If we sign another centre back that will do fine as long as he is quality????

I'd personally like a left back too but ya a quality CB and I'd be happy.

Limerick FC with a little teaser on twitter. A picture of the arrivals out in Shannon. Could be the French player Thomas 72 mentioned.

And ye all laughed :)
Hopefully deal agreed with whoever it is and not just here to train for a week or so before club and player make a decision.

Bastein Hery the latest signing. Midfielder that has played with a few clubs in england. Man of the Match vs liverpool in the FA Cup or League Cup a few years ago.

Very interesting. Just one appearance for Accrington according to Wiki, wonder why. First Frenchman to play for the club?

Credit where it's due I thought the social media stuff from the club last night was excellent. It got people talking, sharing retweeting etc. And then to follow it up by announcing a strong signing this morning well done to those involved. Very important to get crowds in from day 1 this season, social media is key for that.

I know we were made sweat for a while but this squad is coming together nicely now. Agree that a CB and LB are the areas next in need of fresh faces.

Early 20s

Five foot nine

More of a number ten than anything.

Played a lot of ball in League One and Two the last few years. Didn't get on this year for whatever reason.

Duggy sitting

Himself and Lee Jay behind the Brazilian with Clarke and Ogbene on the wings.

It's going to be mad entertaining if nothing else!

We will beat someone 7-5 this season. Then lose our next game two nil to drogheda or something.

Good stuff I'd feel a whole lot better and confident about this season if we can just sort out our defence because as it stands we will be shipping alot of goals it will cost us alot of games you cannot come up against the calibre of strikers in thisleague with that defence.

The man who was constantly arriving where the ball had been three seconds earlier? Unforgettable.

What height is Ogbene? I some of the team training and there was a very physically impressive player there who looked to me a lot bigger than what I thought Ogbene was. Now I wasn't that close and it could have easily been ogbene but he seemed the tallest player training by far

Thanks, that seems about right to me for his height. The player training yesterday was at least 6'2" from where I was looking.

We've had a few different players in training over the last two weeks so could be someone different.

He's now a commentator for Fox Sports oddly enough. Came across him one day when watching a foreign feed of a game. ****e player

Really? Between that and Andrew Keeshan's long run as GK coach for FC Dallas there have been some interesting 'where are they now' stories from our dark days...

Interview with that Brazilian lad we signed on the sun and every second word was money money money I'm sure the lad doing the interview was not asking him what money was like.

A footballer caring about money I do say I am shocked.

For anyone wondering that hasn't seen the interview he actually mentions money twice in the entire thing.

And here was I thinking he had signed for the love of the club.

He didn't mention money that much either.

Shocker. I thought he'd be here for the climate and the terrace cafe culture along the banks of the river.

On top of the fact he only mentioned money twice in the whole interview I'm reliably informed what he is being paid is very reasonable.

Pity, sounds like he could have done a job for us. Hopefully if we sign from outside the league we pick up a Robbie Williams rather than a Kanyuka.

Doubt he will be signed with Cork now with them signing a defender today so could still happen with us.I think it was more that we wanted to wait and see than him not wanting to sign.

Russel says "atleast" two more signings will be made before the season starts on live 95fm this morning. Bit of a pre season trip up north next week also playing Ballinamard to give Rodrigo and Bastien a chance to bed in. More economical than the Spanish pre season trip a couple of years back!

You'd hope it would be 2 more defenders but it looks like there's another striker on trial

Was told a possible 3 more players to come in in positions holding midfielder centre half and striker that will be it then.

There is definitely 2 and the club is pushing hard for another striker

3 more players would leave us with a very healthy sized squad. Probably the best depth in years if they have a bit of quality.

I count 19 in the squad.

If we get 3 of similar quality to what we have already then tbf it can't be said the club didn't give Martin every chance of doing well.

Is he actually injury prone or have you just made that up? Looking at the amount of games he has played during his career including 31 in one season with Tranmere very recently suggests different to me but I could be wrong. Not saying he would be a good signing like just wondering where the injury prone thing has come from.

He was training.

I'm told he has brilliant touch and positioning but his legs are gone.

No idea if he has gone up north with the rest of the squad

Just checked there.

He played premiership ball for Blackpool about 35 years ago. I knew I recognised the name from somewhere!

Also, just the 548 career appearances for injury prone Gary :p

Interesting one, bags of experience. I may be dreaming but I think the last time I saw him play he was CDM, might be wrong on that.

Looks like he had a very decent career a few years ago but his goal scoring ability has severely dropped as he has gotten older. No doubt he has a bit of quality but can't see him getting up to much with us if signed.

OK maybe I stretched the injury prone thing :) but he does look over weight and goals have dryed up of late understandably aswell 35yrs old no pace is he worth a weeks wages?
