Heard the player Sean was talking to in England at the weekend was Colin Doyle . In case the name rings a bell yes he was the keeper in Goal for Forest against Spurs.Birmingham were letting him out on loan or something and Forest came in late to cover a keeper crisis which got worse and that why he played Saturday and he is remaianing with them until end of season.
So that one that got away

Was just making sure it was the same bloke. Heard good things about him last season but when we played Limerick he was the worst player on the pitch by a mile, very poor preformance. He got absolutey destroyed by Zayed everytime he attacked him.

I said the same thing about him, for us David O'Dowd took the p*ss out of him. I thought maybe it was just an off day he was having ??

thanks for your witty repartee vinny but i have to disagree with your comments . David O Dowd was never more than a hardworking honest player with an unfortunate void of talent. I may be harsh it could be that his time is galway has turned hiim into a ronaldinho like talent , but i doubt it .

Well the way it honestly looks to me is that obviously Sligo had a very poor coaching team. How ye can put a player like o'dowd down like that, I just cant comprehend?? It really sounds to me like ye miss him!

We will see how ye cope early on in the season when we meet in Terryland!!

Come on United

Which puts your new signing neatly in his place!

maybe i was too harsh i know david is a good worker and that is an assett in itself but its just that he never showed much in the way of talent at the showgrounds but i obviously know that players can improve and if david is doing well at galway i for one am happy for him.

In fairness being good at Galway and at Rovers are too different things the standard is a lot lower at Galway as we have seen with O'Brien,Keogh,Brennan etc who striuggled at a bigger club.

Last season does not count we were in the fourth year of an ex galway manager's 3 year plan.

indeed ye did. but we did take 6 points of ye. in truth a local team could have finished above us last year.things were just that bad. looking forward toplaying galway.always produces goals..all last seasons league games between us + ye finished 3-1 if i'm right. our away form needs to be spot on this year.we couldnt play away last year against anybody. i think we lost 15 aways games last year in all comps.

Agree with you there in da red. plenty of goals guaranteed each time we meet. We also had a very poor away form last year winning only 2 (I think) away from Terryland all season.

anyone who thinks o'dowd has a lick of talent is a dikk. works hard&he's fast but he's an idiot apart from that

Always with the personal insults!! sad sad sad

O'Dowd is a small time player so he fit's in well in Galway

about yalmard he is good it took a bit of adjusting to the game here coming from a league that likes to knock it about to ireland were its a lot more hoofing and closing people down does take time to adjust plus the whole moving to a different country and whole new club where you dont know any one isnt easy but once he had time to settle with lim and was one of the better players by the end of the season .

in short he is a good player ye are lucky to have him not too many natural left footed players about and most importantly he isnt a **** like so many other players now adays
