We beat Bohs and I saw Fairview beat Lakewood yesterday. On pre-season form, I suppose both favourites won but neither were comfortable. Bohs played well down a man and could have made it 2-2 before we made 3-1 late on. If Lakewood had kept ahead to half time, it could have been different. Once Fairview went ahead though, there was only winner. Both winners happy to get out alive I'd say. Positives in defeat for Lakewood and Bohs.

Ref gave DIRECT free kick but their defender start to mouth off and got booked for disent. Our player scored from resulting free kick. Ref disallowed goal as he said the free kick was changed to indirect for the disent from the player. Surely that's not a rule. We got penalised for their player mouthing off. Anyone shed any light on it for me?

Surely free should have stood for original foul and if the ref had changed it to indirect he should have told the player taking the kick? Sounds ridiculous.

Does it only apply to a few teams? 2 of our lads straight red and 4 match ban last season (fair enough) but 3 games it's happened where opposition has done it including tonight and the ref does nothing. Absolutely **** sick of it.. One rule for one team and then another for the rest.

Glenvale came at us but we popped in a second. Shefellover was called into action a few times but we held out and finished with a worldy! Glad to get out alive again.

Saying "Spas**c or Reta*d" are automatic Red Card offences and all referees have been made aware of this for the last 2 seasons. You will be sent off for calling yourself one never mind directing it at someone else!!! Surprised & very disappointed to see that this wasn't enforced here.

We got 2 reds for it last season, and rightly so if they are the rules. In the instances I'm on about, it was as if the ref either forgot or "didn't hear" because he was intimidated by the player/team who said it. There doesn't seem to be a level playing field in some games which is a bit of a shambles. But in one game where we recieved a red for this after 10 minutes of the game, we controlled the game and were in the lead for most of it but one man down with heavy legs etc. ended up losing the game and the 3 points. We lost the league title by 2 points in the end. And when i see other teams not getting punished for it it does my head in.
