So who do people want out and what positions do we need to fill in the window? Any names interest you?
I see we have been linked with Owen Garvan.

Not so bothered about who goes out...I'm concerned about what comes in, and we need:
Right sided centre half
Left full back
Defensive midfielder
Striker
The latter 3 especially, need to have some pace about them.

Ya agree with above.
If Bolger could be tempted away from Cork he would be a perfect CDM but can't see that happening.
Another RB, CB, and a pacey striker and we would have a very strong team.
The link with Owen Garvan is in the main forum. Pats and Bray also interested.

We'll need a left back shortly if Tommy can't be persuaded to stay

Oh ya. I don't think it's his choice to stay. Been offered a chance to stay but has already said he has to go back.

Sunderland have took that decision. He has to go back for pre season.

So does this guy have a shot at a career in the team of a club like that, in the opinion of you lads who are watching him most weeks for us ?

He is still young enough but I'd have to say no. I wouldn't surprised to see him loaned somewhere in England or even signed by a league one club.

A proper CDM is the most important position for me, a player whose natural instincts are to protect the back 4 and not get caught out of position, other than that a CB and LB.
On a side note we desperately need more from our wingers, if playing one up front who do we see as our first choice wingers?

Saw that Garvan link in the paper alright, says between us, Bray and Pats, probably favours staying close to Dublin

Reckon we could comfortably outbid Pats if we were pushed though and if rumours of Bray are true you never know.

We don't have wingers.
Stephen Kenny isn't good enough.
Dean Clarke is broken.
Ian Turner.
Lee Jay isn't a winger.
Neither is Chris Mulhall.
Neither is Chedozie if you're going playing two up (which McDonald has said he favours.)
So that's a right sided centre half, a left back, a back up full back, a decent midfielder two wingers and a striker.
I am fully confident in our ability as a club to attract these players.

I think he will have to off load a few players to bring in that amount of players

I'm sure we could all name a dozen off the top of our heads.
Whether he will be in a position to do so with contracts and that is another story.
This guy is a serious guy on serious money. Club will hopefully back him.

Ronan Coughlan released by Huddersfield. Wouldn't mind seeing him signed up.

Garvan was on LOI Weekly last week - gave the impression that if hes coming back to Ireland its to be close to his family - so can't see him outside of the greater Dublin area. He specifically mentioned not wanting to be up and down the motorway, which I would assume was him ruling out Cork and Limerick as possible destinations, though we don't exactly have any room for him anyway.

Both Ronan and Sam Warde have been released, they would definitely be worth a look.

No reason we can't look at doing both. Could be an opportunity for Ronan to something similar to Seanie if he could establish himself here.

Seanie Maguire. Came back from England, took a bit of time here and has established himself as he has matured. Got the move back over then.

I was only joshing, young Sam Warde could be a good prospect. I agree with an earlier post where a mix of seasoned pros and young talent returning from the UK good be good for the club.

Depends how much money they want really I suppose. I would be hoping for 4 or 5 pros at least in the window and if it came down to money for one more experienced pro or the two lads I'd want the experienced head.
Joel Coustrain has been training with us too.

Glad to hear Coustrain is with us. Local lad and he seemed to be doing alright at under age with Sheffield Utd earning a pro contract. Got let go though and went to Scotland for a bit.
Did he get a run tonight?

Does anybody know anything about Damien Mccrory who is currently out of favour with with Burton Albion? Says on Wiki that he is from Limerick. He might be worth a shout.

He has been playing in englnd for years. Was a starter the year before last when Burton got promoted. Said before the start of the last season he would love to come back and play for Limerick. At the time it was just the usual talk but with being out of favour over it might be a possibility.

Reading posts from Blackpool fans it's not a great signing.
In saying that he is still very young and not long back from a serious injury so hopefully a fresh start will be good for him and he might kick on with us.

Just read on another post that Bray have informed the PFAI that all players wages are covered till next week and all players are free to move clubs. Definitely should look at one or two of them.
Btw will today's announcement be a surprise or the worst kept secret all week.

If Bray go to the wall how will it affect our standing? Looks very poor on the league if a 3rd place team folds mid season.

We will probably lose the 6 points we won from them.
