Make sure you only give Drogs half the tickets they want, to be on the safe side.

Any idea what will be the televised game next Friday.....Limerick v Sligo/Drogs v Rovers or the Dundalk title presentation?
I'd be near 100% right in saying it won't be Dundalk v Bray.
I'd say you have have it right there though with one of Sligo v Lims or Shams v Drogs and prob both combined but with Shams/Drogs as main match.

I'd say it will be the Shams/frogs game. Just down the road from D4 and it'll **** Shams off. Two boxes ticked for RTE.

After the yawn-inducing affair that was the second half yesterday, RTE would be well advised to steer clear of Limerick if they want a good game of football to show people.

Harps v UCD live next Friday.

A live First Division game? That must be a first.

I was joking of course.
Funnily, the last First Division game televised, and the only one I can think of in memory, at least in regular season and not play off was Harps v Athlone in Finn Park in 2007 where Roddy Collins called Stephen Parkhouse fat and useless to just further grow the hate Harps fans have for the man.

I think Athlone v Rovers was live in 2006 as well?
Actually think the game should be live. The play-offs deserve a bit of promotion (no pun intended...) and a nicely balanced game in front of what'll probably be a decent crowd involving at least one team who tries to play football :) should be shown.
Not that I'm in any way biased of course.

Galway United were on live whilst in the First Division in 2006. Away to Athlone Town in Dubarry Park, and I think the last home game of the season against Cobh Ramblers was shown as well. Both matches were on TG4

I'm clearly getting old, I'd forgotten about those games.

Actually, now I think of it, didn't Setanta show a play-off game between Waterford and Longford a few years ago? Or was that Dundalk?

Waterford v Dundalk.
Rovers v Dublin City was also live.

Yeah I remembered the Premier/First Division playoffs being on alright just didn't recall an all FD game.

Remembering both of those 2 games has cheered me up no end!

Athlone v Shamrock Rovers in 2006 was live on TG4. I actually went to that game in the rugby grounds out the Ballymahon Rd.Whats that ground name again?

You never know, it wouldn't surprise me either way if they went for our game, or chose a match featuring a relegation. Maybe they might do Rovers v Drogs, either way I'd expect them to show coverage of us picking up the trophy. And how I'm very much looking forward to that little moment.

Dubarry Park. That was an FAI Cup quarter-final and was live on TV. It was Athlone's last season at St. Mel's Park.

I agree, but you can see even in the press coverage that the relegation battle is all people care about.

My suggestion would be to cover the Shamrock Rovers/Drogs match, and have a live link ups for goals in the Limerick/Sligo match, and for the trophy presentation at the Dundalk/Bray match as the end.
Probably too much work for RTE though.

Really hope RTE commentary/pundit team at the game can refrain from another unjustified Limerick love-in. It was getting a bit embarrassing last Friday.

Turned out to be a great game to watch last night, much better that the Limerick/Shams drek. Nice to go back and forth with the Tallaght game. What are the chances they show the second leg of the play-off?

They showed both legs of the Waterford vs Dundalk play-off 3 seasons ago but don't think they have televised any since.

That was Setanta though. Might do it though as there'd be decent amount of interest in it.

Can forget about the first leg anyway. If it finishes a draw or even a high scoring game (3-2, 2-2, 3-4) either way then I reckon they will show it next Friday. If one team wins handy enough then it probably won't be televised at all.

Really think a TV crew will want to come to Ballybofey?

I'm sure BBCNI can spare a camera.

I don't see why not if the interest was there. That and the fact RTE have nothing really else going at the moment sports wise. cup final on Sunday might put them off of course.

I don't think the interest would be there for RTE. When they do cover games they go the whole hog and bring at least two cameras and a full crew. Setanta might be able to make it pay if they just did it with a stationary camera.

Better no camera's for Harps sake as people will stay at home rather than travel to watch.
If tonights result is good for Harps there will be a massive crowd
Anyone know if there is radio coverage for tonites game?, what about Limerick Live 95FM or Donegal's Ocean FM and Highland Radio local radio sports coverage?
Highland Radio will have live coverage of the game which has a 7.45 pm start.
Just checked their website, you will be able to get it all online tonite, great!
Harps also provide live online updates via Mobstats- tonight's game here: http://app.mobstats.com/#fixture?nnigg9kjr0LimerickFC-FinnHarpsFC

Harps v Limerick is definitely not being televised for anyone keeping the fingers crossed. There'll be heaps of media on site though and live radio coverage.

Enjoy Nigel, this playoff has been a real success story for the league, just proves that the appetite is there for LOI footy especially when there is something to play for. Even if Harps do not make it, a good start to next years campaign should mean even better crowds in 2016.
