Bohs in Turners Cross was well below that. Not scoring points or anything, just saying.

It was absolutely pouring all day long. Fair Point though!

Think that was 1500 when would nrmally be something like 4500 so would bring the average down a lot.

Look back over the thread, you'll find a few. Derry and Drogs in at 3,000, Longford and Waterford (twice) at 3,500 and Bohs 1,700. All bringing the average down. Average without that Bohs game is 4,222.

Are ye for real?? No more than 400 at it

No there was about 400 / 500 there, but it was propably the worst game of football i have every seen.
Two own goals, no real chances other than our "messiah" Robbie Farrell trying to kill the corner flag on the other side of the goal from the corner of the six yard box.

I agree with you on the worst game of football ever but there is NO WAY there was 400-500 people in the ground unless 200 were in the bar or all at the toilet at the same time. Remember, you shouldn't really be counting players, subs or refereeing officials :D
It was so quiet two young fellas were having a lengthy clearly audible conversation with each other, one sitting in the Riverside, one in the Ballybough End.
There were 30 Derry fans in the Riverside, 150 fans in the main stand and a few stragglers at either end. And yes, I counted, it wasn't hard and it beat watching the match.
I've been to more entertaining masses.

from watching on tv3,i got a look at both ends and the main stand.the crowd was embarrassingly low.i estimated c.200,assuming the few dozen derry fans had te riverside to themselves.
as for Rovers v waterford,i reckon there was 700 max.

Belfield has 1276 seats, plus standing. Standing is arbitrary really, but 2,500 extra tops.
Can someone cut this off to a new thread, please?

Official capacity of Richmond is somewhere around the 5,200 mark. But...record attendance AFAIK was a bit over 7,000 for the Pats v Cork league decider in April 1999. Go figure...

the dundalk sligo and monaghan figures are all a little too generous imo
dalymount holds 8500max. the shopping centre terrace is no longer part of the ground. 3750 seats on the connaught st. 1500 seats in shed, some standing space also.c2800 in main stand
saw cobhs ground on tv3 last week for the cup highlights, and i find it hard to believe they can fit 9000 into their ground
brandywell is less than 3000 for this year
flancare is 6500 dont know where the 10000 comes from
tolka is 10500-11000 since the new stand was built 2 years ago
turners x is 7500, then theres some standing space at the back of the sta nnes end.it would be 8000 max

I've heard various figures for the capacity of the stand at Century Homes Park, from 440 to 600. (I've also heard various stories as to why it's built so far back from the pitch, and, it seems to me, at an angle also. Still no idea why though!)
There is a lot of work going on at Century Homes at the minute, that is due to be finished at the end of the summer. One end and the far side of the ground will be terraced, so while I'd agree that 6,600 sounds on the generous side it might be close to the mark when the work is finished. I'd go with 5000.

a lot of work going on at the mo in century homes?????
me dont think so.....
the long awaited pitches for the juviniles and seniors is still on the long finger-only 1!!
the only thing i can see that has progressed is the new astro turf park-and its independent of monaghan !!!
3,500 until we build the new stand the far side.Work is at a standstill as the lack of Government and FAI Grants has stalled all work in most el grounds.
We had three games where we had in excess of 7,500 people in the ground all before the seating went in the new stand.

From couple of times i was there looked like stand doubling up as perimeter wall so maybe far away from pitch to save few quid there or else maybe were plans to move pitch later. Don't think ye'll need to fit 5000 into CHP anytime soon as only a few hundred at City games i attended there.

2,091 saw Trelleborg vs. Kalmar last night in the Swedish Allsvenskan. This is in a country that has more than twice the population of the Republic and has a league that is twenty places higher ranked that LOI football. Plus top-flight Swedish clubs have only 13 home league matches in a season. There is no league cup and the Swedish cup is a disaster with regards to attendances.
Point is, considering the above, attendances for LOI matches is good.

But thats probably like Hoime Farm playing UCD or similar. Top swedisgh teams get over 20k for the big games.
