Got duplicate rejection mails at about 3 o'clock last night :(
Maybe i got two because i tried to apply for tickets for the final itself after i had made my ireland application? they notified me of that wasn't allowed straight away though.

A mate of mine got rejected as well....

thats a bit weird - they said they wouldnt be deducting money until mid may. I'd be asking questions, especially given the fact that no mail was received.

Tickets were always going to be a huge issue.

Looks like the odds were pretty long.

I'm going to try and grab a few individual matches or maybe an Iran TST.

If we do qualify I'll be at the mercy of the F.A.I. ticket office.

From FIFA website:

"208,455 of around 900,000 applicants were allocated tickets, equivalent to a 1 in 4.3 chance of success in the first sales phase. The internet accounted for 95% of the applications received. "

1 in 4 seems a bit off??!!

any chance a mod would stick a poll up on this? Just to get numbers on applications v rejections from foot.ie

Sorry one and all to hear the bad news,I expected a few people at least to be jumping for joy this morning on here! Maybe they are really limiting tickets sold during each phase or maybe we are underestimating the amount of irish fans that will go to this. I did not apply for this phase as i did not have the money but i will be applying for the next one. It's going to be tough!

1 in 4 is probably right but not for all tickets.

However there is a limited number of TSTs per country so the odds in getting an Ireland TST are probably 1 in 10 or 1 in 20. If you applied for an Ivory Coast TST you have a 100% success rate as everyone got them.

If you just picked random games you have a 1 in 4 chance. Likewise if you picked the final you probably have a 1 in 50 chance or even worse.

Only hope now is that some people may not pay for them or gave bad credit card details. Only realistic chance of getting Irish tickets now is the F.A.I. allocation or just book individual games and hope we end up playing in them - eg A2 v A4 in Stuttgart on June 12th kickoff 3.30pm (not a real game) book that and come the draw you have Ireland v England.................or more likely Ivory Coast v Costa Rica. :(

Mate who had his mastercard charge dfor 1 of the 4 games he applied for hasn't heard yet.

Good chance you have got 1 game or maybe more.

Most people here are talking about TSTs I assume as Irish games (if we make it) are the priority.

According to the website some games were 39 times oversubscribed (final I assume or maybe German games) therefore you had a 1 in 39 chance if you applied for that.

I'm not a happy bunny at having missed out but in fairness I can't find any fault yet with the way it has been done.

Well I can. Selling tickets on the internet gives touts a free rein.
For Portugal I heard that every staff member in Ray Treacy and other travel agencies applied several times over using every passport number (relations, friends, etc) they could get their hands on. Meanwhile, touts the world over will have been picking up tickets for teams they have no affiliation with. These will be sold at the venues or on E-bay for inflated prices.
E-bay has made the touts game so much easier. They don't even have to travel to a venue now! How many U2 tickets will be sold on E-bay by people who have never even been to Ireland?

Kicking myself I didn't just go for match specific tickets

You might change your mind when you see the type of 'fan' that has had a successful application. I agree that its a near impossible task to please everyone. But, I do feel that individual associations should have an input on how 'their' allocations are distributed. Lets not forget that many of us have spent a hell of a lot of time and money supporting Ireland through the qualifying - just seems like a bit of an injustice that the majority of us wont get tickets.

What about this for a conspiracy theory...

the boys at fifa had all applications on their hands for the best part of 3 weeks in their databases. They then check (in the utmost secrecy of course) the profiles of all applicants. I mean age, sex, passport number. Bingo. male applicants between 18 and 30 might be a bit more trouble than this granny application here or that father of four there, so we provide them with a worse weighting in the 'lottery' draw. Keeps things nice and comfortable for the organizers?

...now don't get me started on aliens!!

I agree it would be much much better if the associations got the tickets. However they are committed to public sales - UEFA the same way re the champions league final.

If so then it has to be a lottery and unfortunately almost all of us have missed out.

Remember in 1990 & 1994 the tickets went to the travel agents and they screwed the fans like there was no tomorrow. In France they went to the French.

Duplicate applications are very difficult to make. You need different addresses, different credit cards, different names. they do pick up on these as a mate applied ten times for Euro2000 and got caught out - 10 names, 10 addresses, same credit card. Another guy got caught using the same name and dob at different addresses.

Just heard of 2 more rejections incl one person who applied for 7 individual games and got none.

KT there is no 2nd phase for Irish fans. Our chance is gone. It is the F.A.I. now.

2nd phase is TSTs for countries not sold out. first come first served so if you want tickets it's the Ivory coast and turn your tricolour the other way around. :( :(
