View Full Version : Scotland (A); 14th November, 2014; Ticket Exchange Thread

Demand is a lot higher for this game than what the SFA have put aside for Irish supporters, so thought I'd start a ticket exchange thread as it's nearly a month until the game and I understand some (all?) FAI and supporters club tickets have already been allocated. I ran it by tets and he gave me the all clear. :)
I'll try follow the format of previous ticket swap threads. It's a maximum of two tickets per poster with usual rules (http://foot.ie/threads/51200-Ticket-waiting-lists?p=612751&viewfull=1#post612751) applying.
Don't post "I have tickets" or "I want tickets" if someone has what you want - PM the top person on the list. If you don't, you're liable to lose your place in the queue.

As per previous games, something may turn up but as suggested to the august DI earlier, liable to be only hours before the game...so you'd have to be willing to have a potentially fruitless journey and watch it on the Gallowgate?
Will pursue some options with Scots I know for 'their end', but whether they are willing to play ball is another matter.
If you pay £55 to become a member of the TA, there's a route in right there, though they may well reject on the basis of the address/surname...
At least our tickets are cheaper (seen £27-32) than their's v. Eng. which are £60 for a friendly!

According to ones on YBIG, tickets will be on general sale from 12:00 on 15th October.
Probably an idea to use a non-Irish address for this though.
ArdeeBhoy
13/10/2014, 11:22 AM
This is correct, don't think they'll sell them to an Irish address, or a v.obviously Irish name?
But just ph.The SFA there and going on sale, online and over the phone at Noon on Weds...

They'll be available on the SFA website yeah? Obviously you'd be stuck with home supporters though?

Yeap, but you could try to get as close to the Irish section as possible...
Happened at lots of other games, as long as no massively obvious colours, should be fine...

Anyone decided to chance their arm with some home section tickets?
Bosco
15/10/2014, 11:56 AM
Seems to be a few people buying them on the Ybig forum.....an hour and a half que though.
There's a danger that if enough Irish get their hands on them we'll sell out the Scotland allocation ourselves and shoot ourselves in the foot for getting an extra away allocation.

I just picked up 8 together.
It says 1:30 wait (which is an estimate) but it dropped to a nil wait in about 40 minutes. I'm hopeful (expectant in fact) to get sorted by the FAI but these are backup and we have plenty of lads travelling that don't normally travel so was worth it. Plenty on YBIG getting them also.
LL Upper Blocks 415 / 414 seem to be areas of preference at the moment. £35 each + small admin/postage charge.

Lost my place. Good luck everyone. There will be a possy on Irish fans in block 113, row LL if that helps anyone pick seats
Got 2 in 113 and 2 in 413, big enough group of us going anyway and we've all applied for tickets so hopefully these can just be something to fall back on if we're not all sorted. Can't imagine they'll be difficult to get rid of if needs be.

Tip for anyone trying to book a hotel in the city centre. The prices have rocketed, but easyhotel isn't on any of the comparison websites so it is still at a decent rate if you don't mind not having a window in your room.

Anyone know a good spot in the city centre for pints in the after the game?

I got in a bit quicker than I'd thought I would. Which section is the away section? I've got choice of Jock Stein Upper or Lisbon Lions Lower; which would be closest to away section, just in case I can't get sorted with ones for our section?
ArdeeBhoy
15/10/2014, 4:59 PM
Lisbon Lions Lower Block 115, Row G & H here...
In theory right next to the away fans.
My FAI contact tells me they're not taking orders from Irish addresses or will apparently be 'rejected' in due course.

Cheers! England addresses OK?
ArdeeBhoy
15/10/2014, 5:17 PM
As far as I know (AFAIK) should be fine, though if your name was something very obviously Irish, don't know how much scrutiny they will bother with...or what their terms & conditions of sale say...

It seemed to automatically select "collect in person" for me - I feared that might have proven difficult with an Irish passport and driving licence featuring an Irish place of birth - so I went back out to try and see if there was an option to amend/choose postage, but it's now signed me out as I had less than ten minutes left set aside for me. Bah! Hopefully, will be OK getting back in again. There were plenty left in 115. Did you get to book postage to an address in England, AB?
ArdeeBhoy
15/10/2014, 5:30 PM
Nah, will be collecting in person, normally they only want to see the bank card you paid with.
As for ID, who are they to know that anyone with a foreign passport isn't, er, half-Scottish...must be tens of thousands half-Scots/Irish?
DannyInvincible
15/10/2014, 5:55 PM
I'm guessing the seats numbered closer to 30 in block 115 are closer to away section. Just got three anyway marked by the yellow dot.

I wonder does the away section continue from 120 on around to 116? I've marked the area out in red there myself.
ArdeeBhoy
15/10/2014, 6:33 PM
Yes and yes...right by the away fans, Block 116-120 AFAIK
You'll have a better view.
Glad you got sorted, if you don't mind meeting a few Tims, will try to find a good venue to meet up before, though after will be more of a problem.
No colours in the city centre for sure...

Hmm, wonder how many were Irish fans...reckon they got a good few hundred minimum today.
Junior
16/10/2014, 8:22 AM
Wonder what that means for the official Irish allocation? I don't believe the grey blocked out areas on the ticket portal were all sold tickets, the ones in the corner of the LL and between the LL and the Main Stand y were blocked for the away support - and the 'blocked area' was way more than the 3,000 official allocation. I wonder does it mean they are sending more tickets our way?
If that is the case, it seems a bit daft that they (SFA, FAI) wouldn't communicate that to the fans before knowing that a fair few would be off buying them in the home section once they went on General Sale.
I could be completely wrong on this but the blocked areas added up to way more than the allocation, only other explanation is that the tickets bought by TA members were all for the section nearest the away support.
Danny - You got a link for that or were you just on the site again this morning?
EDIT: Someone on YBIG just bought some 8 minutes ago in the LL stand, so would appear still some left.

16/10/2014, 8:50 AM
Mutual acquaintance Junior, told me Tues, our allocation was still 3.6k, though wouldn't surprise me if the SFA 'somehow' increased that and sold all those tickets to Ireland fans as well...as in they're only interested in flogging all the tickets and don't care if there's a glut on any black market...
Do we know what date the FAI is going to let us know about the away ticket allocation? I know they left it late enough for the German game.
ArdeeBhoy
16/10/2014, 9:15 AM
They are supposed to have confirmed by now, but often they don't tend to until they receive their tickets from the other FA. Maybe they are still hoping for more (see above)?
Ours were confirmed, but would give them a ring...

Think some of those are sorted...if the FAI get more, there will be loads of spares, even presuming it's sold-out. If it's not now, it's unlikely to be?

AB; our tickets are as close to block 116 as is possible without actually being in it, so what would you recommend in terms of trying to get our hands on official away section ones as well and then trying to get rid of the block 115 ones we have? If we could get block 116-120 tickets, do you reckon the logistics of having to collect the block 115 tickets in person and then get rid of them again would be difficult? Might we be best just sticking with what we have and saving a lot of needless hassle? I'd take myself of the exchange list if so. Presumably, there'll be some form of segregation between blocks 115 and 116 too? If I'm not mistaken, it's usually two human barriers of stewards doubled up on either side of a selection of empty seats during Old Firm derbies and the like; do you expect similar security to be in place here and do you envisage there to be segregation outside the stadium pre-match?
Danny - You got a link for that or were you just on the site again this morning?

Apologies. My info was based purely on one or two posters on YBIG stating that they'd been on the site last night and there were no tickets left in any of the sections that had been open. Might the SFA have opened another section today? Or maybe those fellas were just blind, ha...

Unless you have takers for them, guess you are stuck with them. Depends on what status you have re.away tickets?
Am guessing limited, so unless the FAI get more, hang on to what you've got.
Otherwise you should be fine.
