From a few reports going around people seem to think Russell is as good as gone was mentioned on a radio station in Dublin too.Sounds a bit like its as much him wanting to go as it is the club letting him go. If he does go I hope we get a replacement in quickly would be great to get some business done early like last season. Great to already have the likes of Lee J and Duggy tied down for next season.

Hopefully sorted in the next week or two which or whether. It could give Russel or someone else a chance to watch a few premier games and size up some signings and pounce early.

Looks like Rovers and Galway are sorted now so Russells options are probably us and if Pats sack Buckley.

More chance of Dundalk sacking Kenny than Pats sacking Buckley.

I didn't bother to go look for it but didn't someone say in this that one of the reasons we should keep Russell was his ability to attract top players or something along those lines......I hope that is coming in January from the UK.

I did and my God does it seem to be going the opposite way. Unless he can unearth some gems it seems he is struggling to attract players. Now there could be a variety of reasons for that like getting offered more money, lack of players wanting to actually play for Limerick.

Well I spoke to one player that spoke to us and he said a large reason he turned us down was because Martin just did not have the ability to speak to him at all. I won't quote what he actually said cos I think it could be seen as a personal attack on Martin but it did not sound good. Even players that have worked with him have said he is a great coach with a great style of play but an awful man manager.

Why didn't they leave negotiations up to someone more suitable or does it have to be the manager who handles such things.

Have to let the manager have control really if he wants it I think I mean if you don't trust him to sign his own squad why give him the job. Or if you mean negotiations as in money and that I'd imagine a manager would want to at least be involved in that to gauge a players attitude etc.
