Westport will walk away with the league again this year, could go one better than last season and win every game. Think Manulla might get 2nd with a bit of luck and any one of four to go down S&F, Charlestown, Conn & Ballyglass but going to call Ballyglass & Charlestown. Has there been much movement with players this season? Any teams gain or lose big players?

Westport will walk it if desire there no doubt about that
Celtic are a bit thin on the ground but possess a lot of class players - just not enough of them
Ballina under Nixey should challenge for second
Ballyheane will be fit and Erris will beat anyone on their day just not in the first part of the season
Ballyglass are organised and will benefit greatly from O'Gorman
Don't know much about the others but no obvious weak team as yet

Westport should win it again if they suceed in getting the Mayoman of the Year as manager, as he will keep them focused. Will be an interesting race amongst the rest. Ballina and Castlebar will challenge but it will all depend if they can take points off westport as I cannot see any other team doing so.
Ballyglass will surprise a few as all newly promoted teams do, and JP will score plenty of goals for them, but Manulla should lead the pack from the rest. It will be interesting to see what players they can 'attract' this season. Ballyheane will be in a similar boat to Manulla and should survive. Erris will finish strong, but I think the relegation battle will be between Conn Rangers, S & F and Charlestown, with Charlestown and Conn going down!

Can anyone justify to me why so many people are giving Ballyglass the tag as ones to watch, they didn't win premier league last year, they didn't win premier league cup.... They got very convincingly bet by Erris in Connaught cup, 5 1 till few mins to go, ended 5 3.... Are people just saying this because they signed Jp o Gorman😁 and that mossy lad from Partry

I duno exactly how it works but Snf have appointed 2 of their senior players as player manager type thing, what other teams haven't been sorted yet, westport won't be pulling out of superleague they shud find someone to take that job😄 is it then just Charlestown managerless? Ballyglass are a good side, but they never overly impressed, we bet them up their in the league by a goal, bet them in divisional cup, in big league game near end of year they bet us 1 0 in conn...Danny broderick and Matty Hamilton good players, they've apparently added to their squad, and Jp o Gorman is a top signing but I've a feeling Ballyheane could be close to winning it,

Castlebar have added some decent players to their squad and i expect them to compete for the title. To survive in the super league you need to have good footballing ability along with some physicallity and from what i seen Ballyglass seem to have a good mix of both which will stand to them plus i didn't even know J.P had signed for them as he didn't play the day i seen them, a great signing and he's a proven goalscorer which can only be a bonus, this is why i think they'll do okay.

If i'm not mistaken last season he left Ballina Town after about 5 or 6 games to join Castlbar Celtic but due to a rule where you can't transfer to 3 different clubs in the one season he kind of shot himself in the foot as he couldn't play competive football for the rest of that season and he has been there since, but i'm not surprised to see him back training at S&F, honestly i can't see him making the starting 11 as a striker at Celtic as the options ahead of him are better in my opinion.

Western and Mayo News both tip westport for title with Castlebar celtic runners up.....Conn Rangers and Snf tipped for relegation in the western, Mayo News went with Conn Rangers and Ballyglass... Does anyone agree or disagree with these?:)

Castlebar seem to be putting together a good squad but I suppose I'll have to stick with Manulla for second, just liked the look of them last season and with some luck they'll do very well. Heard over the weekend that Charlestown have sorted a manager so at least the season starts with 10 teams but I think they're destined for the drop. Was passing through Castlebar on Good Friday and saw them playing Achill and they looked really poor.

I believe they were, cunningham, lawless, kipper, Keane, Scahill, Cameron, hoban, mcNally, keegan, and the lad that plays on the wing I think his name is Jamie. Lovejoy and vinny o malley came on as substitutes as well. Is that full strength?

On a side note, took a spin to see Ballyglass for the first time last week after all the talk about them. They look really solid throughout the team, no chance of them winning anything but no chance of them going down either. In fairness to Charlestown they weren't outclassed as 5-1 might suggest. Played with 10 men for the full second half and were evenly matched until the last 10/15 minutes when they looked to tire a small bit and were caught on the break.

Interesting results over the weekend, Westport get out of jail in injury time at ballyheane, Ballina town come from 1 down to win 2-1 at Castlebar celtic, foxford lose heavily to Charlestown and ballyglass destroy conn rangers to keep up their good start to the league.

3 out of 4 with the predictions isn't too bad.
Surprised to see S&F losing so heavily to Charlestown, they look in serious trouble. Big game between themselves and Conn in a fortnight, I think the loser is a cert for Premier A next season.
Great to see Ballyglass top of the league after promotion, it wont last but fair play to them anyway.

Really wish the rumours on here about the pitch were true and that we didn't have to play that game yesterday 😄 The improvement in the ballyglass team from last year is hard to believe, their chief scout was right on the money with summer signings Jp o Gorman and the Polish center half.... It'll be interesting over the next few games to see if Ballyglass can hold their own against the likes of Westport and Ballina Town (not sure when their due to meet), I know they already beat Celtic but from what I've seen of Celtic so far they need to up their game big time if their going to compete for the league title, no way near the level they were last year but in saying that they weren't great last year either but still managed to finish 2nd.

Fair play to Ballyglass - breath of fresh air. It looks a lot like Ballina V Port for league. I will be surprised if Celtic or Ballyheane manage to get back while Ballyglass will do well to hang on. Having seen both Ballina & Port of late then the Port for me - not as good as last year but still better.
The heane have had a crappy month Losing narrowly to Mervue then failing to score against S&F followed by a robbery in ballina and then failing to hold on against Westport. Should be 7/9 but are 1/9 and Celtic up next. Still early days though
