition in recent years. Clubs that reach quarter finals (by no means impossbile with a half decent draw) can expect a lot of publicity and even some TV coverage. Definitely a competition worth entering in my opinion.

Why enter A Competition where A club has Zero chance and will loose money if they progress ie Bus Trips to anywhere in Ireland be it A home fixture having to put in the perimeters around the pitch so People cant pass the barriers if weather is Bad rent a Astro for 2 hours another what €180..
No Brainer to me if i was involved in Football again dont enter it get a league game while other teams are in it get points on the board while the lads are interested in going on the P**S around the country...

If clubs have a problem with driving a few stakes in to the ground and hanging some rope (and you're right, they probably do), it's amazing they can drag themselves out of bed to even play a match.

So Starting with the Prem games at the weekend big 1 was Grattan keeping the noisey neighbours quiet alot had been built up on Social media past few moths and especially by the Knocka manager.but Saturday's result should keep them quiet for a few games at least..Grattan deserved their win According to Barry Peelo.
Glenthorn blew A poor lakewood side apart Lakewood struggling at the moment some would say although i must admit i did fancy them to do well for the coming season but A rift with some players not getting on with the newer players could be the clause in some of the results Glenthorn going well and scoring alot of Goals.
Village winning well not a shock either Carrigtwoholl who are very poor and have been for some time now.
Regarding Aoh Cup results not many upsets in this cup temas progressing who should of in my eyes interesting that the Fairvew game was called off

You must be thinking the manager is someone else. Because he was telling the players to stay away from social media regarding that match. But once again the keyboard warriors come out after the match.

Would Cork Aul be interested in getting another person involved who can also have his write ups on the Echo i See MSL have 3 if not more reporting on games.
