Dundalk's next match is against Drogs on Friday evening in the Malone Cup.

Finished 6-0. It was 1-0 at half time and the Cabinteely keeper had to go off, their second choice didn't have a great game.

They've a few decent players, I thought they'd be a lot worse. If they can stay compact at the back and well disciplined they can pick up a few wins in the first division.

Best of luck to them.

For us that's 15 goals scored and 0 conceded in 3 games this week. Kilduff with 4 of those all off the bench. Looking forward to the real stuff starting and seeing how we're set up for the season. I think we're a central midfielder or 2 short to win the league.

Bae young Brilly that played with us, the only player I can say with confidence I know a good bit about is Jamie McGlynn, can see them getting battered from pillar to post in 99% of games.

Most of the players named there were under 19 players from around Pat's, Shamrock Rovers, Bray etc. A few of them signed from LSL, and a handful of them already with LOI experience. Goalkeeper Shane Fagan was with Shamrock Rovers B last season in the First Division as well as their under 19s.
They've still time to sign a couple more too, and will certainly be no pushover, and Eddie Gormley will have them well drilled too.

Agreed. New league should be top 10 teams playing the likes of Castlebar, Cabinteely, Tolka Rovers and whatever pub side Sligo played last week and whoever scores the most goals wins the title

I thought Sligo with the likes of Dinny, Wearen and Beattie alongside the two world class stars from lands afar would be a serious side and these thrashings of less than respectable opposition isn't doing anything to make me change my stance. They'll run a riot on the league.

Cobh Wanderers was only a cup game. But admittedly the win in Skibb was huge. There's light on the horizon.

If Dundalk win the Malone Cup* tomorrow night v Drogs, this could change things significantly, Longford could move into the Euro spot contentions?

* We usually lose this spectacularly on pens anyway, nothing taken for granted at this early stage.

Dundalk 2 Drogs 0 in the annual Jim Malone cup game, surprisingly a rare win for us, have lost on pens most years! Seemed to be a comfortable win, most notable for the first time I can recall an exact attendance given for a 'friendly' (1,195)

I was talking to a Guard at the game, he was saying there was trouble last time so they had a few units on to be safe. Some of the Pats idiots were there but left 15 minutes into the game when they realised the Shels ones weren't at the game. I wish they'd just **** off for good.
