Very lucky not to lose last night. Team was far far too deep and while Pat Flynn was immense we had no stand out performers in an attacking sense. We would have all took a draw especially with 5 games to go and each and ever one of them winnable. Amazing support for the lads last night

Hightlight of the night was De Town support, I sat across in the empty stand for a while, you guys were amazing each and everyone of you take a bow, shame we couldn't say the same for the team, I agree about Flynn, our best player by a street.
Cousins said on Shannonside that against Shamrock rovers he changed it to 352 and that why we owed the ball for most of the last half hour, so if it works against premier opposition (even if it was only Rovers) why don't we play 5 in the middle against our rivals for the run in
if we draw 2 more and Shels win those 2 we have lost our lead, while a draw is better than a lose, 2 wins is better than 5 draws, anyway I'm sure we will debate it to death before it's over

I agree that the shape is all wrong, I think we all do. But there's no chance TC is going to tinker with the team and it's shape this late in the day and in a way you can understand that but we seriously need to liven up we've looked very very flat up front recently a lot of that is down to the lack of supporting runs for sully. We thought maybe Hynes could have a go but he showed tonight he's only the man to bring on when we are 3/0 up with 15 to play, he looked tired after 10 minutes tonight. Thought Hunty looked solid last night and as we said sully and Flynn immense again as was Jamie but we really are missing Tiddler at this point with no natural left back and again the winger situation is farcical, how did we not go out and sign one il never know. The lads playing those positions are giving it their all but there not wingers.

Shannon is a winger in fairness and I think he should start ahead of Cowan after the last couple of games. Kevin O'Connor is an excellent player but not a winger as you say. We don't have anyone else though. Thought Salmo struggled a bit on the heavy pitch. Conditions weren't great in fairness.

Salmo seems to struggles on a lot of pitches of late, I think his legs have gone, I noticed him trying to do those high kick warm ups the lads do, he looked like he couldnt get his feet above his hips, then again maybe he wasn't trying to get higher, maybe as you say it's the heavy ground because he did look good for a while when the weather was better in our so called summer,
I hope I'm wrong

Ah seriously, give the lad a break. No striker was going to come on with us sitting as deep as we were and going to make difference. Wasn't it him who had that shot that got deflected over?
For me, the problem in the second half was we knew a draw was enough, and shels knew they had to win. You could see that by the reactions of the two teams at the final whistle. It doesn't really matter how we set up in those circumstances, its the players that inevitably begin to drop deep.

I agree the deep set up made it hard for the players and I've been defending Hynes on here all season for some of the unfair stick he's gotten but he really doesn't help himself at times with the lack of effort he appears to put in, maybe he's just one of those berbatov players that try to do everything at their own pace but he really isn't very good at it. I think the answer to our problems is to put don up front.

Well he can't be any worse than on the wing

It's understandable that TC is sticking with the players he's used all season but it'd be no harm to freshen things up a bit. We're playing the same players and making the same subs each match. It's gotten a bit predictable at this stage. Keep the defence the same but a change or two further up the pitch mightn't be any harm.

Maybe this Leinster Cup final might be the the to try something. I've heard unreal reports about Ger Pender, suppose to be a top player and is banging in the goals for the 19's. Dylan Mckeever looks a promising talent too.
