' The atmosphere is building ' at Turners Cross says the Setanta Sports presenter. We will have to take his word for that.

If it's a patch on Bray last time out it'll be something to remember for Will Downing!

That makes Kilduff the first player to score 4 goals in one game for us.

Happy with the 3 pts, opens a bit of a gap to Limerick.

Rovers should sign that Kilduff lad, you need a goal scorer.

They have Zayed you know - he's a way better player even if he has slightly less goals

Very entertaining game for tv, pity Cork can not defend better as they could be big club in this league with their support base.

Sligo Hoops.
10/10/2013, 9:29 PM
How the Hoops could have done with Killer last Sunday in the Showgrounds. At least he is appreciated down South. Not forgetting Dean Kelly. The makings of a good front two . Hang on a minute ...

Actually that's a point, where has Zayed gone to, wasnt even in the squad for their Semi Final.

Also does anyone know what sort of contract Kilduff on with Rovers, heard Kenny was looking at him.

He has a year left with Rovers. his post match interview hinted he'd be happy enough to stay with Cork but there's "a few things to be sorted out"

Fine played

Cork and Shels was a great game. I was sitting with mates having a few cans before a night out, they wouldn't give LOI the time of day but even they said it was an entertaining game with some good goals scored.

Hope Pats v Sligo is a good entertaining game for tv tommorow. For me Pats have played the best soccer this year (have not seen enough of Dundalk) and I did tip them for the league on this forum at the start of the season. The only draw back for them must be the poor crowds they have been getting at Richmond Park. Do people think the location of the ground is a hindrance in getting more people to go to their games?
If the win the title it will be well deserved by John Russell; a very skillfull player who has been under-rated by LoI fans and the soccer media.

Even tho I would like to have more people at our games we've done alright this season. After Derry next week that will be our 17 league home games played, we will have probably hit over 2,000 at 6 or 7 times, we got over 3,000 for the Dundalk game and will have over 3,000 tomorrow and hopefully the same next week. Also a big crowd in Europe and the cup QF against Rovers.

What is Pats average this season? Around 1,500, I expect.

That is not too bad.

1-1 in Athlone, Mervue 1 up, Waterford losing 1-0 at the moment. LTFC and Mervue in play offs as things stand but that'll change no doubt.

Currently Longford are 2-1 up, Mervue 2-0 up and Waterford losing 1-0.

Athlone - 55 (+20)
Longford - 50 (+21)

Bit of a sickener for whoever misses out with Mervue being subsumed into Galway FC anyway

They should be allowed to carry on if they want tbh they would do no harm to Galway FC.

Longfordian

From the talk of the Galway folk on here it's just the players and manager that want to carry on. Obviously out to prove a point lately but they've had a great season.

Waterford pull one back 2-1 down now.

Wonder if they got promoted would the tune change from some higher up in the club.

They're 4-0 up now, they'll be favourites for the First Division play off I reckon. The form team.

Mervue to beat Bray unmentionables in a playoff, then disband, saving Bray for the millionth season in a row!

Longfordian
12/10/2013, 8:29 PM
Quite possible. On another note blow it up to **** ref

Bohs equalise in injury time meaning a Pats win tomorrow and they're champions

Longfordian

Full time 2-1 Town. Town play Mervue in the play offs, second leg at the CCS.

adamd164
12/10/2013, 8:48 PM
So Mervue make the playoffs after all. If they manage to win, this will descend into farce. If it hasn't already.

Longfordian
12/10/2013, 9:02 PM
By the way, cheers Sligo for giving us Ryan Connolly, he's been an excellent addition to our midfield. Never stops running and has shown good attacking qualities from the middle of midfield. It is a big step down but he's definitely stood out.

WoodquayBoy
12/10/2013, 9:11 PM
It has long descended into farce - the suits wanting 'out', the manager and players wanting 'in'. They've won 6 on the bounce now, conceding just once (tonight) in that run. You'd have to fancy them to topple Longford, and while the Premier Division side will obviously have the greater experience, and higher standard, Mervue will have some
momentum behind them. Would be sadistically hilarious if they go the whole way, just to see what happens

Longfordian
12/10/2013, 9:14 PM
We'll get a big boost from tonight, a badly needed confidence builder but as I said above Mervue would be slight favourites for me. Won't be much in it either way though if we can manage to get our first choice defence on the field.
