Article in the Irish Times today:
Chairman and director seeking to buy troubled Bray WanderersO’Connor writes to shareholders offering to buy them out......
the debacle at board level continues, if these men get their hands on the club we are doomed, as the previous posters have stated this chairman has run the real genuine supporters from the club already , I had been involved for 30 years until this season as a player, management team, and supporter, these people have no interest in football or Bray Wanderers.

It is shocking what is going on down there.
It is about time there was a very public airing of what has gone on over the last few years. It would be good if the mcgettigan group could come out and state why they have pulled out etc and maybe the rest will follow.
There has been a lot of "murkiness" over the years but it has got a hell of a lot worse recently. There has been 0 follow up to all the allegations about fake invoices etc.

I am convinced this is going to kill the club it already gets little support from the town and there will be 0 support the way things are going.

Rugby League Ireland moving to the Carlisle Grounds and being sponsored by mcGettigan's and Royal Hotel.

Interesting! Looks like there will be plenty of eyeballing going on. The worry here is if either one of the bids has a big enough block of shares to prevent a takeover either way. A protracted battle could really damage on field issues as all attention is on the respective bids rather than running the club. That on top of sponsors distancing themselves etc. Even if fans row in behind one of the bids the impression is there that the others wont go quietly. Bumpy ride ahead for Bray fans!

At least we have an alternative and they are "football people" with the club at heart. I hope the business community in Bray will support John Deering.

I think thats a positive development at least. Club just doesnt have the fan base for a supporter led initiative. No much future for the club I fear if the Carlisle is sold.

Or maybe start with the general Bray community. Business only get involved when there is something in return.

Club just doesnt have the fan base for a supporter led initiative.

I'm not sure that is true really. Even is there is a guesstimate of 400 fans complimented by away support and with the good will of local businesses (and Damien Duff) there is a base for a club. It may not be league challenging income but certainly enough to sustain a club that lives within it's means. There is probably greater potential in Bray Wanderers than in clubs that have come and gone and those that have been mooted to join LoI. You would be surprised what a supporters committee of 10 (if you're lucky) grafters can achieve, and then a general membership. Helps if supporters get on with club owners....

*maybe you meant a supporter led consortium to buy the club? Ok I can see where sheer numbers could shove an umpopular board aside that may not be possible with Bray. I dont see why supporters could not be part of one of the potential buyers even if it is simply an endorsement from a formal fan's group.

Doesn't look good there. Hearing differing reports from both sides of the camp and it's not pretty whatsoever. A real mess there. I don't so much fear for the future of the club as fear they may alienate any decent support left with the mess going on.

This can't be allowed to continue, , if bray loose croly it would be an absolute disgrace, everything needs to be done, to keep croly and solve these issues. .

Is this not the second or third time the board have said one thing and the complete opposite has happened?

No offence to Bray fans but I really hope his departure affects their performance tomorrow night.

Bray have denied this as players are paid upto date, issue seems to be someone didnt lodge gate money into bank until Tuesday & 3 playes went to cash cheques on Monday. Bray have said all players are paid upto date & Croly is still manager.

Even if this is true it wouldn't fill you with much confidence if there wasn't enough money in their account to cash three cheques which probably only ran to 6 or 700 quid in total.

Cheques would take three or 4 days to clear. If Bray put the money in on Tuesday then there was still plenty of time before the Cheques money would be taken from the Bray account. Only thing I can think of there is if it's from the same bank then sometimes it can be processed in one day but from my experience that is extremely rare.

So while ALL of the shareholders and directors and potential directors fight over the club, we SEEM to have lost the one positive of the season moving forward.
Why cant they all just stop and reflect - the club had made a positive appointment and we were in the news for good reasons for a few weeks.
There is supposedly an EGM in Arklow next week - that was on the club website earlier in the week, but seems to have been taken down now.
WE, THE REMAINING SUPPORTERS, want all of this rubbish sorted out once and for all or there will be nothing left to fight over.
Perhaps it is some peoples agenda to run the club into the ground and build a supermarket - I really don't know. What I do see is that there is no clear fundraising activities like there used to be, no draws, no halftime raffle, no sponsors for the individual players - so income streams are obviously seriously curtailed.

Everybody I speak to has a different story about who owns what and what their agenda is.
If we step back in time - who sacked Pat Devlin and Keith Long - who made that decision and why?
Where have the Slevins gone? - they always seemed to be great grafters for the club - I haven't seen them all year.

Bray confirmed David Cassidy as player/manager on twitter, but only when questioned by Extratime on the matter.

It's becoming a bit of a joke there.

Just looking at Cabinteelys online presence last night for the game vs Harps, and they'd really put most clubs to shame with their up to date announcements, match updates, snapchat updates, twitter and Facebook accounts, and their general presence online. A superb little club that many could take example from.

I have to say.
After seeing this http://www.independent.ie/sport/soccer/league-of-ireland/bray-players-release-scathing-statement-condemning-club-over-wages-fiasco-31352038.html
The players need to be applauded for their attitude and to get the win down in Limerick tonight.
The only way things are going to get resolved is if everyone stands behind the players and obviously the board come out and say what the hell they are doing to our club and why.
Fair play to you lads.

Don't they pay a marketing company to do all that for them?

The o'Connor's say they have only been in bray a short time, let's hope it's not much longer either, or the club will be gone. . If his priority was the players wages then he should have double checked that everything was in place. . Trevor said that if player wages was messed with he would walk, so why wasn't everything checked, Trevor also mentioned an embargo on getting players in, this was also denied by the o connor's, ..

Another break down in communication's , have we heard that before. .

Let's hope someone can get Trevor back. .

That is not the story in Bray Wanderers, everyone got paid last year despite all the furore, and everyone is going to get paid or will be paid this year. There is no issue about that.

Has the Irish Times hit the motives on the head?

The Carlisle Grounds is probably one of the best located in the league and should be retained for football. From my recollection the council own it and Bray have a long lease, so I would assume that any redevelopment would need the full permission of the council in more ways than one. Other suggestions are that the Luas is to link to the Dart and might require a portion of the ground to allow that to happen. Either way the Carlisle is one of the most valuable sites in the country.

The FAI and the Council should get involved to ensure the Carlisle grounds continues to be a soccer facility in the same way that Dalymount and Tallaght have been secured.
Having said that I would think that most supporters would be accepting of some redevelopment that might involve a few commercial or retail units if it makes a financial contribution to the redevelopment of the grounds in its current location.

Lots of questions in this article.
The validity of Mr O'Connor and Mr Kelly as directors, Milway Dawn a Telecommunications company, a list of over 70 questions for O'Connor/Kelly.
It has confirmed the EGM is on for this Saturday.
Seems Mr Deering group have been voicing concern for some time now.

The players need better support. Let's hope the Saturday EGM starts this, and then 3 points against Derry!!!!!!

I remember a couple of years ago there was a thread here discussing supporters buying shares in the club.
Did anyone get the opportunity to buy shares in the end?
Will there be anyone at the meeting that might be able to voice supporters concerns or fill us in on what the outcome is?
